Best Tuna Tacos in Charleston !
I love the sauce and the fact that the tuna is chopped up and tossed in the sauce and lettuce!
Our party thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Great scallops meal!
Food was great. Lindsey was our server and did a tremendous job. Calamari was a bit breaded but they replaced it with great oysters. We had a good time.
A great salad, wonderful scallops, and overcooked, not particularly fresh grouper. Mentioned it to the waitress, but didn't send it back. Should have.
We were in town for a very short time and are soooooo glad we found this place. Our waiter Michael was spot on with his recommendations and could not have been more gracious and hospitable. The food was fabulous! My husband had the shrimp and mushroom risotto,my son had the fried platter and I had the crab cakes. Everything was done to perfection.
Our children were visiting from out of town
PHENOMENAL!!! best oysters and mussels ever
Great food and service! Table near the front door on a chilly night was a problem....need a two door entryway.
Great dinner! We were travelling with friends and went to Amen for seafood dinner. Everything was delicious-especially the key lime pie! We were going share one piece and ended up getting one each for all four of us.
Food was very good but service was very slow. It took over45 minutes to receive our appetizer. The entrée was served soon after.
Everything was wonderful! Our server was very busy, but was super friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic! We will definitely return!
One of our favorite spots for lunch on our trip, went twice!
delicious fried shrimp! authentic vhs food. noisy table of 16! bridesmaids right across from us.
Amazing oysters and perfectly cooked fish. Exactly what we were lookin going for. A tad noisy but was very convivial. Waiter attentive and amusing. Not at all stuffy.
Great restaurant!!! Great service!!
The kitchen was a bit slow, but we were not in a rush. Our server, Gracie, did a great job of explaining speciLs and other options/combinations that were not clearly indicated on the menu For example, we could select two sides if our fish was prepared a certain way.
In Charleston for a wedding and wanted raw oysters. Did not have unlimited time so wanted a place that took reservations. Amen Street was convenient to get to from our Meeting Street hotel. It was busy but we were seated in a timely fashion and the service was quick and efficient. We had a dozen local oysters and a dozen specialty. They were clean and good , just not the best I ever had. The biggest disappointment was the baked oyster appetizer, five tiny shriveled up oysters covered with a little spinach. The best dish was the scallop entree. Blackened grouper was good, just not exceptional.
Took over two hours to have the dinner
Bill had four items that we did not have
Manager kept apologizing - over worked kitchen but p s oysters were already shucked so that could not have been the reason
Poor service from beginning to end
Disappointed as it was our last meal in Charleston & the only meal that was a failure
Restaurants were wonderful but I would steer clean of Amen
A nice raw bar, in pleasant surroundings. knowledgeable wait staff, and very good seafood.
We had an great time in Amen restaurant. Be smart an make reservation because this restaurant is top in the list of good and nice restaurants in Charleston. Till next time.
The only good plate I had was the clams, very fresh, the rest of my meal was horrible, my flounder sandwich was all bread, very disappointed .
The Shrimp and grits and pan seared scallops were awesome. The scallops were cooked to perfection and the use of the gastrique was fantastic. The balance of the scallop's sweetness and the slight bite of the kale was spot on.
Excellent food. Must have, the shrimp corn dogs
Very disappointed. I made a reservation 6 weeks prior and we were given a drafty high top table off in a corner that looked like it was in the restaurants service station. Note that we were with two elderly people who could barely get into the high seats. When I asked to be moved to a booth or regular table we were told to wait until another party was done (about 20 minutes). This table was directly next to the front door so the noise and cold were a problem. Meanwhile other tables of our same size (6) were being seated immediately in the main dining room. The food took a really long time to come out. Two people ordered steak medium well. One was cooked fine. The other was raw and could have walked off the plate. We did not ask for a new one but simply that it be cooked a little bit longer. After about 25 minutes and everyone was done eating they brought a brand new steak also raw and not edible.
I've lunched here several times enjoying it. Dinner was very disappointing. Signature crab cakes tasted like mayo and not at all like crab. Veggies we're very salty. It was a very busy night during CHSs Food And Wine festival so this time I'll chalk it up to circumstances. Not the chef's best night.
This is an excellent eating place that I chose randomly. We were disappointed only in the limited number of fish paltes on the menu. But the food we had was excellent as was the service. The oyster bar is a treat.
Enjoyed dinner so much that we went back the next day for lunch! Our server Kerry was outstanding...a real pro!
Everything we had was delicious! Starting with the Bloody Marys! They infuse their vodka with jalapeños, so everything is nice and spicy. The garnish is a real salad - pickled okra, pearl onion, green olive. My husband had a delicious fried flounder sandwich, with some of the best fries ever. I chose the tuna tacos. Out of this world, with sushi grade rare tuna! Yum! We bought bottles of their hot sauce to take home. Lindsay was a terrific server. We'd go back in a heartbeat!
Good food great service
Amen St. is always on our agenda when we are in Charleston. It never disappoints. The she crab soup is wonderful as are the fried green tomatoes. You can't go wrong here.
We sat at a high top table in the bar area. Our waitress was delightful. The food was delish. It was our anniversary and a round of drinks was covered for us. Had a great time.
Great introduction to my 18year old with a nice raw oyster selection. Dishes were tasty. Nice atmosphere.
This restaurant has great ambiance and service. The food was ok but a little bit over priced, especially considering the competition in that area.
The food was absolutely fantastic best filet mashed potatoes my husband ever had !! Loved it!!!
The food is always great. The service is also great. Fodd wlways pricey in a resort town, but worth thr money
Met family. Have been there before
We are frequent travelers to Charleston and this was our first time trying Amen. So glad we did! Had oysters and tuna tacos which were to die for! Can’t wait to come back again.
We loved Danielle, food and service were wonderful. Happy to have spent our anniversary there
Great food waiter was there with the drinks quickly never saw him again after we ordered never knew there was a pepper mill until I saw it at another table
Best fried oysters l had at any restaurants
It's an ok place. Service was great from Chris! I think it would have been much better had we been sat in the front because we were put in the back and couldn't even carry on a conversation because the noise level was so high! It was just 6 o'clock ! Anyhow, the 6 of us made the best of it.
