The staff was attentive and pleasant and the food was outstanding!
Another great meal at Amen Fish. I had the raw sampler which was fresh and delicious. My wife had the fried shrimp platter along with the frozen peach sangria. Again excellent. Service was great and the pricing reasonable. Highly recommended!
The shrimp appetizers were awesome! Staff is friendly.
The food was delicious and our waitress was super nice and attentive. Unfortunately I am not always good with remembering names so I apologize for not mentioning our waitress’s name. The food was very nicely presented and very tasty.
Amazing experience. A little pricey but definitely worth the money!
Would have been 5stars across the board if you could get the happy hour specials at dining tables!! Those of us with kids would like to sample the delicious deals without our children haveing to "belly up to the bar"!
Food and service were GREAT!
Always love eating here. We never get disappointed. The Shrimp and grits are the best in town.
Delicious food!! Great restaurant.
Great atmosphere, great food, best waitress ever!! And the key lime pie....to die for!!
Everything was great! We were at a high top with excellent service, window seat. Every food item that we ordered was sublimes... hush puppies are a MUST. And the blackened mahi mahi—- mouthwatering!
Food was excellent. Server started out with superb service and then disappeared for awhile before ending up okay.
The food and the service were excellent. I have been here numerous tines and was never disappointed.
We were looking for a good local-ish seafood dinner in the French Quarter. While Amen is smack in the middle of the tourist area, there were definitely locals in spades. We quickly found out why. The menu has some chef-fy items with a few interesting twists. We had read about the shrimp corn dogs so of course we tried them. If I'm honest, they are more of a novelty than being an extremely unique flavor. The coating is certainly more corn dog like than typical breaded shrimp batter, but flavor wise it was somewhat close to standard fare. What did make it unique were the home made cocktail and tartar sauces. They both were very fresh and helped bring out the crafty nuance in the food prep. We also had the baked oysters (Rockefeller) and found them again to be prepared with fresh carefully proportioned ingredients. This well thought out attention to the flavor details without simply salting and garlic-ing their way around the kitchen was like a breath of fresh air and carried over throughout the rest of our meal. In all, we were pleased with the food, service and atmosphere at Amen. Would definitely go back on a future trip to Charleston.
Night out with our boys!
Great location off Bay Street in the historic district, and close to the water. We sat outside on their sidewalk/patio which was great for people watching, and the waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was good but not great, relatively reasonably priced, and the best thing was their unique and delicious shrimp corn dog appetizer. It's a nice spot if you're in the area, but not necessarily worth making a drive to get there.
Food was good. Our server was not great. We were asking her for suggestions...like what is a popular dish that people order a lot there. She basically just named all the items in the menu. She stated all were good. We were asking which fish would be great as blackened. She stated “Well it really depends on what you like..”. No personality at all. She just seemed like we were bothering her with our food questions. She was blonde and on the heavy set side. Did not enjoy her at all.
Phenomenal food, fantastic service and wonderful atmosphere. Everything came out promptly and our waitress was a star.
Best she-crab soup we had in Charleston and we tried 4 different places!
Food was really great! Husband tried Shrimp and grits (even after he insisted he does not like grits) and really liked them! Lots of energy in this place, so not the place to go for a quiet meal. Everything come out hot and pretty fast. Drinks were really tasty, too.
Fried shrimp was good, wasn’t crazy about the corn that came with it.
Amazing meal! Best shrimp and grits I’ve ever tasted. The fried seafood platter, she-crab soup, and hush puppies were outstanding as well. The service was top notch. A little pricey but definitely worth it.
Had the best She Crab soup and Shrimp & Grits I have ever eaten in Charleston after coming here for almost twenty years! Our server was also very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!
Excellent every time. Great fish. Local and prepared fresh.
Great find! Fresh seafood and great service from the bar tenders to the wait staff. Will definitely be back!
It was fantastic! Definitely will come back again!
The food was good, but a little pricey for what we got. I’d say the highlight of the meal were the specialty cocktails crafted by an excellently skilled bartender. I ordered a non-alcoholic beverage and that was even made to taste delicious. Our server was very matter of fact and came across a little rude. Overall we would come back for happy hour during the week but I won’t take out of town friends on the weekend.
Food was fantastic. The staff is friendly and helpful. Best Calamari ever!
Great raw bar selections, local oysters from safe storage allowing local flavors out of season. Not trying to reinvent classic Charleston dishes with kale and Brussels sprouts like some seafood places we dined at, just stylish presentations with fresh, local ingredients.
We had amazing meal and amazing service! We had the Red Drum fish and the Shrimp and Grits. Both meals were prepared exquisitely! We had a excellent waitress who went over and above to recognize our special occasion. We highly recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for a high-quality meal in a nice ambiance.
We went there for the fresh fish raw bar selection. It was just what we expected - excellent. I really like the fresh red fish and the calamari appetizer. Service was excellent.
Some of the best risotto!
Great seafood in a casual setting. We went back twice.
food was great , seafood fresh ,great menue lots of choices service great
Had reservations but still had to wait. Smart casual must mean t-shirt and flip flops. On the upside, food was good and the waitress was very good.
2nd time at Amen Street. Happy Hour is a great time to have oysters!
Food and service was good. Restaurant accommodated additional people to the party.
The she crab soup was the best ever eaten by the local couple who accompanied us. Three of us had the fried seafood platter, which was uniformly delicious. I had the grouper, prepared with herbs and served with succotash. Delicious! Will definitely return!
As always a wonderful meal. One of my favorite places to eat in Charleston.
Great food, good service. As landlubbers we love the chance to get great seafood!
My wife and I enjoyed fresh batch of oysters, tuna tacos and fried shrimp. Especially enjoyed the tacos. Nice casual atmosphere and moderately priced.
