Amicci's Ratings and Reviews
Great dining! Never disappointed with the service or food. I was there once with family and something tasted a little different....when I got I realized my Luigi dish didn’t have the sausage added and called back to inform them. They asked for my name and replaced my two entrees free of cost. The receptionist just asked me to call when I was on the way and my meals were ready when I arrived! Who does that? This is out favorite place in the city!
Wanted to try a new place in the area . I would absolutely not recommend. Let’s start with the drinks . The “lemonade“ tasted so artificial . We then tried the fried calamari & it was like a rubber band . Lastly for the main course, the chicken parmigiana was the worst I’ve ever had . My husband ordered Joe’s gnocchi and barely touched it . When the waitress came by , she didn’t ask how everything was . Instead she asked if we wanted a box to go . Needless to say , we will never return . I’m stunned that this is said to be one of the best Italian restaurants in Baltimore
We were very disappointed in the service and food at Amicci's. We have dined here before and the service and food were always good. This time the service was poor and food was just OK. One of the members in our party was gluten free due to celiac disease. We asked for a gluten free menu and emphasized the gluten intolerance at least 2-3 times. His dish came out with regular pasta and the response was "the rest of the dish is gluten free". The rest of the dish was on top of the gluten free pasta. It was then replaced. We also asked for shredded Parmesan on our dishes which took a long time to get and when the server finally brought it over she served it without looking at what she was doing and shredded it all over the table and me. Probably will not return since there are many other choices in Little Italy.
I have been to Amicci's a few times and love the food and the prices are very reasonable. It is a cute place but highly recommend you sit in the front room or at the bar~ The back room is isolated and you lose the ambience. Service is good and our reservations were on time.
First timers who tried out at a friend's recommendation and we were quite pleased. Good food and service and cozy, comfortable setting. We hadn't eaten in Little Italy proper for some time and were happy we tried this place out. We would recommend and would return ourselves. Thanks!
Our meal was the worst meal I have had in years anywhere. Our Chicken Marsala did not resemble any chicken Marsala I have every had. I can't believe this restaurant was getting 4 to 4 1/2 stars. Either Open table removes all bad ratings or the dinners have no idea what Italian food is. I do want to say the service was fine and the staff was very nice. I hate the fact that I have to give this rating. I understand this is a small business owner trying to make a living, but our night was ruined! If I don't see this review posted, I will never trust another open table rating again.
Had a 4 year old with us, first time there with a child, so we were seated way in the back, which was fine. We love the food here. It was our 3rd or 4th visit. But this time my chicken parmigiana was clearly overdone on the bottom, almost burned. Not sure if it was because they were trying to accommodate my request to lightly fry/ use less fat. Children’s menu was any pasta half a serving, that was fine. But, no covered child cups for a beverage? Service was a little sketchy, maybe because we were so far away in a little dining room with other families with children? The appetizer if sourdough bread and shrimp was fabulous. It’s really mainly very, very good Italian food and we will go back.
Chicken Cacciatore is a meal that should simmer for hours so the flavors are blended. Amicci’s was thrown together on the way to the table. Overcooked, processed grilled chicken was sliced and thrown atop pasta with barely warm, raw sliced green peppers, chunks of raw onion and slices of raw mushrooms. Warm marinara was poured over all of it. It wasn’t edible, so we sent both servings back. Everyone else at our table at their Walsh, but no one was impressed by the food. Service was almost nonexistent- we had to chase people down for water and to return the chicken cacciatore.
We won’t be back.
I can't say enough about Amicci's. It's our favorite Italian restaurant. The staff are extremely friendly and bend over backwards to please you. This is the only restaurant that I feel comfortable enough pulling a "Sally" (requesting changes to my order). The gnocchi is insanely light and fluffy but so comforting. The mussels are done to perfection. Every sauce I've tried has been amazing. You must go.
Great service and very cozy ambiance. We were recommended by our server to try one of their appetizers and it was amazing, big enough to share between four of us. Dinner was excellent as well. The only negative experience was in the woman's bathroom. They were outdated and the a little rundown.
We returned to Amicci's with a larger than usual group, very accommodating to get us seated in a fine location in the "front room".
We often go to this restaurant and have always been happy, but this particular trip, we were surprised by the service - at the outset, our waiter was just short of surly, clearly had no interest in serving us, and pretty much disappeared after taking our order - his role was taken up by other more conscientious staffers. So we had a nice lunch, excellent food, and all at the usual reasonable (for a "downtown" location) pricing.
I will say, our group was relatively quiet but a nearby group was pretty boisterous, certainly not the restaurant's problem, but the wooden floors and hard surface walls did nothing to dampen the noise level. It was loud for a while, then they left. . .nice they were out having nice time, but some sound dampening in the front room would help a bunch.
