Great experience as usual, wish the music was not as loud though. It’s hard to communicate with people across the table when music is blasting so loud inside.
I went to happy hour with my daughter and a friend for my birthday on a Wednesday night. The happy hour prices for drinks was great. But, I did not find the menu very appealing so we ended up just snacking on truffle fries, Mac and cheese, and the goat cheese croquettes. It was good but I would have liked more choices for a good “meal”. The location and ambiance was very nice and we had a good time. The only negative is that my daughter called in advance to say it was my birthday so they brought out a slice of cake but they actually charged me for it in my bill. I thought that was a bit tacky.
The level of the music too high to easily maintain a business dialog
Everything was great. We got there pass our reservation time due to a delay on I-95 and Danielle the Hostess was great and was able to accommodate us. The server was great with his suggestions from the menu and his fast and efficient service. The desert was delicious and a treat from Danielle. Thanks you all for make our night so beautiful.
Great time, the servers Greg and Samara were great! The manager on staff Brent was very friendly, and welcoming!
The 2 of us hit up American Social this past weekend for an early dinner before heading to a concert at AA Arena. The restaurant is right on the Miami River which makes for nice outside dining. We had a couple of drinks and then split 3 different small plates of Black Truffle Garlic Fries, The Giant Meatball & Crab Cakes.
All 3 items were prepared nicely and they came out as they were ready, so we got the Crab first and then the Meatball about 4 minutes later and then maybe 5 minutes later we got the fries. Not a bad way to server things, it does ensure you get you food hot.
Service was really good, and the outdoor seating is very casual and comfortable (this time of year).
Great place to watch people and boats as they all returned from a day on the ocean/bay.
Plenty of TV's to watch your favorite game.
I was really worried about parking, but that became a non-issue, with Valet or on street parking.
Everything was great, service food drinks. Highly recommend
Great service! I went to American Social for a Sunday Brunch to celebrate my birthday. They sat as down immediately after arriving even though our party had not arrived. Our server was Adriana she was amazing! They had a unlimited mimosas for $25 and a tasty menu we had the Maine lobster egg Benedict, oysters, wings, burger, chicken and waffles and everyone enjoyed their plate. All the food and drinks came out with very little wait time. Our party was also able to enjoy hookah they had available. We were told when we arrived we could only have the table for 2 hours since there was another party coming. We asked Adriana and the restaurant manager if we could get another table with no preference since we weren’t planning on leaving. They informed us they will be shifting other parties around so we wouldn’t have to move from our table. We ended up staying until 5pm. On top of being so accommodating, Adriana and the restaurant manager we’re constantly checking on our table. Highly recommend and will be most definitely be coming again!
ran out of food
Was exactly the kinda atmosphere we wanted to be in . The manager took the time to welcome us and made sure we were okay. Great service!!!
Service was outstanding! Great ambience outside on the water.
Unfortunately, the service was terrible. The food came out way before the drinks. And this was on a Wednesday night with half of the outdoor tables empty. One of my friends ordered a martini and they were out of olives. I ordered a pumpkin beer and sent me an ipa
Overall servers and staff were not friendly seemed to all work against each other instead of helping one another. So many other great spots to choose from. I will not be returning.
First Time Being There And Everything Was Great . Inside Music Was A Bit To Loud But Other Then That Everything Was GREAT !
Asked for outside table with reservation sat me inside after I asked for outside there was “no space” but 8 tables empty that were reserved as well...
Over priced food and drinks. Very poor service and it wasn’t packed. New manager had to help take care of our table and items came out super slow. Beer and food was overpriced. I spend $80 on beer, wings, and fries. Never again 😐
Our server was very welcoming! Answered all of our questions & made us feel comfortable. Our food was amazing, his suggestions were perfect!
My waiter Ahmed was awesome my food was so great.I had the mahi-mahi sandwich and a bottle of wine.It was very nice place.
I was told that my reservation was for a table outside when I know for a fact I chose inside, no record of it. They had us wait for half an hour to see if anything opened up only to seat us outside still.
Indoor was too hot. No ac, kept doors closed. Server was excellent. Ended up moving us outside, thank God.
I went with my partner. I went to the restroom, while they were seating my partner. As I sat down, I saw there was water, but no one greeted us after that. I had to stop one of the servers who was busy with this big other group. When she finally took our order, finally our server came and apologized. How convenient. During the service, our server was absent. We would ask different employees for things. We never even got silverware for my table. We were also not able to tell our server that I did not like my drink.
This was my 3rd time visiting for brunch.
We made a reservation before arriving. Our table was inside but we asked to move outside. We were seated outside near the door and speakers. After 30 mins, I asked to be moved because the speakers were too loud and the table too low for eating.
We were not moved and there were 3 empty tables the entire time we were there.
We verified if ladies receive free bottomless mimosas before arriving and was told this option is still available, however while there we were told this is no longer an option. I showed the manager the message stating the mimoas deal and he stated he did not know who responded. Very strange, that the manager does not know who responses to FB messages. After speaking with the manager he removed the charge, but was reluctant.
My order was not cooked well done and had to be sent back. There is also a 2 hour limit for bottomless which we were not aware of before arriving and not the case on the 2 previous occasions.
Things to keep in mind for future guests:
1. Request a specific table
2. Be aware of the bottomless mimosa deal and the 2 hour limit
Overall, the staff was pleasant however the customer service could have been better.
Visiting from Chicago, and took my girlfriend there for Happy Hour. The service was pretty good, and I enjoyed sitting outside.
Bad service, wrong food to the table, mistake on reservation.
The host staff and our server, Caroline, were amazing!
I came to AMSO to celebrate my 23rd birthday with friends. We did Sunday brunch for a group of 7. Off the bat, I could that the hostesses aren’t the best planners or very organized. My reservation was at 1:30; I showed up 5 minutes prior. They were scrambling over our table, which was supposed to be outside. They tried buttering us up to take a table inside because they clearly miscalculated the volume of people outside. We said yes just because we wanted to be seated. As we approach our table, she asks for the final number of guests and I said 7 — our original reservation was for 10, but 3 people cancelled. She was a little dramatic and said she can’t give us such a large table. We waited 20 minutes and still got that table anyway lol.
The waiter was very kind and attentive. He catered to all of our needs, even lighting up my birthday candles and bringing plates for the cake my friends brought me.
The food was great and we didn’t have to wait too long for it. We were satisfied and it made up for the mild rough start the day had. The portions are good and match up to their price. The Mac & Cheese with fried chicken is great. The chicken & waffles are mouth watering. The steak huevos rancheros were good — my friend said the steak is okay, but everything else was great.
The valet is awful — the drivers showed up with the trunk open...at least it was just $10. Unfortunately, that’s the only way to park. At least we dropped off and got the car back quickly!
I’d definitely come back! Just be wary that your reservation can possibly become complicated. And beware of other guests — one got too drunk and started insulting my group. Luckily he stumbled away before it required security. That’s another good thing — security monitoring the area.
We had made a reservation 2 weeks and had the worst table! Yes we know it was the World Cup final and it was busy, however the turkey sandwich was dry and the bread was stale. The chicken and waffles was cold. Not very nice!
Peter was our server for a Saturday birthday brunch and he was great! He was also the ONLY person that gave us great service!!!! We did see the hostess with short hair and tattoos give him a hard time (yelling) about moving seats around for us because we requested it... which was a bit unprofessional but hey, what can I do.
I do know the hookahs are from a different company but the only reason we sat outside was to order 1 or 2 to go with our boozy brunch. If they were not going to show up at least communicate with someone and I wouldn't have to ask 4-5 different people!!I was given different times that they would show up and they never did.
Any who, the food was not that great. Most of us ordered the steak huevos rancheros and the ones who did asked for medium-medium rare and got a chewy, super well done steak. There was also an order of the hangover breakfast sandwich, not good at all. I believe the only things that were OK was the complimentary bottomless mimosas, shrimp and grits and the amazing view. Other than that our experience was not what we expected.
came here couple times with my boyfriend and it was amazing! especially the hookahs!
overall great experience and definitely coming back again with friends and families.
This was my first time coming to American Social and we were celebrating a birthday for a friend. I would have to say that I had a great time! They played great music and the vibe was really good! The drinks were good, and the food was okay.
Shoutout to the hostess! I believe her name was Nata and she was very accommodating! Her hospitality would make me definitely return!
Everything was great, except the fact that the waitress was too slow to bring our drinks.
We arrived at the bar a couple minutes late for our reservation, and this guy, Jonathan was in the hostess station. My husband greeted him, and he totalled ignored us and kept working on his tablet. After a couple minutes, the phone rang and he answered it and started to help the caller to book a table. A couple more minutes later, another girl showed up and helped us and the other patrons, that were in the line that had formed behind us, to the table.
We liked the place, but definitely Jonathan provided a horrible first impression and a terrible customer experience.
The waiter was great and the food was great but seems like there is a management problem. The music was too loud, hostess and another waitress not properly trained, glasses & outside patio dirty.
Fantastic experience recommended by a in-the-know friend! Came for dinner with friends and enjoyed every moment of it. Great location with a picturesque view, delicious meals to share and interesting drinks menu. We were helped by Craig who did an outstanding job making our dinner memorable. We will definitely come back again and again and again and will recommend American Social to our friends.
We went for brunch today and I just want to say that we had the worst experience in a restaurant ever. Not only did the server Christopher take 15 minutes to bring us water, he then took another 15 minutes to take our orders. We were never told that there was a special from 12-3 where if you order an entree you get some free mimosas so we ordered drinks. We asked the server about it and he said they don’t mention it unless we do. We were there for the first time ever so how would we know what they have? The worst part was how horrible the general manager Jonathan treated us. He was rude, disgusting and you can tell he did not care for his customer service. American Social lost the service of 6 people today and all of our friends as well. Jonathan should not be the GM of the establishment if he can not learn to deal with customers.
We celebrated my wife’s 30th bday. Great place, great vibe and our server was awesome and attentive. I recommend the chicken and waffle. Their plates are huge where you can share.
We thought it was a good choice to perhaps see a bit of World Cup, replays etc. We have been there once before, sat outside, food was good, loud but not impossible to hear.
Our friends arrived first, gave my name, as I had made the Open Table reservation, and were seated right away.
We arrived and gave my name and were told that even though I had made a reservation they were not accepting same day reservations and had no table. I did not see anywhere on Open Table or American Socials site that stated this. And oddly, my fiends were seated using this very reservation.
The front desk girls were a bit confused.. After 10 minutes they “found” a table and as we were led to the table we passed our friends who already had drinks. So we sat down, ordered drinks and realized we could not hear a word anyone was saying. The music is over the top loud.
We ultimately decided to have one drink and have dinner elsewhere, paid our check and left.
Our server Kylie was very accommodating! Just had the happy hour burger for $8 and fries added for $2 ...surprisingly good sized burger and both burger and fries very good! Friend had cobb salad which was HUGE!! Someone else had all you can eat tacos for $16 (shrimp, chicken, beef) Music playing was fun and nostalgic...Nirvana, Pearl Jam, etc!
Food was great but service was not good. We ordered an app and it didn’t come. We told the server after our dinner came to just forget it and not bring it out. 10 minutes later it showed up at our table. Drinks took forever from the bar and refills on soda took just as long. I’m sure we just had a poor server because the food was great and the seating right on the river was great too. We wanted to stay a while and enjoy the outdoor patio but the service was so bad we ended up moving to the bar where the bartender was great!
It was a good experience until they told us that the reservation was just for 2 hours and we have to leave the table and stay drinking inside, when we were there they kick us in a bad mode from there again.
Time limit on tables for brunch, while still consuming? REALLY? Without to mention the arrogance which the "request" to leave the table was conducted. Lost a few clients with the one!
