The food was fantastic. The lobster chili was amazing and the steak was cooked perfect. Best steak house I’ve eaten at in NYC.
Liz was absolutely amazing! I have a gluten allergy and she went above and beyond to make sure my dinner was gluten free! Will be returning and recommending!
We had an amazing meal. The waiter were extremely kind and attentive. The food was excellent. Would recommend for a nice night out!
We had American Cut before our show last night and it was wonderful. We had the filet and Brussels and they were both great! For dessert we had the creme brûlée and it was very good but very small. Would definitely recommend!
I visited American Cut Steakhouse Midtown on 2/15/2020 to celebrate my engagement and Valentine’s Day. My reservation was available early and they had a live jazz band near the bar area. My service I experienced was superb from being to end. They had coat check available as well for those guess who would like this service. They made my evening truly special and special thanks to all the staff and the chef for a lovely dinning experience!
Repeat customer and I love this place. Wonderful, delicious food on Saturday and Liz our server was AMAZING. Love to split the Porterhouse for two. Great option for when guests are in town.
Bachelor party, small group of 7. We had a great experience! The service was impeccable and the food was amazing!
Overpriced, steaks not good and wine ridiculously prices. Would never go back
The food was good. Our waiter gave us some issue with my allergies with the vegetables but other than that the service was okay.
Went here last week to celebrate my husband's birthday. Sat in one of the side rooms which was perfect because it was a Friday night and packed. Please make sure you have Elizabeth as your server, she is phenomenal. Friendly, enthusiastic, warm, knowledgeable, and personable. It was the best service I've had anywhere. The food was outstanding. The filet mignon had a beautiful seared crust on it and their housemade steak sauce is phenomenal. Oh man, the bread basket! They give you homemade whole wheat everything biscuits. They were so buttery and flakey and it's served with a vegetable cream cheese. The guy at the table next to us was from the South and he raved about the biscuits we had. Their thick cut bacon is from a local butcher and then they put their own sauce that they create on top of it--delicious. Their ice creams are all made in-house. They brought us the cracker jack sundae for my husband's birthday and it really tasted just like a cracker jack! There wasn't a single thing we had that we did not LOVE. The drinks were equally amazing (I had one of their specialty martini's) and their wines were impeccable. We dine here again in a heartbeat. Oh, and they had live jazz!
Our server was fantastic and read that I had gluten allergy which was included in opentable reservation. Old fashion was made well too.
This place is great. Matt the bartender is attentive and is great at serving dinner at the bar. The complimentary warm everything biscuits are the best complimentary bread you will eat in a restaurant. Everything is really good
Absolutely delicious wonderful restaurant week
Loved the ambiance and decor of the restaurant. Food was really top quality, and service was kind.
Food, service and ambiance were great. Was a great experience until a manager offered to buy us a drink at the bar to allow another reservation to be seated and literally stood over us while we settled our bill. Very pushy.
Chaotic night....After waiting 1 hour past our reservation time, we were finally seated. Food was good not great. Service was excellent by the wait staff. Unfortunately it was a bit of a ruined night because of the hour delay. we had to rush through dinner to get back to our babysitter and child.
The place is just too loud, like most NYC restaurants now. Good luck trying to have a conversation.
Wonderful. Wait staff was very attentive, food was delicious an overall amazing dining experience.
Beautiful place and quick foods; however, there were some issues.
Went there for a business dinner. Ordered a medium rare petit filet which arrived overcooked. Since there with colleagues I did not want to be the guy who sends back food so I ate part of it.
When it came time for the bill, I split the bill for the team with a colleague. I signed my bill but my colleague went to the bathroom. The waiter came to us and I explained to him that only one Bill was signed and that the other would be signed when my colleague returned from bathroom. He told me I need that. I said he will sign when he gets back. My colleague came back, signed his check and we left a few min later. As we were getting up, the waiter ran to our table and asked for the signed copy of the second half, as if he thought we would skip out without tipping him on half of the check. Very rude. I told him it was on the table.
The food was very good, however for such a high end restaurant, they brought 2 pieces of bread on a small saucer and when I asked for more( it’s delicious) took a very very long time , I had to ask again, that’s poor!!! Bread is cheap!!! It will look nicer if mire was brought in the first place even if all was not eaten.
The steak I ordered was delicious by the way also the shrimp cocktail and cream spinach.
Came here for restaurant week! Honestly It was not that great I am happy I tried it out with restaurant week because otherwise I would have been really upset to waste my money. Our server was Joe and he was amazing the only positive. The drinks and food sucked would not go back.
We had been looking forward to trying this restaurant and there were a few high points. The staff were great and the ambiance was very nice. However, the food was really underwhelming. We went for restaurant week and the food felt like a catered meal from an insurance conference. Pretty disappointing and uninspired.
Great food - excellent seasoning and the service was perfect
New Year’s Eve
We had overcooked salmon, delicious bread, and Above-average filet mignon. The mushrooms and grits were probably the highlight.
We had a great server but were disappointed in the “tableside Cesar”. I say this because we never saw it made tableside. Ordered the macaroni and cheese instead got penne covered in oil and butter in tiny bit of breadcrumbs very disappointed in the quality of the macaroni and cheese. With that said they had delicious cuts of meat and the cocktails were delicious!
Service excellent. Server was great
Nice pleasant atmosphere however tables are long and not good for intimate conversation
Steak tasty but on the thin side. Definitely not 18 ounces
Sides good but nothing special
Service was impeccable
Perfectly cooked steaks- great crust on the outside and a perfect rare + on the inside as ordered.
Atmosphere had the feel of an old style steakhouse, but updated with enough modern touches that you didn’t feel like you were stepping back in time. Wonderful evening!
Horrible experience at this place.
a nightmare. we had reservations for a 8 pm dinner. when we got there we found 5 other very irate groups also waiting for their 8 pm table. we and the other groups were finally seated an hour later, at 9 pm. The steaks were served almost at 9:45 pm, way too late to eat a steak. but all would have been forgiven had the steaks been good. mine was almost cold and bland. at over $60 each, you expect better. the side dishes were diner level at best.
the staff was very friendly and kept comping us, drinks, deserts, whatever we wanted, but we did not come in expecting free food. we came in for a good meal and a nice experience. we got none.
the space it way too noisy, which makes the whole experience sad. too many really good steakhouses in mid town Manhattan. avoid this one.
I have been here several times. A little trendy for my taste, but the service and food has always been good.
Our waitress was completely over the top to the point that it was uncomfortable. It was like she was on an audition - for what -IDK. She was also MIA.
We waited an hour plus for our food, which I was fine with as I was with friends catching up.
All of this I could live with...
The thing that was unforgivable is the second we passed on dessert, the maitre d stopped by and told us he would buy us a drink if we would leave the table. When I looked at him like he was crazy, he asked again.
This behavior is completely rude and unacceptable at a high end restaurant. I will not be going back.
My mom is in town visiting and I have been dying to take her to my favorite spot in the city. American Cut always creates an amazing environment with engaging/knowledgeable staff, perfectly crafted cocktails (try the smoked old fashioned, you won’t be disappointed), and amazingly curated/balance flavors/dishes.
Food and service was fantastic! Me and my wife frequent different steakhouses and this was our favorite. Reasonably priced with a great ambiance with light live music. Waiter was very informative and timed well. Overall incredible experience.
Location and ambiance excellent. Food good. The $180 dollar sea food tower we had was over priced at least $100 for a place like this, made up mostly of clams, oysters and condiments.
My filet was tender but my husbands strip was not. Plus we had to wait over an hour and a half for our meal. They did comp us with an extra side, dessert and coffee which we appreciated.
The noise level was such you could not converse easily.
Maybe this is restaurant is for the young crowd which we definitely are not.
We went for Thanksgiving. The staff was super courteous and the restaurant manager was super attentive. The kitchen must have been backed up, as it took nearly 30 min to get our apps. Certainly a great value, and I can't accurately judge what the restaurant would be like on a normal business night. Filet was a 8 out of 10, knowing that my favorite steakhouse is a 9.9 bc 10 doesnt exist.
Turkey was dry! Disappointing for thanksgiving. Steak was excellent.
Thanksgiving dinner was amazing!! We chose steak instead of turkey which was amazing!! Sweet potato gnochis were delicious and creme brulee was great too!!
Congrats to the service, is impeccable... We went to celebrate Thanksgiving and the menu was really delicious, everything was on point.
