Amen Street Fish + Raw Bar
Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor.
The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish.
We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.
Our son was visiting. We all like oysters so selected amen for dinner tonight Food was good, but they were out of peel and eat shrimp and tuna tacos at 6:30 in the evening!.The entrees were a little too much after a dozen oysters, but the lack of these two things pushed us into entrees
Every part of each entree was delicious obviously prepared with planning and excellent execution. Our server was friendly, helpful and accommodated a special request. Try the shrimp corn dogs, breading is sweet, comes with tasty mustard and catsup if you want. It has a cool bar grill feel, paper napkins, not fancy but comfortable. Lightly battered and not overcooked friend shrimp. Slaw is a little boring but it is more decorative and didn't compete with the perfectly cooked shrimp. Fried oysters with bacon, blue cheese and chow chow. WOW
Awesome restaurant that we continue returning to... Our server “Kareoke Mike” let us laughing. Thanks for another great evening.
Micheal our waiter was awesome. We accepted each of his suggestions and we had the best meal. He really knows his stuff. He matched our wine perfectly with our entrees. He made our evening very enjoyable. We will definitely come back. He is one of the reasons we dine at Amen Street at least once during our stay in Charleston.
Amazing service and food. Our server (I think she was called Ashley) was absolutely amazing.
Excellent location on East Bay st. Michael our server was on top of all his tables and made our evening special. The oysters were large and tender! Amen is always a sure bet for lunch or dinner!
Great service & food. We loved the casual atmosphere!
Absolutely delicious! Service was friendly and attentive!
Loved it! Great casual atmosphere and excellent food! Will definitely be back. The mussels were amazing!
Great seafood and service!
Great food and attentive service. We have high expectations when we go here, and as usual they were exceeded.
We returned as soon as possible, because we loved it so much! Cool relaxed vibe, with great food and music. Slightly limited menu, otherwise would have given 5 stars.
Our table of four ordered four different dinner entrees and each of us was impressed with our meals. My friend who ordered the steak said it was the best steak she's had in a very long time. Service was also impeccable. Great experience!
Had a great dinner. Oysters were wonderful & Dannielle, our server, was very attentive & helpful. Will definitely be back the next time we visit Charleston.
First time. Had a reservation for 11:30, arrived 12 minutes early and was informed that they weren't open yet, so we sat outside until our time. Our server, Gracie, was attentive to our needs; though a local she knew little about the local sites someone visiting Charleston might be interested in seeing. The food was good. The flavor of the She Crab soup was great, the splash of sherry was a nice touch, the consistency was a bit too thick and there was only about 4 spoonfuls in the cup. The flounder sandwich was good also but the bun was very thick, sliced unevenly, and not toasted. The fries were fresh battered and fried -delicious - but the potatoes had several bruises and black spots that should have been cut off. The tartar sauce was very good. The Fried Green BLT was excellent. The House Hot Sauce is amazing. We added it the catsup and it brought it to another level of yummy. We also brought a bottle for home and I added to my gourmet mac and cheese to give it an extra wow factor. It worked! We might try it again on our next trip to Charleston.
The raw bar was outstanding, the she crab soup the best I have found. I had the seared scallops and they were exquisitely delicious. My wife had a filet mignon medium rare. It was prepared perfectly and was so, so tender. We are from Colorado so I was quite surprised by how well it stood up to our standards. My wife had the flourless chocolate mousse and loved it. We are going back before we fly home.
We ordered the special fresh catch of the day, blackened mahi mahi and it was unbelievable! One of our favorite meals in Charleston
Service and food were outstanding. Cocktails were lackluster, but the wine list had some solid choices.
Awesome restaurant with amazing seafood. Highly recommend the raw oysters and clams to start and the shrimp and grits entrée.
Had blackened grouper. The best meal I have had in many years. Outstanding!
Food was wonderful with a large selection to chose from. Several appetizers I wanted to try but settled on baked oysters which were divine. Scallops were outstanding and key.lime pie was delicious.
Got hush puppies, she crab soup, fried shrimp platter and fried flounder sandwich. Everything was very high quality and well prepared. Definitely recommend.
Great service, waitress was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Food tasted great!
The oysters were divine! We truly enjoyed our meal at Amen Street - the grilled fish was fresh and the shrimp and grits a must!
Good food, attentive service, solid menu.
Food was excellent. Server very friendly. Had the shrimp and mushroom risotto; partner had Cajun fish of the day. Fried oyster appetizer and she crab soup all excellent!!
Our service was Danielle.. Very nice and attentive.
You'll walk away happy that you came.
Mike was very attentive and provided great service. Food was awesome
Service was great and so was the food. We were lucky to have Michael as our server and he was both helpful and entertaining with his good humor. A perfect place for lunch or dinner in Charleston, SC.
Excellent food, good wine and beer selection. Service was great and was seated promptly. Highly recommend.
My wife and I visit Charleston every year and make sure one of our dinner's is at Amen. The food is always great as well as the service. It is a must stop while in Charleston.
Our first trip to Charleston and there are so many great restaurants. My son's friend recommended Amen Street and we were very happy with the choice. A nice friendly vibe, great seafood and drinks, casual atmosphere. Will pass the recommendation along.
Food & service was very good. We both enjoyed our dinner. The waiter was friendly but loud. The ambiance is typical of a bar/restaurant. The seats are uncomfortable so there is room for improvement.
Went once for lunch and once for dinner. Consistently very good- great oyster bar!
We had lunch today at Amen Street with some old friends and it was great. Our waiter, Michael, was wonderfully chatty and gave us great recommendations for our meal. We had fried green tomatoes with picked okra and onions which was wonderful. Two of us selected the grilled Grouper on a garden salad - delicious! The remaining two of us had the Grouper done in the blackened seasoning which was done perfectly and served over red beans, rice and andouille sausage - absolutely delicious!
We enjoyed a delicious meal recently at Amen. I enjoyed the shrimp and grits and my husband had blackened mahi-mahi. We also tried the blackened shrimp appetizer which was amazing! Looking forward to our next visit.
Review would have been much higher were it not for the noise level. We could not carry on a conversation at a table of two, sitting adjacent to one another. Service was great, and apologetic for the noise. Food was great. Blackened grouper was outstanding! But the noise. Perhaps it is better on a week night or at lunch.
Awesome food and service. We will definitely be going again!
