Good meal. Felt like we were dining home in New York!!
Very disappointed...our 35th anniversary celebration. No special mention or service. Restaurant ran out of bread. Asked for a quiet table which was not provided. Wine was opened by waitress but never attended to thereafter. Extremely noisy. Will consider another place for our next special occasion. Food was good but somewhat lacking without bread.
There for dinner during weekends away with friends. Food was very good service by a water well into his eighties was awful. The worst I hAve ever experienced. I asked the manager for help and she seemed unscathed and never came to the table to even check on progress. It was a terrible thing to do to a good kitchen
we Loved the food , the sauces are truly authentic.
They made time in a busy evening to have the Chef play the saxophone or my daughters birthday. This is our second year in a row going and we will be back next year !!!
Amelia's is fantastic....my favorite restaurant...even though it is quite a distance from my home!
Always a great place with great food. On the list each time we visit Gainesville
Great food, friendly service, excellent value.
Gainesville favorite for years!
We went for our anniversary. The food was excellent, the server's suggestions were on spot, very friendly and competent. Since it was our anniversary we received prosecco with our dessert. The almond custard dessert was to die-for.
A very enjoyable meal and evening, We will go back.
Food and service were very good. I did find that the noise level was high and distracted from the evening. This was our first visit but I am sure we will return.
Delicious portobello mushroom appetizer - very generous portion. Waiter was very attentive and accommodating. Main courses were excellent and portions were very substantial.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Amelia’s and highly recommend it.
Dinner was delicious. They were very nice about the Birthday. The chef and owner played happy birthday on the saxophone. The server was very attentive. I would recommend this restaurant.
The dinner was fantastic as always. Andy’s specials are incredible.
Portions were a little smaller than what we are used to. But overall, very fresh and tasty.
.This is the restaurant I take visiting friends and relatives to as well as dining there myself. I know the food will be excellent and the atmosphere very pleasant
We have been dining at Amelia's for several years. The service is excellent. The food is always made fresh and served hot. We have never been disappointed.
Great service. OUTSTANDING Italian food. Reasonable price, $160 out the door for 4 of us including drinks and tip.
Amelia’s is one of my favorite restaurants in GNV. The service, the ambiance, and especially the food are top-notch. The meals are handmade by a master chef and a perfect location for a date or a celebration. Right in the heart of downtown GNV. The place is a gem. I can’t recommend it enough. Do yourself a favor and try it. You will love it.
We had a fantastic meal. The salmon with sun dried tomatoes, grouper, eggplant rollatini, chicken francais were all amazing!
Immediately seated, friendly but non-intrusive wait staff, reasonable wait for excellent food, amazing evening special menu—perfect all around!
Food was terrific! I had Lasagna (meat) and Chocolate Mousse cake for dessert. The cake was so big I took half back to the hotel and ate the rest for breakfast. Knowing that was waiting made getting up easy!
Next time I'm in Gainesville, I'm definitely eating at Amelia's again.
We dine here two to three times a year on special occasions. Food is always good and service impeccable.
We have dined at Amelia's for over 20 years and have found it to be one of the nicest restaurants in Gainesville. Although numerous Italian restaurants have opened in town, Amelia's has remained best on our list. On our most recent visit, however, it appeared that the consistency of of the menu has slipped somewhat. The bread was slightly burned, the soup over spiced, and the entree heavily salted--not what we expected of Amelia's. We will try again to see if things improve, but it is possible that Francesca's has moved to the tops spot.
The Ambiance of the restaurant was very dated. Carpet on floor helped with noise but was many years passed needing to be replaced! Service was personable and great . They had delicious gluten free bread, but the rest of the meal was a huge
This is our favorite restaurant. The chef and owner Andy is amazing. His recipes are fantastic. I had the veal chop special with asparagus and mashed potatoes and it was delicious. The sauce was rich and tasty and the veal was juicy and tender. The perfect place to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Always a great meal and great service! Favorite every time we are in town
Absolute best food and service anywhere in Gainesville area and beyond. Very homey feel and very welcoming. Amazing place
Had a great meal and excellent service prior to hitting a show at the Hipp!
Chef Andy is a talented and inovated master of favor. He carefully plans all aspects of your dining experience. He makes you feel like he prepares your dinner service just for you. We are repeat customers and he makes us feel like friends who come over to his house for a great meal.
Wonderful service from Donald and a fabulous meal.
We had a wonderful time at Amelia's Italian Cuisine. It was a great evening of food, wine and great friends! I would highly recommend this restaurant.
The top quality of Amelia’s is the food. Service was slow, but it didn’t bother our group of 6 since we were deep in conversation. Great location downtown.
We go here on occasion when in Gainesville. Always an enjoyable evening. The owner/chef is very attentive with the crowd and interacts with everyone. His attentiveness is shown in the ingredients and preparation of the meal, which is always of good portion, fresh, hot and delicious! We will be back! Well done Amelia's.
Service was very slow. Waiter did not seem knowledgeable. Waiter neglected to bring the side of pasta that the menu indicated came with each entree. Bottom of manicotti shells were rubbery, however the filling was tasty. I’ve had better Italian. The house Pinot noir was average.
We went there for my lovely girlfriend's 20th birthday as we had been there before, and loved it, and we weren't disappointed. This is a fantastic place and we will definitely be coming back again.
My family and I enjoyed Amelia’s. The ambiance was really nice, but the service was a little slow. The food, however was authentic and delicious.
It was a busy Fri night so the service was a little slow but the food was delicious.
Amelia’s never disappoints. The food is delicious, the service is personal and always very friendly, the atmosphere is cozy and conducive to conversation. We love going there!
We went for a New Year's Eve dinner. We normally order wine or mixed drinks, but then I saw the "MOËT IMPÉRIAL" champaign on the menu, and had to order a bottle (we love Moet but had not tried the Imperial before). It was the best champaign I ever tasted, and I like it better than Dom Perignon.
For the dinner, I ordered the Scaloppine Francese, which was outstanding. My wife ordered a Lobster dish that was a New Year's Eve special, and she loved it.
I would definitely go back to this restaurant!
Awesome place! We always enjoy our experience here.
Amelia's is our favorite restaurant - bar none! It's our go-to restaurant for special occasions. We go for our anniversary - every year since moving to Gainesville in 2005, pre or post attendance at The Hipp, and whenever we have family or friends in from out of town. Chef Andy does a spectacular job with the menu and the overall atmosphere and ambience. The Grouper I had last week was the best I have ever had while my wife had her "every time we go" lobster ravioli. Thanks. See you in 2018!
