Amelia’s is consistently good. Good service, great food, small plates if you’re like me & you like to share a try a variety of things on the menu.
Good food, nice staff but it was very slow service for how few patrons were there.
My girlfriend and I have been here a number of times, and we keep coming back for the food. She loves the Salmon salad because they cook it to perfection. I've tried a number of their other dishes and they have been hit or miss...the smoked salmon is the best of the benedicts and enjoy their breakfast potatoes . We are also big fans of the muffin basket. The staff are usually friendly and the food often comes out quickly. Service seems to slow down especially during the brunch rush...we are usually waiting for the check for quite a while (this time was no different). We usually get coffee beforehand because it's weak and usually comes out luke warm.
It's a wonderful restaurant for casual dining during lunch to compliment business associates on their hard work for the program they presented to executives.
Restaurant week selection wasn’t much to brag about. The short ribs were bland and was not presented well. Needless to say, it wasn’t very tasty.
A real find. Diverse menu. Reasonable prices. Great atmosphere. Food was "excellent" ... delicious and ample portions. Very nice servers. I met friends there but it's great for special occassions too. They even have a private room downstairs.
The food and service was adequate. The bartender was excellent. He really knew his business. Nice setting.
Great Food! Went here for a special reunion and everything delivered!
My friend and I enjoyed a lovely Sunday brunch outdoors. The food was very good. We were not rushed. Prices were reasonable. I would recommend Amelia’s to my friends and family.
Great apps. Tuna Tartare was awesome and the 6 bites we got.
Great food, service was bit slow and environment can be more lively. But overall excellent food and great value for money.
Brunch was good, lots of choices. Just strange that after we ate, server brought the check without ever asking if we wanted coffees/dessert. We probably would have had something but since we had the bill we paid and left.
The people were nice, but the food was mediocre at best From the bread and chickpeas forward, I felt like it was a restaurant for people with very bland tastes.
Food was great! Kung pao cauliflower was awesome as well as the chicken meatballs. Flatbread pizza was light and yummy. Great place to order a bunch of little plates and share.
We went for brunch...Advertised as “american food” the menu was a little to adventuresome for my taste. Coming from the south when I order biscuits and gravy I expected something far different then what I was served. It was basically two huge chicken sausages with two doughy biscuits and just a tiny bottom layer of what seemed like hollandaise sauce lining he plate. Did not hit the spot at all for there take on comfort food. And that is pretty much the jist of the menu. The chef does his or her take on traditional comfort food which I’m sure “does it” for some but was not satisfying to me and my table. Otherwise ambiance was nice and our waiter was accommodating.
Celebrated Fathers Day at Amelia’s for brunch. Food was so good and a great atmosphere. Service was good although waitress didn’t provide the full specials which we had overheard another staff member provide to another table. When asked we were informed there weren’t any specials. After a lot of prompting she finally got the information we needed. After that it was good service.
Fantastic place. Great service
The service was poor. Our server went missing after taking our order and I had to go to the bar to get my drink. The food was lackluster and kinda cold. Overall an underwhelming experience.
Not one of my best experiences at this establishment. Hostess was very kind and accommodating. Waiter very apathetic. Virtually ignored and requests for two eggs, instead of 3 and cooked well done, ignored. Even water had to be filled by another waitperson, when she was helping other tables. Omelet was decent from my friend, but my dish extremely disappointing.
Excellent evening at Amelia’s on a Friday - light crowd due to holiday weekend. We ate outside which was lovely. Started with the shrimp appetizer which was very delicious. For mains we had the Chilean sea bass which was excellent. Also the pear salad which was good though not out of this world, and added blackened chicken which was actually a huge quantity. Cocktails were good as well. The mains came out a little bit slowly but the waitress was very nice.
Slooow service. Seated quick, apps quick, food great, ambiance amazing. Our server, just ours, was very slow with entree delivery and very with slow drink delivery. The brunch champagne was not chilled. It took an eternity to get the check. We would give it another try however. Brunch was very tasty and so where the drinks. Saw the manager running around trying to make things right.
As usual Amelia's was awesome. Service is always friendly and consistent. Food is always amazing.
We ordered small plates and a couple of flatbreads. Food was really good - not complicated, but fresh and tasty. Waiter was happy to bring them out a couple at a time, and they were all hot when he served them. He did disappear at times, but that's better than being rushed out the door. Brownie Sundae dessert was ok, brownies themselves kind of dry. Good beers and wines.
Noise waxed and waned, overall not bad.
Very creative menu in a cool space. We went twice we liked it so much.
We love coming here for brunch, food and staff are always great and accommodating.
What a terrific variety of choices with items I have not seen at other restaurants. I tried the chicken tiki masala meatballs and the brussel sprouts, bacon appetizers. Both were filling and well prepared. We will be back soon.
Really enjoyed the spicy grilled shrimp & kale salad! Delicious! The salmon was good, but the chickpeas were supposed to be “crispy” and they weren’t—just plain, lukewarm & soft.
Service was friendly — nice neighborhood, casual spot.
Very yummy brunch. Eggs, pancakes, crab cake sliders, wee all delicious. Very enjoyable and comfortable restaurant with nicely done service too.
Very good food quality
Decent for brunch. Haven't eaten other meals here.
Put in a corner table downstairs & as a result service was poor. Food distinctly average. Reasonable prices though.
We arrived around 5:30 on a Thursday night. The place was not busy so you would think service would be excellent . Well on the contrary, we waited for 10 minutes with no water or a server to offer water. They were all busy talking amongst themselves. That's too bad! We really wanted to try the food being our first time there. Will not return...too many other places in Jersey to try.
I been there on snow day, may b they cut down their staff. I dnt know i been there 1st time so but they serve only drinks if you need water u need to ask for twice, food was good, ordered chkn tortila soup but there is no chicken in it.only one server watching whole floor so no complain about service but there it shouldn't be excuse.. i will give another try for sure...
The food is outstanding! It’s a little old school inside with slowish service, but the food made it an amazing brunch experience.
Great place. Food was awesome! Service was great! When we were there it was a great place to go as a couple or group of adults.
Highly recommend! Food was great! Service was fast and friendly! My boyfriend and I were even late and changed our reservations a couple of times and staff was friendly and nice enough to allow it and even get us a table very quickly! Would definitely come back! ❤️
My wife has some strict diet restrictions, so it was nice to find Amelia’s Bistro had such a wide variety of menu items and ability to adapt, that we could both find a dinner we enjoyed. Great atmosphere and decor and a waitress that seemed to be having as much fun as the customers, added to the experience.
Amelia’s Bistro is a great local restaurant. The waiters and waitresses are kind, and the food and appetizers are great!
I've been here for brunch many times( brunch has been good), never for dinner. I figured I'd try dinner out here..
I will never go back to this restaurant, that's how disappointed I was. I had to send my steak back because it wasn't cooked right ( not a big deal) however, when they brought me a new(grilled) steak it just tasted horrible. I don't know if they cook it at the right temperature or maybe the quality of the steak was not good. Or maybe both. I've never left a steak unfinished in my life. Outback cooks a much better steak.. My fiances Chilean sea bass was rubbery and the quality over all was not good. This not what you expect for $27 entrees. My inlaw had the Gnocchi, and he didn't even eat it.. He maybe had 3 bites.. On the plus side, the bread and appetizers were good. Service was so so ..
Food was okay. Service was very bad. Our waiter was very slow. Had to ask another waiter to place the order and then for a check.
