About Amelia's Trattoria
Delio Susi, in anticipation of his restaurant’s tenth anniversary, refined both his restaurant’s menu as well as its interior design, to great success. Losing none of his Abruzzi roots, the food is clean but clearly Italian, and a little rustic. The warm and inviting room makes the same statement. Drawing on his architectural background, Susi plays with simple organic materials, like square slate tiles and tabletops, and brown leather tufted banquettes. The use of brick plus copper fixtures contribute to the Italian country/casual feel that serves food and wine to match. Wooden floors and European style open windows for the summer add to this ambiance. And red lamps that hang in bright contrast with the earthy tones during the day, shed a sexy flattering nighttime glow. Amelia’s Trattoria offers a personal and authentic dining experience using top local ingredients infused with the heart of its Italian chef.

Amelia's Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
It's a very intimate setting, with a nice menu. We had two salads, split an entree, and an appetizer. The soup of the day was loaded with seafood, but not as spicy as we had hoped. However it was delicious. All the portions were generous. Wait staff was attentive, but not overbearing.
Never disappointed here. Found it by accident several years ago and visit 2-3 times a year. We like the coziness of the place, the staff is always friendly and helpful and the food is always awesome. Our only "negative" observation is that the menu hasn't changed for some period of time, although the specials generally give some additional options.
I have eaten at Amelia's three times now and I am convinced that it is my favorite Italian restaurant in Cambridge. The food is excellent; the dishes are well thought out and properly portioned, and delicious. Pricing is right on point, and the staff do everything they can to make your experience enjoyable and special. I love the small size, as it makes every patron feel special.
Food was good. Had the calamari and meatballs for appetizers—smalll portions. Ordered the spaghetti w. White clam sauce, for my entree, again the portion size was skimpy for the price of $ 20ish. While the food was three stars , I felt somewhat ripped off due to the small portion to price ratio. Come on Amelia’s don’t be stingy.
We had two family members coming into town who were craving Italian food. Now generally, we would just go to some usual spots in the North End, as you can't really go wrong there. However, having recently moved to Cambridge we decided to gamble and try somewhere NEW. I know, crazy.
After a bit of due diligence, Amelia's popped up as having good reviews, was much easier to get to than the North End of Boston, so we gave it a shot. And boy, did it pay off. I would say that their gnocchi and raviolis match if not beat any that I have ever had in the City of Boston, which I can assure you is a lot. Their food is rich, seasoned well, and overall was quite a treat. Next time you're in the mood for Italian, skip the North End and go to Amelia's.
Returned for first time in couple years since moving away & was every bit as good as previous encounters. Food is just exquisite. I'm normally not a ravioli fan, but order every time there, & daughter, who I took for first time, is now another fan. Expect to see us both again.
Fabulous food & great service. Thanks! It would have been perfect, but...
Unfortunately, the tables are quite close to each other. As such, the people at the table particularly close & next to us were loud and didn't seem to realize we did not really want to hear all the conversation that they were having... not sure that a bigger space would have helped in this case.
in my opinion, they are a it under staffed for their wait staff...that did not hinder the quality of service, though. you could just see the staff working extra hard. a full time bartender would be recommended. the waiter/host/server/bartender (all were 1 guy) was phenomenal and very personable. food was amazing
