About Amelia's Trattoria
Delio Susi, in anticipation of his restaurant’s tenth anniversary, refined both his restaurant’s menu as well as its interior design, to great success. Losing none of his Abruzzi roots, the food is clean but clearly Italian, and a little rustic. The warm and inviting room makes the same statement. Drawing on his architectural background, Susi plays with simple organic materials, like square slate tiles and tabletops, and brown leather tufted banquettes. The use of brick plus copper fixtures contribute to the Italian country/casual feel that serves food and wine to match. Wooden floors and European style open windows for the summer add to this ambiance. And red lamps that hang in bright contrast with the earthy tones during the day, shed a sexy flattering nighttime glow. Amelia’s Trattoria offers a personal and authentic dining experience using top local ingredients infused with the heart of its Italian chef.

Amelia's Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
I looked up Amelia's on Yelp and over 700 people can't be wrong. This place is AMAZING! The food was outrageous. The service attentive. It's a small place but it wasn't overly crowded at the time we dined. Before even ordering, we were provided break with a hummus looking spread...only it wasn't hummus. It was cannelini beans with seasonings and olive oil from which I could have easily made an entire meal. We ordered mussels and polenta to start. The mussels were delicious and fresh. The polenta, served with sausage and fennel was served on a cutting board with a pie server. It was creamy and flavorful and I may have finished almost all of it before my boyfriend had a chance to try it. For our meal we had the short rib ragu and instead of having it with fussili, they were more than happy to serve it over pappardelle for me. Couple of glasses of wine and cold beer, and we were two happy campers. Only drawback is parking but be patient, it is worth it. We will be back for sure!!!
Amelia Trattoria has apparently been in business for over 17 years, but we just heard about them. Also they seem to own or be related to Sulmonella, which is a nearby, larger place that recently opened. Who knew?
Anyway, this place has great Italian food. Al dente pasta, delicate sauces, just really good all around. And they have a full bar that can make martinis -- they even have the cocktail onions for gibsons -- which for me takes it from being on par with many North End places to being even a bit superior.
It is small, like places in the North End, but it is comfy and less noisy, as one might expect in/near Kendall.
Great ambiance in a cozy dining space! Definitely had that "neighborhood" vibe. Everything--from the bread and spread to the entrees to the dessert--was tasty and memorable. Martin and the entire serving staff were attentive and efficient, never intrusive. The salmon was perfect; wish the veal saltimbocca was topped with fontina (not mozzarella), but the sauce was spot-on! Will definitely return to try the house-made pastas.
We were two friends getting together after several months. We ate outside where there are a few tables abetting the restaurant wall and near the street. Not much street nice. Service was attentive. We had meatballs and Ceasar Salad for starters. Tasty. For main: ravioli with mushroom sauce and spaghetti alla vongole. Moderate portions. Good baked bread. Overall -- pleasant meal.
This was my third visit to Amelia's and again the experience was great. I ordered the mixed greens salad and the chicken entree and both were excellent. My companion ordered the veal and was pleased to find it on the menu and consumed it with gusto. The service was attentive but not intrusive. We arrived early so the noise level initially was very low but only escalated to a moderate level this time. We would definitely go back again.
I cannot believe that I did not know about Amelia's until now!! We asked how long the restaurant has been there, and the answer was 16 years!! Such a lovely, traditional Italian restaurant, with a modern feel. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was beautiful. We did eat outside, which was lovely, but just be prepared that it is a busy street and there are cars speeding by your table. However, that was no big deal. What a great find!!
I was lucky enough to find Amelia's while in Cambridge for my class reunion. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. The portions are generous and each dish is prepared fresh. I have already recommended the restaurant to some friends who are visiting Boston this summer. I wish i lived closer
I was pleasantly surprised at this restaurant and that we had never been there before. I went with a friend and we both had the salmon special, which was delicious. The bread, which has a bit of salt on the top with some type of bean dip is hard not to devour.
My colleague and I really liked it! The food was very good! Nice Italian wine recommendation that provided a light red that paired well with the mixed seafood and pasta dish. The classic pana cota was a nice desert but the chocolate with pistachio desert was the bomb! Would definitely go back!
Food was superbly prepared and presented. Our Calamari was tender and the risotto was creamy and flavorful. The beet salad was delicious although could have had more goat cheese. Our entrees were also really tasty - Veal Saltimbocca melted in your mouth and the gravy was awesome would have like more potatoes and vegetables though. Gnocchi was also good and portion was generous. Lastly the pasta with short ribs was tasty with generous portion. All in all it was a good meal and we will return again.
