I love this place because of the whiskey conoisseurial theme, the high-quality beverage list (the cocktails in particular are exquisite), and the knowledgeable and attentive bartenders. Plus, it's between my office and my commute hub.
However, I hate the cavernous atmosphere and the nouveau-polished concrete decor. It makes the place 3x louder than it needs to be, no matter how fashionable it was 4 years ago. I hate the fact that the place is frequently so full of frat-boy young professionals (who are often dismissive or oblivious to other clientele), to the point where it's difficult to even get a seat at the bar some days. Good for the owners, but tough to dine and drink as a single woman, as I often do.
I also find the menu a bit precious. Certain items are excellent, like the venison sliders and the broccoli doused in powdered cheese, but I feel it's veered into precious plates and a tad too far off real, varied meal options.
