Amici Brentwood Ratings and Reviews
Four of us enjoyed our dinner........Like their hummus and bruschetta that is served with their flat bread and sour dough as a starter. We had an artichoke salad (not as good as usual) and the other couple had the Caesar Salad. I had a chicken parmesan that was a bit on the dry side and did not have enough cheese or tomato sauce for my taste. The other three persons enjoyed their pastas (cacaio e pepe, spaghetti with vegetables in a marinara sauce and one other pasta....don't remember what it was). All three individuals said their selection was very good. We had a total of two glasses of wine. One nice treat is the cookies and delicious chocolate dipping topping that is served on a complimentary basis.....very nice. Service was excellent, ambiance is pleasant, noise level is moderate. All in all a good choice.
4 for dinner on a Sunday night...seated promptly after a warm greeting from Tancredi and " the gang"
3 of us chose the Fall menu- with figs and cheese, pumpkin ravioli ,grilled mushrooms on polenta and gelato and cookies for dessert. Our other chose linguini with langoustines - everything was tasty..
We only felt bad that we brought our own wines...next time we will order one from Tancredi's marvelous wine list.
We were only the second table to get filled at 5:45pm, and since they were so slow, I don't think they were in gear yet and nobody paid any attention to us. I had to flag down our waiter several times. But the gluten-free bread was heavenly, and almost made up for the not great service. The dover sole sounded good but arrived cold. Make sure to try the melon gelato, the real deal Italian gelato. The hot fudge sauce was incredible!
Welcoming staff, professional service and delicious cuisine and cue priced as well. We were visitors, who evacuated Hurricane Irma in Florida and we felt very welcomed.
We enjoyed the complementary, delicious bruschetta appetizer. Our entrees were spaghetti vongole, perfectly al dente and veal scallopine also expertly prepared. We loved the homemade gelato with hot fudge sauce and the complementary cookies and chocolate sauce. The super Tuscan and the prosecco were very nice. We enjoyed it all.
Driven past Amici for years. Finally booked a table when my Mom was in town. Everything was done well, meaning, just enough of what you want, nothing you don't. Recommendations for wine and food were very good. There is a tv over the bar but, surprisingly, it did not distract from dining.
Could see small families, friends and couples all at tables enjoying themselves and chatting warmly with the proprietors. I will definitely be back.
4 for dinner on a Sunday night...seated promptly, after a warm greeting from Tancredi.
3 of us opted for the Summer Tasting menu- which was delicious- we had scallops, squash blossoms, shrimp ravioli and salmon. Our 4 th had langoustine pasta followed by Dover sole.
We also enjoyed Marsala gelato , berry cheesecake and cookies with dark chocolate dipping sauce. A wonderful dinner...
Hadn't been to Amici in a while, but wanted a nice, low-key spot for dinner with a friend. Food was always good, but now much better than I remembered. The menu is roughly as I remembered, but something good must have happened in the kitchen. Fresh ingredients, straightforward preparation, and friendly wait staff. Very enjoyable.
4 for dinner on a Saturday night. Seated promptly...after a warm greeting from Tancredi. Always nice to see him..it makes a difference! 3 of us had the summer prix fix menu- great spinach salad, ricotta stuffed squash blossoms and grilled wild salmon. Our 4 th, loved his grilled veal chop..A lovely evening..
Again - another wine issue. Amichi's wine by the glass price is as high as Beverly Hills. And, while their wines are okay, my friend and I decided to go with their house wine to be more economical. The wine list priced the house wines at $12.00 per glass which we found quite reasonable. However when the bill arrived, we were charged $14.00 a glass. We asked our server why we were charged more than the wine list says and were told Amichi hasn't had time to change the menu prices. It's not a big deal dollar-wise... but c'mon! I would have left a better rating if they had either honored what their menu says or if they had explained when we ordered the house wine by the glass that it was actually not $12.00 but in fact $14.00. I hate surprises.
The food was amazing and the service was excellent. I especially loved the first course soup. The bread was warm and generous. The pizza was hot and the crust was crisp with the best sauce and cheese. The salmon was well presented and tasty. We had the assorted biscotti and cookies with melted chocolate for dessert with the frothy cappuccino much to our delight. I would highly recommend Amici's for any occasion. The help was so attentive I will be booking a reservation again soon.
One of our frequented restaurants on the West Side.....Service is always excellent.....and then they show their hospitality with free cookies and chocolate dip to send you home with a smile on your face. Last night, the four of us shared 2 artichoke salads.....always delicious. The bread, which is usually excellent, was on the dry side. It is accompanied by a fava bean spread.....great. We had the following entrees: chicken parmesan, pappardelli bolognaise, eggplant parmesan and a ravioli dish. One glass of wine for my wife and I (shared). Dinner for the four of us ran $166.00 including tip.
Quaint, pleasant and warm atmosphere with terrific and unpretentious service. Food is consistently outstanding and the pasta is fresh, al dente and masterfully prepared. Dishes are plentiful and authentic. Wine selection to meet any demanding patron. The owner/gm is always within earshot and checks in from time to time and never intrusive.
Very friendly and attentive staff and owner. The warm seafood salad was one if the best items of any kind that I have ever had. Everything else was top notch. Little touches like both hummus and fresh tomatoes with bread, and a plate of cookies and chocolate sauce before desert are very endearing. Interesting and reasonably priced wine list. Clearly a popular neighborhood place for affluent Brentwood, but worth a drive from farther out. Italian in LA doesn't get much better:
Amici is a wonderful neighborhood gathering place. Food was very good; pastas were delicious, dover sole very nicely done, with sauce on the side, nice touch.
The waiter overheard our conversation about it being our friends wedding anniversary & arrived at the end of meal with a wonderful pannocotta with raspberry sauce, very elegant.
Would definitely recommend Amici to friends.
