Bufalo mozzarella was wonderful. Light and sweet. So good. Squid ink risotto with crab was equally amazing. The crab was cooked to perfection. I had the goat and loved every bite. My husband had the pork chop part. It was a little undercooked. Finished with pistachio cake which I would have ordered a second piece if my husband hadn’t stopped me. I never tasted anything so divine!
The Service went above and beyond. We were dining with my 10year old, and Though they don’t offer a children’s menu, the server made several suggestions, assuring my daughter would live her food. She did and so did we! Oh, Bloody Marys were excellent!
Maybe we caught the chef on an off day but our brunch items were simply not good. The drinks were good. Overall we left disappointed b/c we heard really good things about it. Not opposed to trying it one more time.
Food over cooked and boring compared to how was listed and described on menu. Menu hard to understand for some dishes and not served what expected.
Ambiance nice and great service.
I liked the atmosphere of this place. Our waitress was very informative and offered excellent suggestions. Both the pasta dishes and entree options were generous in their portions. I definitely would return to try more dishes.
Great service and amazing dinner! Will definitely be back here sometime soon!
Great service! Roasted chicken good.
Not a nice welcome greeter said you’re late (restaurant was empty and we were 20 min late. I just canceled your reservation but I’ll seat you anyway. Wow so rude otherwise everything was fabulous!
Very Nice time.
Food was Good.
Had a bottle of wine and our service was Fantastic.
Great service. Waiter was awesome.
The food at Amis was great. My husband got the roasted half chicken and I got the tonnarelli pasta and both were delicious. The service was excellent and The staff was very kind. The only thing that would keep from going back was the fact that the other diners glared at us all night. We are a young African American couple so it happens sometimes in nice restaurants. We are used to it. Still, the overall experience would have been better without the glares.
Amis is always a very enjoyable experience for our family!!
First time at Amis and we were very impressed. We decided try some things new to us: beef cheek and goat. Both were excellent. And the wine we had, recommended by our server Javas, was excellent. Special kudos to Javas, by the way. Great service, well paced and everything explained nicely. Hope to be back soon.
Heading back in the right direction.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Always an enjoyable experience.
Amazing meal with delicious flavors. I’d definitely go back and the beef cheek app and slow roasted goat made for an adventurous and delicious meal.
Everyone was outstanding at our birthday celebration !
We love Amis and hope to come over and over and over
Thank you .
Great service and great dining. Highly recommend for vegetarians like myself.
Delicious homemade pasta. Love the starters menu too. Great for sharing so you get to try it all! Was great for us because it’s just a quick walk to the Kimmel Center for the show we were seeing. Don’t know why this place doesn’t get more press for being delicious.
Meatballs and squid risotto were good. We asked for a quiet table in person and on open table, but when we arrived the "quiet table" was in between several other diners. We asked for quiet and got stuck at a table under speakers and by bar. There was a whole empty part of restaurant, so would have preferred that.
The Veal was amazing... The gelato was some of the best I have ever had
We always have a good time at Amis. This night not so good. They were just off the Restaurant Week whirl.
The reservation was confirmed on Open Table and I called in advance to confirm our time. The restaurant had us for 30 minutes later...we worked it out.Gina is our favorite waitress. We asked to seated in her station, but we had a wonderful young woman,Liz;instead. It was a birthday celebration for one of our guest, and her first time at Amis. She didn't feel the love.We will come back, but we were not as satisfied as we have been in the past.
Great food and service, what else could you ask for?
We have been going to brunch at Amis for a few years and have our favorite items on the menu. This visit had new menu. We ordered one of our favorites - the bread basket - only to find that instead of the quick breads and muffins that it had always been, we got a basket of 4 dinner rolls. When we asked about it we were told they have a fabulous pastry chef who makes the best honey buns. There were no honey buns in the basket however. The only sweet item on the brunch menu is the sweet potato pancakes, which had a good flavor but were too mushy in the middle. When we finished eating, the waiter came by to ask if we had saved room for something sweet. Unfortunately that would have been the old bread basket and waffle I had planned to order. I don’t typically order dessert after brunch.
We enjoyed our pre theater dinner at Amis primarily because of the spectacular service. But we are pescatarians and there was only one fish dish on the menu(trout), which we didn’t care for. So we ended up having 5 starters as our meal, with almost no protein except a little cheese. They were tasty, but we were disappointed that there weren’t more vegetarian or fish entrees except pasta.
Gave them 4 stars however, because our waiter, whose name I didn’t catch, was just wonderful . He described every dish to a t, was attentive without hovering, and was generally a perfect server. It was his idea to get all the starters, and it was a great one.
It was so wonderful. Service was best ever, the food was all delicious, great presentation and the tiramisu was soooooooo gooooood
Awesome meal and overall dinner. Restaurant week menu was incredible.
Awesome as always. Much better than its sister restaurant in Devon
Food was delicious! Make sure you make a reservation because it gets very busy, and for a good reason!
Restaurant Week - Food was great. Very crowded. Tables were much too close together for any sense of a quiet or private conversation.
Great food and drinks!
great food and great service. i will be returning
Dishes are just so flavorful...and a changing menu of offerings...
Fair sized drinks.. and ever helpful wait staff makes this an enjoyable spot for bar or dinner...
I was here 2 years ago and the food was wonderful. Was looking forward to going again and sharing the experience with friends.
The ambience and service were good. I was thrilled to see many of the same food selections on the menu. However when the food came I was so disappointed . It wasn’t terrible, just average. There are too many good restaurants in Philly for me to return.
Overall tasty - went for their restaurant week dinner with a small group, and we all really enjoyed the bruschetta and first courses. The brussel sprouts were roasted very well. One ordered the jalapeno almond pesto bucatini, which was a hit. We had mixed feelings about the rainbow trout with all of the tiny bones still in the filet, but it was flavorful. Dessert was delicious as well.
Went during restaurant week. Was seated a little late, but that was more than made up for with the flawless service and ambiance. All of the wine that was selected was delicious. The Restaurant Week menu could have been a little more colorful. Pops of color in food goes a long way! Everything tasted great though so I'll definitely be returning soon.
