The Food was a step above sports bars but not special. Staff was very nice and capable. It was a good experience but not a fine dining experience.

Ashlyn was our server. She was efficient, knowledgeable , and very pleasant. We primarily had oysters which were exceptional. Will return the next trip to Charleston.

Food was tasty, but nothing special. Our group of two had entrees of shrimp and grits, and fried oysters. The dish of shrimp and grits mostly was grits. It was skimpy on the shrimp and on the andouille sausage. Fried oysters came with hush puppies and creamed corn. No bread offered. Beer and cocktail selection is good. Place was crowded and we were seated promptly in roomy booth for 7 pm reservation. Nothing wrong, but in a city with lots of restaurant competition, little stood out.

In a town with many restaurant choices, Amen is still one of our dependable favorites. If you want fish - they do fish. The oysters are fresh from interesting places. The fish items are fresh, and you have several choices for preparation. We have found Amen always delivers a well prepared seafood meal.
Particular notice to Lindsey, our server, who was funny and engaging, and very efficient.

Had oysters, she crab soup and fried green tomatoes. Only the soup was a disappointment tasting of pepper overwhelmed the sweet crab. Excellent Bloody Mary.

Mediocre at best.
Wine was awful; Crab cakes were soggy; Fried oysters were just okay.
Shrimp corn dogs were delicious which was the only redeeming item in the dinner. With all the other options I would NOT return.

Great happy hour! Cheap drinks and easy to visit with other customers (only valid at bar stools) from 4-7 pm.

Fish selection very limited. We tried the grouper- small piece and nothing special.

Skip dinner and go for oysters, crab cakes and drinks at the bar's happy hour.

Great service.

This place was spectacular. The food, the service and the ambience. We sat by the window and got to people watch while we ate. Everything I ate was delish: she crab soup w Sherry; shrimp and grits were the best I ever had ; the key lime pie was perfection.

Danielle, our server was par excellent. She helped to make our experience a great one. She was very knowledgeable; knew the menu and could give us history on the oysters and their types.

Would highly recommend the restaurant and Danielle.

We came her for our Anniversary based on the high ranking the restaurant has. While the fish dish my husband had was very good, my mussels were fair. Living in the area, I have had much better just about any other place I've been. We also had the calamari and I would consider that to be good. Unusual but good.
Can not speak to the desserts. I always have dessert but, just wasn't impressed enough to stay there so went ahead to have dessert somewhere else.
As for the anniversary part, would have chosen a different place. We have spent anniversaries in other restaurants and have at least gotten a smile along with"Happy Anniversary" from our servers. Got the feeling we were just another table.

Amen Street is a great casual place for dinner right on East Bay close to the market. Their specialty is fish and oysters (in season), but they also have a great hamburger. My wife and I had shrimp risotto this time and it was excellent. The service was great -- fast and friendly (wish I could remember her name). We sat in the window watching the people walking by. Nice evening.

The Food was delicious, very well prepared. The raw oysters were excellent. The wine paired well with the selected food. Our waitress was very attentive.

The restaurant was very noisy this evening. It would be nice if tables for two would be a little bit more separated.

Fresh delicious seafood. Oysters were not cheap, but amazingly fresh and tasty. She-crab soup was the best I've ever had. Shrimp and Grits was also superb. Our waiter was fantastic. One of our best Charleston meals. Music is too loud for me, but conversation possible. Highly recommended!

Went there for dinner. The food was just ok. Ordered the blackened grouper which was super spicy. If you enjoy no other taste in your mouth you may be a fan of this. The other dish ordered was here seasoned grouper. This was not seasoned enough. Hardly a taste at all. The portions of fish were like a child's meal. If you are hungry I would not recommend this place.
The atmosphere was very casual. Not much to speak of regarding decor as there is nothing that pops out.

We arrived from Miami today for a long weekend. We were celebrating a birthday and that person has dietary restrictions. The chef came out to speak to her and answer questions and help her find out what she could order for dinner. Her meal and everyone else's were all prepared perfectly. Everything was delicious, and our server, Casey was fantastic! At the end of the meal they brought her a special dessert and the flowers her husband had ordered for her birthday. The fish and seafood was extremely fresh and the flavors of the vegetables and sauces were amazing.

I ate here for lunch and had the best blackened fresh fish (Grouper) ever! This is the place to go for fresh fish and interesting decor as well. The lights are styled with oyster shells. Almost went back for dinner the food was so good.

Great spot! Fresh and local seafood - plenty of options. Enjoy the vibe as much as the food. We were a party of five so were seated in the front corner at a high top but it was still comfortable and we received great service.
