Always a great dinner. Chef Andy makes every occasion a special memory.
This place was great and so was our waitress. She made recommendations based on the menu and quality of the dish and not on the price tag next to it. It was very refreshing to feel like someone was taking care of you. I would give the service a 5+ and the the food a 5+ as well.
They have the best veal marsala I have ever eaten!
We have dined at Amelias several times over the years and he never been disappointed. Management and servers are cordial, food is consistently good, and pricing is very favorable.
The food was amazing and service was excellent. We were a party of 8 and everyone was very happy with everything.
Overall the experience was quite nice, the food was tasty, and the service was welcoming. I do however have to mention that for what you are paying, the food portions were lacking.
As an Italian I am always leery about eating Italian out. But I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered cheese ravioli with red sauce. It came with a house salad which was very tasty.
If you are in Gainesville, I recommend you search this one out.
Not the easiest to find but worth it.
Wonderful food great atmosphere! I will be back soon.
Just a TERRIFIC meal...consistently real good food and real varied selection.
We drove 90 minutes to see a concert in Gainesville. I looked at Open table and was easily able to make a reservation. Open table is the best. The restaurant had ambience, a good menu and wonderful service.
Amelia's never fails to impress with their outstanding food and service. Chef and owner Andy personally greets each guest at some point during your meal making your dining experience a more intimate one than the usual "here is your food/hope you enjoy it" approach found at most restaurants. We will definitely continue to frequent Amelia's.
Had a wonderful time, wonderful meal with friends. Enjoyed the sax from Andy and treat for birthday. Great experience. Thank you.
We eat there often and are never disappointed in the quality and service.
Good meal. Felt like we were dining home in New York!!
Very disappointed...our 35th anniversary celebration. No special mention or service. Restaurant ran out of bread. Asked for a quiet table which was not provided. Wine was opened by waitress but never attended to thereafter. Extremely noisy. Will consider another place for our next special occasion. Food was good but somewhat lacking without bread.
There for dinner during weekends away with friends. Food was very good service by a water well into his eighties was awful. The worst I hAve ever experienced. I asked the manager for help and she seemed unscathed and never came to the table to even check on progress. It was a terrible thing to do to a good kitchen
we Loved the food , the sauces are truly authentic.
They made time in a busy evening to have the Chef play the saxophone or my daughters birthday. This is our second year in a row going and we will be back next year !!!
Delightful dining experience. Cozy atmosphere. Excellent service. Outstanding food. Creative chef.
Amelia's is fantastic....my favorite restaurant...even though it is quite a distance from my home!
Always a great place with great food. On the list each time we visit Gainesville
Great food, friendly service, excellent value.
Gainesville favorite for years!
We went for our anniversary. The food was excellent, the server's suggestions were on spot, very friendly and competent. Since it was our anniversary we received prosecco with our dessert. The almond custard dessert was to die-for.
A very enjoyable meal and evening, We will go back.
Food and service were very good. I did find that the noise level was high and distracted from the evening. This was our first visit but I am sure we will return.
Delicious portobello mushroom appetizer - very generous portion. Waiter was very attentive and accommodating. Main courses were excellent and portions were very substantial.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Amelia’s and highly recommend it.
Dinner was delicious. They were very nice about the Birthday. The chef and owner played happy birthday on the saxophone. The server was very attentive. I would recommend this restaurant.
The dinner was fantastic as always. Andy’s specials are incredible.
Portions were a little smaller than what we are used to. But overall, very fresh and tasty.
.This is the restaurant I take visiting friends and relatives to as well as dining there myself. I know the food will be excellent and the atmosphere very pleasant
We have been dining at Amelia's for several years. The service is excellent. The food is always made fresh and served hot. We have never been disappointed.
Great service. OUTSTANDING Italian food. Reasonable price, $160 out the door for 4 of us including drinks and tip.
Amelia’s is one of my favorite restaurants in GNV. The service, the ambiance, and especially the food are top-notch. The meals are handmade by a master chef and a perfect location for a date or a celebration. Right in the heart of downtown GNV. The place is a gem. I can’t recommend it enough. Do yourself a favor and try it. You will love it.
We had a fantastic meal. The salmon with sun dried tomatoes, grouper, eggplant rollatini, chicken francais were all amazing!
Immediately seated, friendly but non-intrusive wait staff, reasonable wait for excellent food, amazing evening special menu—perfect all around!
Food was terrific! I had Lasagna (meat) and Chocolate Mousse cake for dessert. The cake was so big I took half back to the hotel and ate the rest for breakfast. Knowing that was waiting made getting up easy!
Next time I'm in Gainesville, I'm definitely eating at Amelia's again.
We dine here two to three times a year on special occasions. Food is always good and service impeccable.
We have dined at Amelia's for over 20 years and have found it to be one of the nicest restaurants in Gainesville. Although numerous Italian restaurants have opened in town, Amelia's has remained best on our list. On our most recent visit, however, it appeared that the consistency of of the menu has slipped somewhat. The bread was slightly burned, the soup over spiced, and the entree heavily salted--not what we expected of Amelia's. We will try again to see if things improve, but it is possible that Francesca's has moved to the tops spot.
The Ambiance of the restaurant was very dated. Carpet on floor helped with noise but was many years passed needing to be replaced! Service was personable and great . They had delicious gluten free bread, but the rest of the meal was a huge
This is our favorite restaurant. The chef and owner Andy is amazing. His recipes are fantastic. I had the veal chop special with asparagus and mashed potatoes and it was delicious. The sauce was rich and tasty and the veal was juicy and tender. The perfect place to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Always a great meal and great service! Favorite every time we are in town
Absolute best food and service anywhere in Gainesville area and beyond. Very homey feel and very welcoming. Amazing place
