We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.
Great anniversary experience
Ate here for lunch. Very good food and cool atmosphere.
Excelllent food and service! Selection, quality/freshness of the raw oysters was exceptional. Everyone at the table had a different meal and all were excellent
Great fresh oysters and seafood. Nice atmosphere and good service. Will be back!
We had a fabulous experience at Amen! We were visiting Charleston and a bunch of people told us to go to Amen. It did not disappoint! Oysters, She Crab Soup, Shrimp & Grits - everything was amazing!!!!
Michael very helpful and food delicious!!
Nice restaurant in great location. Good vibe and delicious food. Only compliant was that food came out so quickly that we felt rushed.
Food was great! However was quite surprised when I received the check! Before ordering, I asked the server if they could prepare a child-size blackened fish instead of FRIED fish for my 5 year old who asked for blackened mahi-mahi. The server left & came back as stated that they didn’t actually have mahi-mahi (although it was listed under that day’s fish options) but they could prepare blackened grouper for him. He did indeed get a CHILD-size portion of fish (he devoured every bite & asked for more)....for the price of an adult entree! So my 5 year old’s dinner was $29.50 while my meal was only $23.50!! Trying to support healthier non-fried choices certainly comes with a price at this establishment! I’ve requested this at multiple restaurants on par with this one & at most had a $2 upcharge to the kids price.
Had the Salmon Arugula Salad at Amen this weekend. It was so good that I'm still thinking about it. Will definitly go back the next time we are in Charleston.
It was a good restaurant but the food was really overpriced for the atmosphere. I was not impressed with the drinks as I had heard they had a great drink menu.
Can't visit Charleston without eating at Amen Street! Amazing food and great service. We've eaten here several times and have loved everything we've tried.
Good food and friendly service. Gets a bit loud at times. Quite a draft as the back door is closing every time someone uses it. The tables in the back need to be leveled, but on the whole an enjoyable experience
Calamari steaks fabulous and our waitress was great!!! Wonderful valentines night!! Would definitely go back.
Our food and service was wonderful! One of our favorite places! Do not remember our servers name but he was wonderful!!!
Valentines Day Lunch
5 star food and service
This restaurant is very attractive. The food was good, but not great. For the price, the food should be great.
Noisy bar area. Crab soup was excellent and authentic. Big salad.
Delicious food, great service! A little more space between tables, so we didn't feel like we were sitting on top of another table.
My husband said the scallops were the best he’s had! I’m not a seafood fan, but was able to order off the kids menu with no issue. I also had a horrible cough and our waitress brought me hot water, lemon, and honey without being asked. She was amazing!
Many visits to Charleston but first visit to Amen. Enjoyed dinner so much that we went back the next day for lunch! One of our top “go to’s” now!
Five star across the board. Charleston restaurants I’ve been to this year have declined in the last year or so. Amen street is a bright spot for this year and is definitely on my list for out-of-town visitors. Service great or server“Kenny” was quick efficient and helpful start to finish food was fresh well prepared at an overall delightful experience. Amen Street is now at the top of my Seafood list
The good and service were excellent. We really enjoyed the selection of items on the raw menu. The she crab soup was delicious, some of the best I have ever tasted. We also had the grouper prepared in the lowcountry style. It was delicious. Everything was perfect and it was in a great location that allowed a nice stroll to the Bay or through the French Quarter after dinner.
The food is fantastic...we loved the scallops with kale and the clams. The service is very good. We had a wonderful evening and I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Nice neighborhood dining. Delicious!
Way too noisy and fish was dry. We couldn’t hear ourselves think! Unaccomidating hostess who refused to move us when there were plenty of tables.
Food was very good for the most part. Beet salad was severely overdressed and not edible. Oysters were delicious. Fish dishes we very good. Service was excellent. We will go back.
Such an accommodating staff. We had reservations and arrived early and they adapted to us at every step of our dinner experience. Great drinks, appetizers and meal.
We ended up going early and were seated in the very back which was nice and quiet away from the bar area. We had Danielel as our server who was not only well informed but also had a lovely personality. She accommodated our party well, making sure that we had everything we appropriately needed (one of us diners was a stroke victim). We had the she crab soup and 2 different style Grouper dishes- lowcountry & blackened, also one white and 1 red wine. We were pleasantly stuffed so we did not try any of the desert.
Must try the she crab soup!
The food was fresh and tasty. I loved the fresh fish and she crab soup! The server was excellent and very prompt. Would definitely recommend!
We'd heard great things, but Saturday the 18th could not have been their best effort. It was restaurant week, but they should have been staffed for that. It took over an hour for our entrees to arrive and when they did, my wife's seafood sweet potato gnocchi was tepid and barely had any seafood - 3 shrimp, 1 small smoked mussel, and a tiny shred of crawfish in what was supposed to be pesto (it was actually tomato sauce!). My meal and my guests meals were just unremarkable and, after the hour + wait, wholly-underwhelming. Clearly ours wasn't the only table that had issues - they started passing out hush puppies in an effort to placate the crowd. Our server was delightful and handled things very well and professionally and management made a meaningful adjustment to our bill, but we'll think twice before going back!
A unique dining experience, especially for those of us not from this area. A busy, bustling restaurant. Very pleasant and knowledgeable server, great food at reasonable prices. We had 8:30 reservations and were seated right on time.
This is a fantastic restaurant, wonderful staff and just a really great place to have lunch or dinner. Delicious food in the heart of the Eastbay restaurant area. Reasonably priced.
Excellent food and service. Oysters and mussels were outstanding!
Restaurant week, good value!
Food was not good. Disappointed. Usually love this place
We had some of the best seafood dishes we have had in a long time. The ability to select a fish and pair it with a preparation - I went with Low Country and my dinner companion went with Blackened (New Orleans style) - was great. Our server was pleasant and attentive. I highly recommend.
We went when it was apparently the end of happy hour, which we will concede can be a busy time. It was rather wild. Food was delightful. Art fully prepared and delicious fresh fish. Oysters were nice varieties. Would return.
This place was great. Shrimp and grits some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Service wonderful
