Really enjoyed the spicy grilled shrimp & kale salad! Delicious! The salmon was good, but the chickpeas were supposed to be “crispy” and they weren’t—just plain, lukewarm & soft.
Service was friendly — nice neighborhood, casual spot.
Very yummy brunch. Eggs, pancakes, crab cake sliders, wee all delicious. Very enjoyable and comfortable restaurant with nicely done service too.
Very good food quality
Decent for brunch. Haven't eaten other meals here.
Put in a corner table downstairs & as a result service was poor. Food distinctly average. Reasonable prices though.
We arrived around 5:30 on a Thursday night. The place was not busy so you would think service would be excellent . Well on the contrary, we waited for 10 minutes with no water or a server to offer water. They were all busy talking amongst themselves. That's too bad! We really wanted to try the food being our first time there. Will not return...too many other places in Jersey to try.
I been there on snow day, may b they cut down their staff. I dnt know i been there 1st time so but they serve only drinks if you need water u need to ask for twice, food was good, ordered chkn tortila soup but there is no chicken in it.only one server watching whole floor so no complain about service but there it shouldn't be excuse.. i will give another try for sure...
The food is outstanding! It’s a little old school inside with slowish service, but the food made it an amazing brunch experience.
Great place. Food was awesome! Service was great! When we were there it was a great place to go as a couple or group of adults.
Highly recommend! Food was great! Service was fast and friendly! My boyfriend and I were even late and changed our reservations a couple of times and staff was friendly and nice enough to allow it and even get us a table very quickly! Would definitely come back! ❤️
My wife has some strict diet restrictions, so it was nice to find Amelia’s Bistro had such a wide variety of menu items and ability to adapt, that we could both find a dinner we enjoyed. Great atmosphere and decor and a waitress that seemed to be having as much fun as the customers, added to the experience.
Amelia’s Bistro is a great local restaurant. The waiters and waitresses are kind, and the food and appetizers are great!
I've been here for brunch many times( brunch has been good), never for dinner. I figured I'd try dinner out here..
I will never go back to this restaurant, that's how disappointed I was. I had to send my steak back because it wasn't cooked right ( not a big deal) however, when they brought me a new(grilled) steak it just tasted horrible. I don't know if they cook it at the right temperature or maybe the quality of the steak was not good. Or maybe both. I've never left a steak unfinished in my life. Outback cooks a much better steak.. My fiances Chilean sea bass was rubbery and the quality over all was not good. This not what you expect for $27 entrees. My inlaw had the Gnocchi, and he didn't even eat it.. He maybe had 3 bites.. On the plus side, the bread and appetizers were good. Service was so so ..
Food was okay. Service was very bad. Our waiter was very slow. Had to ask another waiter to place the order and then for a check.
Great atmosphere, great value, always consistent, our go to place!
The lobster hash and crab cake Benedict was amazing! Also very much enjoyed the $4 bellinis and mimosas. All and all a great brunch spot!
Amelia's is consistently good. Love the small plates and our server Eric was very nice on my latest visit.
Well, this message goes to the manager on call for the evening. How could you look me in the eye and suggest that I did not call and speak to one of your employees about bringing my own wine and paying your $25 corkage fee...I would also bet if I was to call right now someone would say the same. Also, the same manager offered to buy us a drink...or take care of our appetizer...never happened. Service was slow and unattentive. My table had empty drink glasses and finished appetizer dish on the table and our waiter and the manager didn’t bother to bus the table. The wine glasses were dirty and still had remnants of lipstick on them. Not like our waiter would notice...as he spilled wine on me while pouring the first glass. Our reservation was for 7:45pm and literally we didn’t get our appetizer to the table until 9pm...and our waiter still hadn’t taken our dinner order. Never again for this poorly managed and hectic place.
Food was below average. Nothing was fresh.
Solid brunch menu, excellent $4 brunch cocktails, good coffee, great service.
Very good selection of craft beer! From north to south! Willing to modify menu items and waitress was knowledgeable!
We got ther early and they said we could sit but we opted for a drink at the bar first. Was no problem. Bartender was very good. We sat at the end of the bar so we were mear the service bar. All the staff seemed happy and friendly several made recommendations when they heard it was our first time there. Room was a bit noisy (upstairs) as the floors are tile and walls are brick or glass. Service was vey good. Food was pretty good but we didnt order anything too fancy, either. Deviled eggs were good. Will go again.
Even though we had a reservation when we arrived all visible tables were occupied. The host told us it just filled up and offered us a table downstairs by the restrooms in a stuffy damp room rather that the bistro room we had a reservation in. What is the point of making a reservation if walkins are seated in the prime tables. Fortunately a server offered us a table in the bistro if we were willing to wait until they finished dessert. To summarize, the host was terrible at his job and the server was wonderful.
I came here on rest week, and had ordered before but never been. Service and place were good but the food was a bit disappointing! Nothing special, just plain good.
Perfect place for a lunch meeting with great food. Thank you.
Really good food, really good service. Went for lunch. Was really good experience. Would stay away from Apple cobbler(it needed a whole stick of butter as Paula Deen would say) and go for tiramisu! Would definitely go back.
I had been to America's a few times before, but this is the first time during restaurant week. Our server was attentive and fast. The food was great. We will be going more often.
Highly recommend for the food, atmosphere and fun attire by waitresses. Unique cocktails excellent and different.
I had the crostini. I chose six different ones. All were fantastic! My favorite two were the lump crab and the basil tomato. (By the way our server recommended my 2 favs). Presentation was beautiful!
Terrible waiter which is unfortunate Bc service is usually excellent.
Overall, a good restaurant at a reasonable price. The food is acceptable and the service kind and efficient. The cadre is also nice. A great option in Jersey City.
Great place and our server was awesome! I don't remember her name but she had the short hair and was so sweet!
Good experience. Danny my server was amazon and attentive
Flat bread pizzas are delicious! Overall food is good.
We had a great experience at Amelia's. The food & drinks came out quickly and our server was attentive.
Went for a Birthday Brunch. Everything was wonderful from the drinks, to the Lobster Benedict (and one friends who LOVES the grits!). Definitely a favorite neighborhood place.
We have had brunch at Amelia's three or four times now. The service has been consistently excellent and the food is delicious without being pretentious. This time all three of us were vegetarians and there were plenty of choices for us. Andres was our server and he was attentive and kept our coffee mugs full. We appreciate that the $4 mimosas and bellinis are never stingy on the wine. We will be back for sure!
I’ve been coming here more or less about six years. I enjoy the food and drinks very much. I know I can count on a happy outcome every time I dine here whether I’m sitting at a table or sitting at the bar! Bacon slab with salmon roe is absolutely amazing!!
My friends and I are regular diners at Amelia’s Bistro. We like the atmosphere and the menu options. Just wish the food was more consistent.
Completely enjoyed this neighborhood restaurant. Our server was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed charcuterie and the short rib lolly pops. The port chop special and braised short ribs were delicious and well prepared. Can't wait to return; one of the best places in JC!
