This was my third time at America Eats. The service was good but the food was very disappointing. We had the grilled oysters and some of them were still raw. My wife was quite disappointed. We also tried the hush puppies which were good but nothing spectacular. The main courses were average and not warm enough. Overall, I had hoped for a much better experience but was quite disappointed.

This is our place and we are sad that we won't be coming in to the Tysons location any longer but we look forward to when they open in Georgetown. We have been going to America Eats since it opened. We love it and are devoted. We look forward to seeing their faces at other Andres' restaurants.

I was surprised how bland the food was. We had short ribs with a BBQ sauce...even the sauce had little to no flavor. Very noisy, I could barely hear the waiter.

I've eaten at several of Jose's restaurants and have overall had mixed experiences at each one. In my opinion this location's quality of food preparation is not up to Jose's standards. I know this location is closing but that should not impact the quality of the product being served. Of the three of us dinning one had a good experience and the other two neutral to negative. The Clam Chowder enjoyed by one of my guests was excellent along with the Cobb Salad. The Hot chicken was mostly not eatable and so saturated with hot sauce (which tasted like off the shelf supermarket) variety was very disappointing. I personally had the braised beef short ribs which in my opinion is a very simple execution due to the cooking methods to produce such a product and the chef totally got this dish wrong. Presentation was excellent but taste was overall bland and lacking any inspiration. I'm a serious foodie and unfortunately for the 2+ bills I dropped it was not worth it. On a positive note the Jose's Gin and Tonic was excellent along with the Chocolate cake at the end which left us feeling better than at apex of our dinning experience.

We went to celebrate our daughter's birthday. I write this in the reservation notes and told the hostess and server Server was inattentive and therefore forgetful. Food was below mediocre and hush puppies weren't even cooked through (my kids asked what was the runny part in the middle). Fried chicken and donut tasted fried in rancid oil. No one even mentioned the fact that it was her birthday. Should also mention food was lukewarm and first round of coffee was cold. Atmosphere was boring. Cost was overpriced. Will not return.

They are closing in a few weeks, so this may not matter. But they are opening up in DC after closing here. We got the jambalaya, which gets raves in reviews. The meat was fatty and the whole dish was rather blah in taste. The much-touted bread basket turned out to be biscuits. They were good, but we were expecting great BREAD. They were out of the wine we wanted because they are closing. And the deviled eggs were just OK. A disappointing experience.

I understand that this restaurant is closing in a month, but that shouldn't lessen the level of service and food being provided now and until their final day. In addition, this is a Jose Andres spot in a Ritz Carlton no less. You just expect a high level of service and outstanding food.

We sat at 8:30pm and when the Sous Chef got our ticket, he was visibly angry. Not a good idea in an open kitchen. Our waiter deterred us from several dishes saying, "That's not really good," or "I wouldn't get that." He used the impending closing as an excuse for the poor quality of the food.

Drinks took an excessive amount of time especially considering that there were less that 20 patrons in the entire restaurant including the bar.

The 4 top that came in an hour after us had an even worse experience. They must have really upset that Sous.

On a positive note - the oyster cocktail was really nice. Loved the presentation.

We LOVE America Eats ! We love everything about it . The service is excellent. Chris, James and C.J. I have always loved the décor. In fact I would love to snag one of the Abe Lincoln pillows. America Eats is moving and it is going to open up my family to even more excellent food and service because we are going to explore all of Jose Andres restaurants. We cannot wait for the new location in Georgetown. We will miss it being in the Ritz Carlton but it will give us new opportunities to try several of his restaurants and see the same faces that we are so familiar with now. I cannot wait to try FISH , Oyamel and Zaytinya. My mac and cheese was spot on yesterday. It was the best. I cleaned the bowl. The donuts and jam were a great dessert for us. What we tried and really loved was the eggs in a basket. Excellent! It was light but savory. The hollandaise was amazing with the lemon foam and the salsa on the bottom. I could eat it right now. We don't miss an opportunity to get the best drink by the best bartender ever. You have to try the Tractor Pull. If you have never had it., you will crave it later. He makes it perfect every time. We'll be back next weekend again.

Wow! Was not expecting this! I have had many hamburgers in my lifetime and this one ranked in the the top five. Done to perfection! Great Bun, fabulous side salad. SOOOOO Yummy!!! But wait!!! You must get the clam chowder. I don't even want to tell you what it is because I don't want to spoil it but you must try it if you even like clam chowder a wee bit. It will blow your mind!!! Like nothing you have ever eaten!!

Five of us ranging in age from 60-78 years old had our Thanksgiving meal at this restaurant. The only thing I can think of to give thanks for, is that I will never have to eat here again. The decor of the restaurant is like something salvaged from an out of business Lonestar Steak House. The restaurant is NOISY and the chairs are so low compared to the table that two of us had to request pillows to get us high enough that our chins were not resting on the table.

The holiday meal was a buffet (not stated in the info when we made reservations), and therefore, one of our people could eat hardly anything because of a serious salt restriction. I put this notice and request in my reservation information which I made two weeks ahead of time, and yet it took the restaurant til NOON on THANKSGIVING DAY to call me and let me know that the meal was a buffet. If they could not meet the dietary requests of my guests, they should have notified me immediately upon receipt of this request and I would have been able to make a reservation where the food would have been prepared specifically for my guest.

The buffet (I use the term loosely), had no salads, no fresh veg or fruit on it. The items that were on it were mostly inedible due to flavor and texture balance issues. The two exceptions were good mashed potatoes and roasted foie gras. The remainder of the items were either too salty, too sour, too bitter or too dry to be considered edible. Jose Andres should go back to Spain and take his horrible recipes with him. This was an absolutely dreadful dining experience.

Ate here last year for Thanksgiving and was extremely impressed. Food was delicious, presentation was impressive, and service was excellent. This year, there was a buffet. Not as nice. By the time the food was picked and I got to my table, the food was cold. Wish you would go back to the first year.

The service was great! The biscuits are fantastic, I had the Mac and cheese , and the scallops. Fresh and the lemon infused sauce wonderful. The only disappointment were the oysters Rockefeller . The oysters tasted a little off. It is my second time at America Eats. I will return and highly recommend to friends!

Lots of fun. Casual atmosphere but top class food with tasting menu equivalent. Great service. It is in the Ritz but the valet is cost is covered by the restaurant (or maybe it was $4 but that's cheaper than parking yourself) so do it. American menu extends to wine and beer options but that helped us try some new wines that were very good with the food.

Hit the spot. For breakfast try the pancakes. Huge stack! Don't miss out on the scalloped eggs which is like a masterpiece on a plate. It is country ham bits, potato bits, fried eggs with hollandaise sauce with a lemon foam. It is delicious. First time I tried the hot chocolate and it did not disappoint. It was seriously one of the best hot chocolates ever.

After a wait for our Open Table "reserved" table for five confirmed two weeks in advance and our call that day to request a quiet spot, if possible, the hostess walked us to an enormous table for 10 in the middle of the room. When I questioned the table, she replied, "That's all we have." I saw a table for six in front of the open kitchen, which we took. There were excessive waits for drinks, food orders, delivery and my side order was forgotten. The food was good, but unremarkable. I simply could not believe this was a Jose Andres restaurant - in the Ritz Carlton no less.

We really enjoyed the food and the staff was very helpful and informed. The bread and the drinks were equally delicious. As a local resident, I was grateful that we were able to get a table at a short notice on a Sat, which has become so difficult since the train came here. But I am afraid that wont last long after the rowdy Tyson's crowd really discover this place. Hope they don't.

Because "Jose Andres" was attached to the restaurant, I expected more but came away disappointed. I think "unremarkable" best describes the food and the service. Definitely not worth the price.

This was our fourth time here. It seemed like there was a new manager. Although we had a reservation, we were initially seated in the bar. We asked to be moved, because the bar had that wet mop smell. So did the dining room. The wait staff seemed untrained. I asked if I could get the fried chicken dark meat only. I was told I could not. I'm sure if the manager we'd worked with on previous visits had been there, he would have said he could. The table next to us had terrible service and complained vocally. The server responded that it was her first week. No manager appeared. We seem to have lost a standby restaurant.
