Amelia's Bistro - New Jersey Ratings and Reviews
Four of us had brunch here on Easter. I liked the small plates the most. Deviled eggs with crab, tuna tartare, and risotto cakes were great. They also had $4 brunch cocktails such as Bloody Mary's or Bellinis. The better entrees were the risotto and the shrimp and grits. Good service and outdoor seating if you'd like. We'll be back!
Enjoyed Sunday Brunch at Amelia's with friends I was shuttling from Port Liberty to EWR. We arrived very early for our 10:00am reservation and I appreciated being welcomed into the restaurant although they weren't yet open. Service was friendly and efficient, and the food was wonderful.
We have dined at Amelia's several times. We ordered the pork chops which were very tasty and the penne and sausage. The AHI poke for an appetizer was pretty good but there was not much tuna and it was overpowered with the topping. Overall a nice dining experience, nice atmosphere and decent service.
My sister treated me to Amelia's for my birthday. Apps were great and so was the service. We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu and the only notable issue was that my sister's ravioli was barely warm. I would go back as I ate here for brunch and the food was divine.
This place has had great service and great food the last two times I have been there, both on New Year's Eve with my husband and then with a friend for dinner. I love both the small plates and entrees menu and I really love all of the gluten free options! Notable favorites are the steak crostini, tikka masala meatballs and the wine list is great too. Overall good service and great dining experience!
My husband and I had read great reviews for this restaurant. It was an adorable space with good service, but we felt that the food was underwhelming. Between us, we had the short ribs, chicken sauvignon, chicken tortilla soup, bacon/sprouts flat bread, apple cobbler and tiramisu. The best part, by far, was the tiramisu. Everything else was presented well but just tasted bland. Cocktails were good as well. We would try them again for brunch, but we don't recommend it for dinner.
We went on a Thursday night. The waitress, was super night and attentive. They came to check up on us to see how we were doing. The waitress overheard that it was my birthday next week, so she brought out my desserts with candles. That was a sweet gesture, thank you Wendy (if i remember her name correctly lol)
We took advantage of Hudson Restaurant Week to have dinner at Amelia's, a spot we always enjoy. Great value for the prix fixe, and as always, the food was delicious. Our server, whose name escapes me now, was attentive and friendly, despite how busy the place was. We'll be back!
We have dined at Amelia's Bistro on several occasions. Usually we go for brunch and it is always a nice time. This time we went for dinner. They have a nice varied menu. We ordered the steak sandwich and also the lobster entree. The steak sandwich was tasty but not much meat. The lobster entree was beautifully presented. The lobster was tender and the sauce was flavorful. The service was pretty good, average prices and friendly staff. Overall a nice time and we will visit again.
This was my first time to Amelia's. I was really glad I came. The dinner was very good. I had the short ribs which were tender and flavorful. My son had the filet mignon, which he said was excellent. The one thing that he did not care for was the polenta, which was tasteless. The price was pretty high, but I would still like to try this again.
Having been at Amelia's many years ago, when the menu was mostly a bar/pub thing, we were pleasantly surprised with the offerings and the quality. The small plates and crostini were shared at our table and enjoyed by all. Short ribs and seafood risotto entrees were excellent. The prices are reasonable and the service attentive. We'll be back.
Met up with a girlfriend for Sunday brunch. Food and setting were nice. Service was AWFUL. Our waiter never checked on us. I asked him for more water and he responded, "you'll have to wait a minute". Well, he never came back with water. I had to flag down two other servers for water. I had to ask for coffee twice (with long waits in between) before I actually received it. The service was so bad, it was almost comical. After he gave us our check, he suddenly became very attentive and came back three times to see if we were ready to pay. The food was fine and the restaurant was cute - but I'd never go back due to the service.
I went to Amelia's Bistro with some friends for brunch, and we all had a great time! The food was delicious (particularly the french toast) and the drinks were perfect. Staff was friendly. We'd definitely return, hopefully on a non-rainy day where we can sit outside!
