Amelia's Bistro - New Jersey
I have been to Amelia’s for dinner and loved it so arranged to try brunch with a group of friends. The food was great ! We had a mix of things, the French toast, steak and eggs, crab cake Benedict, lobster Benedict, breakfast burger, andddd chicken and waffles. Lol we all loved our dishes and paired with miles, mimosas, manmosas. No complaints, our waitress and all the service was great! Will definitely dine again 👍🏽
The restaurant needs to be updated. It looks rundown and out of date. The food is good but more expensive than it’s worth. My one complaint is that the server brought out our kids dinner before appetizers and our dinner without asking us. Then offered to take it back and keep it warm. The kids dinner would’ve sat under heat lamps for at least 20 minutes. That’s just gross and unsanitary.
Food tasted like i went to a local dinner. Food had no flavor. Was very bland. No going again.
Brunch was delicious!
Delicious brunch. Had the crab cake eggs Benedict. Scrumptious! The Bellinis are great and so are the tiny corn and blueberry muffins provided to all to start. The waitstaff is very kind too.
Went here for the first time. Excellent prices for such quality and plentiful meals!
Nice tapas, crostini, other small plates but also nice enteè options
I love the brunch. I have recommended it to many people and have returned myself a few times. I look forward to returning again in the near future.
Always a good time.
We were very happy with our choices! The gluten free options were great and they were very knowledgeable.
Food and drinks were delicious great options for brunch!
We went here for NYE 2019. Great menu! The gnocchi was a bit too al debate for our liking, but amazing flavors across the board- the short rib was FANTASTIC!
Nice and cosy place with good food.
Waiter/owner was very friendly, but a little distracted.
I would recommend people to eat here for sure.
Hadn’t been to Amelia’s in a while, thought would go back and give it a try. The food is, well, just ok. Not bad by any means, but far from great. And it seems a bit over priced for the quality. The server was really excellent though.
Girls day with kids! Perfect spot.
I had a business lunch at Ameila's Bistro, and we were all very impressed with this restaurant! Our server was very attentive and polite. When your customer tries their first mouthful and says 'oh my goodness, this is delicious!' then you know you have a winner. Would highly recommend, and plan ongoing back.
We were also given a coupon for a free bottle of wine with a dinner for two!
I’ve been coming to Amelia’s Bistro for over 17 years. I moved from NJ to another state, but each time I’m in town I make sure I come here. Lovely staff, courteous attentive and always ready to serve. Although the menu has changed over the years, it still has that comfort food with a twist. It will remain on my top 10 list of restaurants.
Sadly the food quality has regressed a lot since we were last there in 2013. The quinoa burger was lumpy, bland and inedible .
Always a great experience for a Sunday brunch
Dolce was very friendly, charming , courteous and provided top notch customer service. Food was memorable and omelet and waffles prepared to perfection.
Needed to meet with a friend and work through a presentation- we were seated downstairs (alone!) and were able to get the work done. The food was delicious and our server took good care of us. Amelia’s has always been very accommodating—I’ve made last minute reservations and they’ve always come through.
Very pleasant dinner. The service was good and the food very tasty. Bartender was very knowledgeable and helped out with wine selection. It was early Sunday evening, so there were few people and the noise level was low - though the music was almost too loud, but quite. I think at a busier time, it might be hard to have an easy conversation (old ears).
Server took 35 minutes to bring us waters and take our order. Food was okay, ambiance a little odd
The restaurant has great outside seating but a little overpriced for the food. Also, we ordered a Caesar salad and it had peanuts on top. My husband is highly allergic to them. Gluten free items were indicated but not the peanuts ??? Some people might like it but I would not recommend it.
Brunch is always AMAZING
Great place for outdoor dining
Amelia's was a friendly place tucked deep in the south of Jersey City. In fairness, I would likely rate a 3.5 if half stars were allowed, but it is much more a 3 than a 4, hence my round down. The Shrimp Crostini was very good, though very small, while the Mussels were good with a much bigger portion. The Gnocchi with Short Rib was pretty good as well. Service was good. I would go back again, but not adding it to the frequent visit list.
Love the entire menu and I feel like I need to go back everyday to try everything!
Came for Sunday brunch with my daughter. Food was great as always. The lobster hash and eggs is my favorite! And the hand rolled mozz sticks are awesome!! Also can't beat $4 mimosas, bellinis, & bloody marys
Second visit for us. The food has been very good. The do it yourself hummus seems strange at first but is really good on bread. Our sever could have been better informed on the specials. This is a nice neighborhood bistro.
Always, always, always a consistently reliable choice for great artistic gourmet food in the neighborhood. And who needs a local diner when you can have Amelia's for a delicious affordable weekend brunch complete with a $4 mimosa? Delightful.
Amelia's is a perfect niehgborhood gastropub with a lively take on many dishes. The fresh chickpeas to make hummus were a nice touch.
Food was pretty good but our service wasn’t great. We sat with empty glasses for most of the meal and asked multiple servers for refills before finally getting them.
We went for brunch on Father’s Day! The food was great! This is our second time back at Amelia’s for brunch and we will definitely come again.
Awesome food and awesome service. We loved it
Had the best time here. The service was fantastic and the food was AMAZING. Definitely coming back!
We were seated inside for brunch and the service was super slow. We had to flag staff down for water refills and to place the order. The food was not as flavorful as it use to be. However, i would think twice before choosing Amelia's for brunch.
Change the menu descriptions to actually match what’s being served
Loved our dinner at Amelia's. Lots of choice and a great wine list. Highly recommend.
