Another outstanding dining experience at the best Italian restaurant in Gainesville.
Excellent service and food with Italian flavor
Wonderful service and wonderful food! The staff made celebrating our anniversary very special! What a romantic place to have a delicious meal!
Another wonderful dining experience at a quaint little Italian gem in Gainesville.
The restaurant is unusually located behind the Hippodone. The food was above average Italian red sauce. The service was outstanding.
We were in town for one night. Tough to find with GPS ,but definitely worth it! The food was outstanding and the service was great! Definitely looking forward to going back.
Some if the best Italian food I’ve had. The spinach and artichoke dip was some of the best I’ve had. The surf and turf was delicious and the meat was very tasty and tender. The Kids loved the lobster Mac and cheese.
yummy food, excellent service- we sat outside for dinner, nice ambiance and fans to help cool things down!
My wife and I shared an appetizer, and had an entree and salad apiece. The appetizer was the Bruschetta. It was simple, elegant and tasted wonderful. We supplemented it with a drizzle of balsamic reduction. My wife had the Veal Parmesan. The veal was juicy and tender, and with a nice light but crunchy crust. I had the Veal Rollatini. The veal there was likewise quite tender and juicy, and the marsala wine sauce was very tasty, not overly salted (as is the problem frequently in other resturants) with sliced mushrooms having just the right amount of firmness. The salads were good, better than most, and were augmented with a slight drizzle of basamic reduction. The entrees were served with a side of pasta; both of us had Angel Hair pasta with the marinara sauce.
There was nothing about the meal that was in any way lacking, and overall it was delicious; it is very easy, in my recent experience, to go to a restaurant and find "acceptable", whereas it is the signficant exception to find "delicious." This was the significant exception; this was delicious. We'll definitely be back.
Best Italian cuisine in Gainesville in a quiet romantic restaurant. Chef Andy personally greats each table and the staff is efficient and friendly. You won't go wrong having a wonderful dinner at Amelia's.
Lovely authentic feel. The food was simply delicious. Andy the executive chief/owner was kind and personable when he came to meet us. We sat inside but would love to try the patio next time which looks great. Definitely coming back again.
Excellent dinner for two on the patio. Amelia's is practicing social distancing, and the dinner was as good or better than before.
Food was delicious and service was great! This was our first time here since we’re new to Gainesville and we’ll definitely be back.
As always, great meal and excellent service. I always remember to make reservations ahead of time. Rarely do they take walk ins. Only disappointment, on the reservation I mentioned it was my birthday. Other guests were offered a free birthday dessert and in deed, the owner, Andy, played Happy Birthday to one of the guest right next to me but I wasn't even wished a Happy Birthday! So sad! However, the steamed clams, outstanding!
Literally the best place I have ever been. The service was impeccable (Drew), the food was amazing, and the owner and chef, Andy, was incredible. Aside from planning a great menu with local items such as fish and mushrooms (which he actually brought to our table to show us the variety of mushrooms), he bussed tables, played the saxophone for birthdays, called a guest who had left their credit card, visited all tables, etc. He clearly cares a lot about his restaurant and the guests that visit. I am so mad we haven't been in the two years we have lived here now! Definitely definitely recommend.
Excellent food. Perfect place of dinner before the wonderful Hippodrome productions.
As usual all was great!
The best Italian place I have even eaten. Always come back.
As always the food was fantastic and the service excellent. Best Italian food in Gainesville.
Fabulous food. Tasty and beautiful presentation. It was my husband's birthday and Chef Andy came from the kitchen asnd played Happy birthday on the sax. How special!
It was my birthday. The restaurant was not real full. The service was excellent. The food was outstanding. The chef played the saxophone after dinner to the tune of happy birthday. He visited our table often. I can’t believe this is the first time we have eaten there. We will be back many times in the future.
Very nice dinner, great ambiance and service. Absolutely would return
I always enjoy going to this restaurant. The service is excellent and I always feel welcomed even though I usually come here alone. There are restaurants in Gainesville that basically don't like sitting one person especially on a Saturday night. This is not the case here. Andy, the owner, comes into the restaurant periodically and talks to every guest. Where else in Gainesville does this happen? The cedar key clams are excellent here - fresh and well prepared.
Don't judge Amelia's from the outside! It may look a little messy on the patio but don't hesitate to come inside. The restaurant is quiet and the atmosphere is friendly. Would suggest making reservations because the restaurant is always busy. The food is delicious and the service is excellent.
Amelia's is the perfect place for a romantic dinner, a celebration or a more casual experience for a regular. The ambiance is wonderful - beautiful and elegant. Our waitress made us feel like we were the only ones she was serving. The food was delicious from the bread to the cake we took home but didn't eat until the next day since due to the generous portions. The owner/chef visited every table to make sure was alright and we go treated to hearing him play Happy Birthday on the saxophone! We know that any time we go to Amelia's, we won't be disappointed!
Very nice place for a date night. Would recommend. Reservations wouldn't really be needed on weeknights but just to be safe everyone should. A great restaurant all around ambiance good, food was great, service was great. Definitely will go back.
Food good, not exceptional. Service excellent. Location good but parking is problem. DO NOT park behind restaurant which is convenient, because they'll tow your car even if you pay the $5 according to sign. Gainesville Police Dept. will not back you up nor will the City. Receipt for parking not available hence a complete scam. Not a great experience!
Amazing food and great service!
Valentines Dinner. We were with a loud speaking couple that used foul language! The staff was very professional under the circumstances. We will not take them back again. Hopefully, our table did not offend other diners! The food was excellent as alway!
Was to late for a valentine reservation instead came in the night before. Dinner was excellent and have yet to be disappointed.
Once again, a perfect meal from start to finish. This is our "go to" place for birthdays and anniversaries and it never disappoints. Owner Chef Andy stops by the table each time, our servers have always been great, and it's a pleasure every time we dine at Amelia's. The menu has a lot of variety, and the chicken francese is so great we've both ordered it the last 2 visits. Haven't found anything that wasn't terrific, though.
Amelias has the best food in town. Chef Andy uses only the best ingredients and makes every dish fresh when you order! The Tortellini Alfredo is “Heaven on a Fork!” I cannot recommend this establishment enough.
Amelia's is reliably wonderful!
Andy is by far the best italian Chef in Gainesville. His food is always outstanding and he brings new specials often. Our favorite spot to eat in Gainesville.
We always have a great meal and have excellent service. All staff members are friendly and very attentive to customers. The food is some of the best in Gainesville.
The food is fantastic. The eggplant parm is delicious
