Food was delicious! The staff was as kind as could be. A wonderful first time experience. Definitely will be back!
Great Sunday brunch with my cousins. Attentive staff, great grid and drinks!
The food menu was all over the place with no true identity. The complimentary chickpeas and frozen rolls were weird and unnecessary. The atmosphere is dated, humid, and filled with children, and the restrooms are too bright and filthy. The mozzarella sticks were soggy and cold. I can’t stress enough at how disjointed the food menu is. There is poke bowls, steak, flatbreads, pasta, guacamole, short rib, etc etc. I understand the concept of having something for everyone, but this was nothing more than a diner. No clue why the neighborhood flocks to this place.
My bf and I really enjoyed the short rib mac & cheese and the buffalo penne. We just moved to NJ and have been looking for a local brunch spot and have found one!
Nice staff, nice ambiance, good food. Doesn’t get any better than this….
Such a wonderful experience for my birthday brunch! Everyone was nice and the food was amazing (I had the risotto Benedict)
It was very sweet that they also brought us 2 delicious little hot donuts w a caramel sauce out at the end for my birthday! Would 10/10 recommend and will be back for sure😊
Not sure what happened but definitely felt like this last food experience was super meh. The pancakes were belly bombers and the biscuits were severely lacking in salt and butter as they were really bland and not remotely enjoyable. The bellinis were fantastic as always but that’s not great if I’m still starving.
Meh. Went for brunch and the waiter forgot about us. Lots of little flying bugs near our table. Although I made the reservation for outside, we’re told there were no outdoor tables. 10 minutes after we sat inside, we watched the staff move two tables from inside to outside to accommodate other parties. Overall a very sub-par experience.
Service was terrible. Took 15-20 minutes for drinks and halfway through the meal the server just stopped coming back. Had to walk inside to ask for the check. Had high hopes for the place.
Amelia's has plentiful outdoor seating and a wide variety of food to please any palate. The location is convenient to Grove St and Exchange Place path and the NY Waterway ferry. Great views of the Statue of Liberty or the New York skyline are just steps away
Food was delicious. Needed to accommodate both vegan and gluten free friends and there were good choices. Will return!
Amelia’s Bistro was a 1 out of 5. Their staff lacked the customer service skills necessary for a pleasant first experience (on so many levels). 15mins into being seated & still weren’t greeted by our server. The same server served my 16yr old niece an alcoholic beverage, placed incorrect food orders for 2 out 3 guests and had the audacity to lack the professionalism necessary to fix the situation. It’s possible that Amelia’s doesn’t cater to a specific group of people however, that should be made apparent to future patrons.
average food of a diner quality, service was nice though
Nice spot, food was decent, nothing spectacular.
Great brunch spot it gets crowded and drink service can be slow, but worth it highly recommend bloody bacon!
We live in the area and go to Amelia's on a somewhat regular basis. We went there on Sunday for brunch with a friend. I specifically asked if the restaurant had sugar-free pancake syrup as I am a diabetic. The waitress said they did so I ordered waffles. My friend asked if they had half-half for his coffee and the waitress said they did. Well they had neither. He returned the coffee but I ate the waffles without syrup. My problem is that not only did they say they had what we asked, but no one from management (hostess) came over to apologize. There are other places for brunch in the area and it will be a long time before we go to Amelia's again.
This restaurant is not nearly as good as it used to be. I can't understand the high stars given here. I don't think there was 1 thing we ordered that was "good". Including the wine! I sent back the rose & the white was just ok. Food felt processed, tasteless, nothing was fresh. The turkey "reuben" had very salty cold cut turkey (like from the grocery store), a sprinkle of sauerkraut & a little bland Swiss cheese . The Russian dressing was on the side, which is fine, but it looked straight out of a Kraft bottle. The flatbread was almost a completely white cracker w a few toppings. The cauliflower dish was drenched in too much creamy sauce. The only thing we had that came close to decent was the tofu spring rolls, but that was probably because they were fried! A big disappointment because a few years ago this place was great.
Friendly staff but food was at best mediocre. Calamari was borderline inedible and my steak way too tough.
Awesome food, nice place. Needs more waiters…
It really wasn’t good
Food preparation was careless. I order a goat cheese and roasted tomatoes omelette and it turned out to be plain diced raw tomatoes and cheso blanco and some spinach leaves, which were not described in the menu.
Really enjoyed our time at Amelia’s. We arrived around 3 and were seated promptly in the outdoor patio. So nice! Our server was great and brought our food out fast. The food was excellent - lavender lemonade, Japanese tempura, Peruvian churrasco and chipotle chicken blt were great. My only complaint was the steak was over cooked when I specifically asked for medium well. That happens sometimes but overall GREAT!
The food was great especially the braised ribs. Wish there was a better selection of wines.
This was our (me and my boyfriend) second time at Amelias and it definitely did not disappoint! The hummus I loved making myself, so fresh!!!!!! The BLT wedge was sooooo good and the steak was absolutely amazing. Love me a good skirt steak! I would love to go back very soon!
Everything was delicious. The mango chicken and calamari were out of this world. Hands down the best food we have had in a while.
While in Jersey City for a conference I ordered from Amelia’s twice on DoorDash. It was so amazingly tasty. Gorgeous vegetarian dishes, and I’m not a vegetarian. I convinced a friend to go to the restaurant on our last night there. Dinner was fabulous. It’s rare I love a restaurant so much I’d eat there 3 out of 4 nights on a trip. If I lived here I’d be there several times a week. The Spicy Mezcal Margarita was to die for. I will miss this place!
Food was good as usual. We went during a very busy brunch time, however the service was unusually slow.
A neighborhood gem for sure! My second time there and I was not disappointed. Food and drinks were excellent. You must try the Affogato Martini! We were 5 in our party and all were very pleased with appetizers and dinners.
Great service and delicious food!! Will go back!
Was there on Sunday first time, loved the place, the food, the service the atmosphere. Found parking easy, definitely going back to try the rest of the menu. Nice area to stroll around after a full and happy belly :)
Amazing ❤️they’re so kind , omg I can’t describe the food is so delicious
Went for brunch on a Sunday morning. I had the brioche French toast and my husband the chicken sausage with biscuits and gravy. We both enjoyed our food, though my husband thought the dish should have included an egg, poached or fried, to make it complete. We each got a Bloody Mary and were both disappointed. Yes, only $4, which is great, but not much flavor other than the vodka and tomato juice, and lots and lots of ice in a rocks glass. We ate inside, as it was a bit rainy, and the room was freezing. Music was a strange eclectic mix--pop from early '80s followed by hardcore Beastie Boys--not sure what vibe they're going for. Staff was super friendly, which to me is a big component of my rating. So overall, good not amazing. Would try it again since some other menu items intrigued me, but will not get the Bloody Mary!
Hosted my son’s baptism lunch at Amelia’s and they did an excellent job. Everything was fantastic from food to drinks and service was fast, friendly and attentive.
Our food took too long and food was ok.
Staff was friendly.
It was my first time going to Amelia’s this past Saturday, and I really enjoyed it. The food was so delicious, I ordered the Kobe mini burgers and they were so yummy! From the bun, to the meat to the fries and side dipping sauces! When we sat down, we were served our water and complimentary chickpeas to make hummus. You had to smash it yourself and I thought that was so fun. We ordered the orange chicken for an appetizer and it was insanely delicious! My friend had the steak with plantains and yuca and it was so flavorful! I will definitely be back! Our waitress was also very sweet, as well as all the others who served us water etc … our waitress was even nice enough to snap our pics a few times. Such a wonderful experience!
One (slow) bartender on staff. We ordered apps after the bread, and our meals. And our drinks only came ~45 minutes later once we had finished our entrees. Didn't even really want the drinks at that point and they were not good. Food was good but it really does ruin the whole experience. The place was just not that busy at 9:30pm
All of the food was delicious, we had tapas and dinner. Would definitely recommend!
Great location, value and ambience - food was okay
Father's Day Brunch...very special...perfect for our celebration...a Jersey City jewel...
Amazing, diverse menu. Food is perfect every time.
Delicious flavors in everything we ordered. Will definitely come back.
