Chef-Owner Neil Ferguson looks forward to welcoming you through the door at American Seasons... to relax, unwind and allow his team to take care of you for the evening.
Fantastic in every way food , service and ambiance.
Everything was terrific. Our waiter, Chris, did an excellent job of explaining the menu and the food preparation. It help us with our decision-making and menu selection. His commentary enhanced the dining experience and recommendations were perfect. The food was thoughtful, inventive, and delicious. The service was complementary to the experience and unobtrusive. My best friend had never been to American Seasons and was very happy with the dinner and the restaurant. I've been to American Seasons before and was very happy that AS exceeded my memory from last year.
Exquisite place on all fronts
Outstanding restaurant. From the bread to dessert. Totally top notch.
Hey, it's Nantucket, prepare to spend some cash! That said....
FANTASTIC meal. Went with my mom, 12 year old daughter and family friend. Menu will change a bit on a daily basis depending on what the Chef finds. Menu is a bit eclectic. You will want to be prepared to stretch your horizons a bit. Service was outstanding, and the restaurant itself is very nice. Give it a try!
Absolutely an amazing and creative chef- staff was at the top of their game.
A must go!
Very nice waiter. Menu explained . Wine recommended. Good rolls. We all had different food and it was all very good.
An excellent find. Outstanding food. Chef’s creations were surprising and delicious. Service was very professional and friendly. This is now our go to place on the island.
Not as memorable of a meal as I have had there in the past, but definitely a nice, upscale dining experience.
Very few tables full. It it was Sunday night. The woman we dined with brought the owner/chef a piece of pie. He never even came out to say thank you or to see who sent it to him. I found that poor customer service. Also, the bartender was dressed poorly. Jeans and a long sleeve logo wear shirt that was not logo wear for the restaurant. It seemed to me to be a “tired” atmosphere. Food was very good.
Chris was outstanding. Food best we had in Nantucket this year.
Cozy lovely dining room remains much the same as when we came here frequently. .
Quit off season night in a Nantucket but was nice to see them open with a moderate crowd
Everyone agreed it was a lovely dinner. Took away one star for the soup appetizer as it was a large scallop and
Would have preferred the local bay scallops which were in season as the garnish
Great spot on the island with very interesting and challenging menu
The food was fabulous. The waiter only offered a 3 course harvest menu. I’m not a big eater so I was disappointed that an ala carte menu wasn’t offered. Otherwise his service was great.
Food was delicious. Atmosphere lovely. Service excellent
Warmly lit, romantic setting is perfect for the creative food and terrific service. Had heard lots of great buzz on American Seasons over the years, now we know why. We will be back.
Max, our server, was five star. The ambiance was exquisitely romantic and relaxing. Friendly patrons in a Nantucket gathering place. At the end of our meal, we were speaking with another patron and sharing with them it was our 30th wedding anniversary. Max, our server, promptly brought out to cordial glasses of port. A nice subtle touch of acknowledging our special evening. Food was flavorful, chicken a bit salty for my taste buds but balance well with lyonnaise potatoes. Highly recommend this restaurant for a true Nantucket top of the line dining experience.
Great experience. The waiter was very knowledgeable and gave us some terrific recommendations. Excellent menu with fresh ingredients, prepared creatively. Will be back!
I always enjoy American Seasons and the restaurant week menu is a fantastic deal. Except for some overcooked chicken the meal was delicious but the dinner was marred by our table which was in the path of the waiters’ wine closet so they consistently brushed past me and knocked my chair or shoulder. This was most irritating. It also become uncomfortably warm to the point that I had to step outside to cool off. Make sure you ask for a table along the wall so you won’t get hit and maybe you can even crack a window. I will refuse this table in the future.
Both the food and service were excellent!
Always absolutely on point! The fall menu is spectacular!
New York restaurant quality in an unparalleled romantic setting with attentive and sophisticated service. Candle lit and just right amount of noise.
Great food and good wine list. Pricey but worth it. Small, cozy place.
Without a doubt, one of the best meals of my summer. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. There were seven of us - and we all had FABULOUS dishes. Not to be missed if you are in Nantucket.
We were hesitant because of recent comments about the quality of service, but we had a lovely meal and very good service. Granted, the restaurant was not overly crowded as it was a Monday night and early in the evening. American Seasons has a lovely garden feel and slightly funky vibe. Very peaceful and the food is excellent.
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. From the warm greeting to the unique atmosphere to the impeccable service to the delectable culinary choices this Nantucket restaurant is a gem. The chaf is a master at melding a variety of ingredients and flavors. The desserts were out of this world. It was the finest dining experience we had on our vacation.
Amazing food, cocktails and service. Come prepared to spend a lot more than you plan though!
Unfortunately the service was not very good. The menu was a bit limited but what we ordered was fine. I would not race to go back.
We have been eating here for many years - the ambience is lovely and the food and service are usually top notch, but this visit did not measure up. The menu was not that exciting with no salmon, tuna or swordfish - just white fishes (we ended up having chicken and beef) and our service was good but not great. In Nantucket where every restaurant is good -and expensive, we expected a little better. The cocktail menu was great as always - I recommend the Depeche Mode. The Wines are good but (expectedly) wildly overpriced.
Amazing food. Service was odd. We were left unattended for long periods throughout the meal and our waiter had a really weird attitude. He seemed upset with us. We will return but hopefully not with the same waiter.
Excellent service, and great for a special occasion. Great wine selection.
Always delicious. One of our very favorites on Nantucket.
We loved the restaurant but it was uncomfortably hot making the dinner less enjoyable.
We have been coming here each summer for a number of years and the food and ambiance never fail to disappoint. A gem on the island.
Very enjoyable evening for my wife, granddaughter and me. Excellent, attentive and personalized service. Charming staff. Our favorite and most memorable meal in Nantucket this summer.
Great food and Ambience. Wait staff could have been better informed about the dishes and ingredients, also better at making recommendations. We were served by a young woman who seemed a bit disinterested in the job. We noticed a young man serving the next table who was clearly involved with the patrons, friendly, making making recommendations and he seemed genuinely interested in his patrons having a lovely evening, in essence doing an excellent job. We had read reviews of this restaurant before going with the only negatives mentioned being another specific wait staff. We were relieved not to have been seated in his section. Not sure if it is that difficult to find good staff on Nantucket in the summer or if this is a training issue, but it seems like a relatively easy problem to address. Not sure why it hasn't been.
I had been wanting to try this restaurant for some time. We were shown to a table inside that was close to an area inhabited by the wait staff. They consistently kept bumping into my chair. Our server appeared that he couldn’t be bothered, almost snooty in his approach. When he asked for our drink selections, I asked him some questions about the menu, so I could pair a wine selection to what I ordered. Again it was like I was asking too much. He ubruptly departed and came back soon thereafter expecting us to order. We did. The vegetarian selection was quite good, the wine selection by the glass was inadequate. But mostly the evening is made or broken by the wait staff and here American Seasons failed impressively. Last time here for me, however, it may have been a one off.
Good food. Very good service. Ok ambiance. Overall good but limited menu
Hands, this place is a consistent favorite of mine. I’m a serious cook and a serious eater...I always leave here inspired and satiated by the beautiful and delicious preparations on the menu. A recent special of seared fluke on a silky purée with lightly sautéed radishes and peas was outstanding.
Been coming here for years. Best meal on the island and just as good as it’s always been.
