Enjoy classic pub fare alongside something new and interesting with a visit to the American Tap Room in Clarendon. With a bar and dining room, it is a family-friendly spot to enjoy the latest in artisan and craft beer while noshing on delicious accompaniments.
The menu at the American Tap Room in Clarendon includes such fun favorites as a pretzel board with variety of dips, truffle fries, tacos, wings and hummus. A specialty of the American Tap Room in Clarendon are the different sliders as well as the flatbreads, but there are also plenty of soups, salads and entres to enjoy too. Don't forget dessert!
We sat on the patio and enjoyed the evening weather . Service was attentive and prompt. Food left a little to be desired - both a steak and hamburger had to be sent back because they were well done and had asked for rare/medium rare. The steak especially is hard to understand - not sure how rare = well done. The pretzel app was good if a bit too salty while the wings were a little cold when they arrived. Beer prices were high, even for Clarendon, probably about $1 more per beer than you would expect.
They had no coffee for brunch. And they admitted that their coffee machine had been broken for two weeks and that they had made no effort to find an interim solution (coffee presses or drip machines). A major disappointment for Father's Day brunch.
We were there for brunch on a weekend and were told that the coffee MACHINES have been broken for weeks. It went downhill from there. One has the impresstion that ATP is not long for this location.
Had a great time with great friends, would definitely recommend
We used to go regularly and loved the burgers. The turkey burger is no longer on the menu. My salmon Caesar had a minuscule portion of salmon that was somewhat over-cooked. Service was still very friendly and it is a very nice atmosphere, but I don't like how the menu has changed.
This is the second time we visited & the service has been excellent both times. The waiters are friendly and helpful with menu and beer choices. The menu is great with a wide selection .
Food was very average.
Have been to this restaurant about two dozen times since it opened in Clarendon. Everything has gone downhill -- the food choices, the portions, the attentiveness by the staff. Meanwhile only one thing has gone up: the prices. "Corporate," as I was told by a manager when I complained about my disappointing recent experience, has forced the Arlington location to either raise prices or cut portions. It's a downhill spiral, sadly. There are lots of choices in the Clarendon and nearby areas...American Tap Room needs to get it together to remain an appealing option.
The wings were wonderful...the turkey avocado sandwich and burger were great but not the bread and bun...they tasted old and stale.
Saturday brunch was not crowded, but they must have been short staffed. We waited about 45 minutes to order because our server never came back. Eventually we asked another server to help us out. She did her best to fix the problem, as did the chef who came out to ask folks if their food was okay, but neither the server who caused the problem nor management took time to apologize for the poor service.
