Shrimp & Grits
andouille sausage, smoked tasso ham, roasted tomato gravy over Geechie Boy local grits
green goddess dressing, blackened lemon
stuffed with spinach, tasso rockefeller sauce and parmesan
The baked oysters were excellent, as well as the fried green tomatoes and shrimp & grits.
Great food and service.
To be honest, we were extremely disappointed. We ordered a dozen littleneck clams and a dozen local oysters from the raw bar to start. Both were so tiny that it was impossible to taste much less enjoy either. The flesh was so minuscule, it fell between the tines of the small cocktail forks that we were given to use to eat them. It was a complete waste of money. Where we come from (New England), it would be against the law to take clams and oysters that small from the ocean. Our server was fantastic and that was the only high point of our meal. We would not go back.
Every part of this meal was absolutely electric
This was our first visit to Amen St. we loved the ambiance- sophisticated but comfortable. Service was great, food was excellent. A new favorite!
Mahi Mahi and red rice were incredible! Excellent service!
Food and service were both exceptional. Would hihgly recommend.
everything was delicious! We enjoyed the evening.
First time diner. Ashley, our server, was outstanding. She was provided just the right amount of attentiveness. First, restaurant was out of peel and eat shrimp at 7pm. Second, not enough bread served with the mussels. Third, I had scallops with risotto. Dish beutifully presented and delicious. Fourth, my two sisters had fried seafood- oysters, shrimp, etc. Both said the fried oysters were fantastic but the slaw was terrible. Fifth the key lime pie was great! I will be back.
The hostess worked hard to find us a table after a computer glitch canceled our reservation. She was amazing. Food was fantastic. Mahi was excellent.
Tasty fresh seafood. Enjoyed Carolina oysters. Shared several appetizers and didn't need entree, as portions generous. Great service and vibe in restaurant.
The scallops with shrimp risotto was wonderful, would definitely recommend.
The food and service was great! Scallops were amazing, can’t wait to go back!
The shrimp roll was the best I have ever had and put lobster rolls to shame. Perfectly seasoned shrimp with a generous amount on the brioche so you actually feel full instead of still hungry. The steak fries were really tasty too.
There were a few outside tables on the sidewalk in addition to the larger inside ones.
Great food and drink. Mike provided great service!
Great food and service. Outdoor dining is a plus.
Even thought they were out of fried oysters; we had a wonderful experience! Kenny the server was fantastic!
A wonderful meal but the football game was much to loud to enjoy a quiet intimate dinner for my birthday.
The bar patrons were very happy to announce that they were anti vaxers as they chased people away from their seats.
Our server was a wonderful, helpful young woman. Very polite and efficient. Truly an asset to the restaurant.
Went there for lunch. I had the She Crab Soup as an appetizer and it was outstanding! My wife and I both got the fried shrimp, and it came with “creamed corn” that was creamy and had great texture. The fried shrimp was cooked to perfection, so good. Our waitress was prompt and did a good job. This is a nice restaurant. Good place to go on a date, anniversary, or whatever.
Delicious food and great vibe in a fun, convenient location - and at a great price!
Very noisy, but toned down by 8:00. Very friendly and attentive staff. As a tourist it was a good sampling of Charleston. felt very safe walking the streets in the evening
Very good consistent dining in Charleston.
This is a MUST DO if you are in Charleston! I visited 2 years ago and was introduced to sweet tea vodka at Amen, along with very good food, and I am now an avid fan. Amen was our first stop when we got settled into Charleston this time. I tried the shrimp corndogs - FANTASTIC! Who would have thought? And the blackened mahi mahi was some of the best, if not the best, I have ever tasted (and I love mahi mahi and have tasted alot). The key lime pie is a winner too! My husband had raw oysters for an appetizer and said they were very fresh and delicious. You can't go wrong at Amen - make it one of your stops while in Charleston.
The Mahi-mahi sandwich was the best entree at the table! Better than the tuna tacos. Better than the shrimp and grits. Don’t waste time on the soup… go to Henry’s right up the street if she crab soup is what your after. The soup disappointed. The oysters were awesome. The fried green tomatoes were probably some of the best I’ve ever had which was odd and I didn’t expect that. The hush puppies were disappointing to me. They were a little under done in the middle. I think pricey but if we went again it would be worth it to purchase the things that we liked. Oysters were delicious…
Excellent choice, great food and service. We will be back next year!
I ordered the tossed salad with buttermilk dressing and a crab cake. We shared fried green tomatoes. My husband had blackened mahi-mahi magi. All were very good.
Was visiting Charleston and decided to visit Amens Seafood Restaurant. The She crab soup was absolutely delicious. We shared the crab cakes and they were just as good. Service was perfect.
so awesome! perfect location and food.
Overall a great lunch! The drinks were perfect and our meal was fresh and delicious!!
The hostess was terrible. And the way she handled other complaints was not good. But our server was amazing. And prompt. And attentive. The peel and eat shrimp was fabulous. And dinner was delicious. Would go back again. Definitely recommend reservations just due to fact of hostess not being aware.
We were in Charleston for a few days for our 40th anniversary. After searching the area we found this wonderful restaurant. Service was top notch and the food was excellent.
Great food and service. The hush puppies and shrimp and grits were amazing!
This is a very good restaurant. Prices are a little more reasonable than some of the higher end places. Nothing special but solid.
Delicious fish of the day and other 2 entrees. House oysters were tasty too.
Nice raw oyster bar and fun cocktails. The burger was tender and cooked perfectly. The seafood tower has something for everyone and the daily fish special was delicious. Be sure to make advance reservations!
Best Shrimp and Grits I have eaten.
Absolutely amazing food, great service and atmosphere! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting!
Excellent food. Very memorable. Great service. Our complements to the chef.
Would recommend and return. Local fresh dish very good
It was amazing food. Will go back for sure.
