Really nice all around. The menu is small, so if you're looking for a ton of options, this isn't your place, but everything is delicious!
Dinner at Amis is great, from salad to main. Always get dessert!
The food and service was excellent but the music was too loud leading us to have to speak loudly to one another several times to be heard across the table. Its unfortunate that restaurants have to keep the music so loud. Some people enjoy talking over their meal
Amis always delivers on great food, exceptional service, in a relaxed atmosphere.
Apps were cold. Chicken in salsa verde was drenched in olive oil. Was my go to place in Philly. Not any more
Dining out for life
The food was tasty though they were still getting used to their new spring menu. Some nice and unexpected combinations of flavors.
First night of the new spring menu was a success! We particularly enjoyed the savory and well seasoned eggplant caponata bruschetta, the grilled octopus in a dreamy sauce made of ramps, and the house made fettucini with lamb bolognese. The generous lemon tart was the perfect way to finish a delightful meal. The service was excellent! Look forward to returning soon.
The spinach on the duck dish was sandy, but the rest of the food was incredible
We went for dinner for my husband’s birthday and brought our 6 month old daughter. It was loud enough in there that it was fine if she made noise, but it wasn’t so loud that it was too much. Our waitress was very nice and answered all of our questions about the menu, helping us choose some delicious options. It was also wine week so we were able to get wines by the glass that are normally only available by the bottle. The homemade pastas are melt in your mouth.
Amis brunch is totally different from Amis dinner. Go for dinner.
We had a 6:30 reservation at another restaurant that we were told had been cancelled when we arrived. I checked open table, and Amis had an open reservation at 6:45 so I jumped on it. We rushed to the restaurant and got there 10 minutes late, but we were seated immediately with no problem. The service was great, the drinks were great, the food was great. I had the rotini with bolognese bianco and it was incredible. Thank you to Amis for turning what could have been a bad night into an awesome one!
I love this restaurant, and my last visit really was perfect. The food was fantastic and came out quickly. The service was great. I have no complaints at all, and look forward to coming back!
The service was AMAZING. our server was polite and attentive. I was truly amazed at how every one worked together, asking if we were ok and touching the table. Being a server for a few years during college, I truly appreciate when customer service is genuine.
Our waiter was wonderful. Without us saying anything, he noticed the table wobbled as soon as we sat down and quickly fixed it. The food was fresh and arrived quickly - and our wine was outstanding. It was the perfect date night for a birthday.
spot fell off since leaving vetri family; service is great though
Delicious meal! Great service and recommendations! Thank you for a lovely brunch!
Great night, staff was amazing!
We have been to Amis a number of times in the past and have always had a great experience. However, this time we felt very disappointed with our experience. In short, the restaurant was extremely loud and the food was lackluster. Our starters were good, the entrees bombed. Why did the kitchen staff try to feature skate in ways it shouldn't be featured? The skate attempts fell way short of the mark. The trout special was too salty and the pasta was ho hum. I hate to be this negative but this was our experience.
The appetizers were very good with generous portions. The entrees left something to be desired but certainly not salt!
I have seen a change towards the negative since chef Ventri sold, overall still good and
Creative cuisine, excellent flavors and textures. Highly recommended.
I was very disappointed with my order. It was unattractive in the plate and didn't taste any better. I am so sorry I didn't send it back. Will not go there again for brunch, and maybe not at all.
great apps. delicious cuisine. rotisserie chicken could use a hint more seasoning. Overall good experience.
Alicia is the best server! Very attentive and suggested a great wine.
Mom and brother in town
The staff is amazing, as always. Extremely good and inspiring service. The food, this go, was strangely poor. Every dish. I will always go back, but this was jarring.
Nice ambiance, but the food was just ok. From the reviews, I anticipated an excellent meal, but was impressed.
Service was a little slower than usual and I didn’t think my meal was as good as it has been in the past (I got the rigatoni)
Food and service was great I will definitely be returning highly recommend it
There was a long unexplained delay with our mains and then two came out with no sign of the others BUT the manager was right on this and came to our table to apologize and comp the two later mains. You can’t ask for any more from a restaurant when there’s a mistake like that; it shows the customer orientation and classiness of Amis. The food was excellent as always. We won’t hesitate to continue to patronize this restaurant.
the quality of food and presentation has changed dramatically. we won’t be back. meatballs were good, salad was so overdressed with too much vinegar that we couldn’t eat it. my husband got a chicken dish smothered in sauce that was too sweet such that he couldn’t eat it. a real disappointment.
Amis was having an off-night, due I think to trying to do innumerable delivery orders at the same time they were trying to perform for their in-house customers. The latter, Andrew and I included. suffered.
People kept sending stuff back to be reheated or ...? We had to wait after our shared appetizer for our shared pasta to arrive; then there was like 15 minutes before our entrees were even in sight.
But no, ONE only was in sight. Our server had to point out that the rainbow trout (mine) was on the same order. More home deliveries cascaded before us while we waited. When both finally arrived, Andrew's SPECIAL ENTREE looked completely thrown together and was only slightly warm. But by now it was getting late for us to get to the PhilOrch concert at the Kimmel Center, and my entree was, would you believe? perfectly edible. So we ate.
I can say all this because we were at the Chef's Counter and watching it all.
But as I began, I will repeat that Amis was having an off-night. Our server, Javas, was really good overall and in coaxing our patience, and the food itself (when it finally arrived) was as good as it always is. This was the first time we have had such an experience, and it won't prevent our returning. Indeed, I have already booked again.
We were unpleasantly surprised by the food and the very slow service when compared by multiple previous times
It seems that the restaurant changed Chefs and it is not, at this time what used to be
Hopefully will improve
Pasta dish of rigatoni’s was excellent. Eggplant appetizer was excellent. Two entree portions were both too much. Waiter should have recommended splitting. Sauce on chicken and pork chops was a little bitter.
Visiting Philadelphia for the PHS Flower Show and had a wonderful evening at Amis. The "flower show" special entree was delicious!
Thank You for making our visit so enjoyable!
Amis is a star in the Philadelphia dining scene. We have never left disappointed and make it a priority stop every time we find ourselves traveling from DC to Philly. The service is impeccable.
We have come to Philadelphia many times but it was our first visit to Amis. I am already planning another visit back to Amis! Amazing food and service. Loved it!!
Great food and atmosphere. Only downside is the tables are very close together.
