Special attention paid when staff found out it was a birthday celebration. A lovely meal without being rushed.
Quickly becoming our favorite restaurant in Asheville. Just north of town - easy parking. Always an innovative menu. Bison short-ribs with cauliflower "risotto" is a large "small" plate - wonderful. Chicken and dumplings with a braised breast and wing, grilled carrots, butter-beans and gnocchi - splendid riff on a country favorite. Great friendly knowledgeable service.
The greeting, the table, the food and service were all positive experiences. We will definitely return.
Great spot for brunch. Will most certainly be back.
On my birthday I took 5 other folks out to Ambrozia for dinner. We had champagne and red meat and cake and a really fine time. Our waitress April was attentive and lovely and extremely personable. Thanks for a great evening.
We showed up for our lunch reservation and couldn’t find a parking space. I ran inside leaving my husband to look for a spot and the desk person shrugged and said they were busy and offered no advise.
Food was good but the restaurant has become over loved. The floors walls seating and general decor are tired.
Their food is still very tasty but the ambiance and lack of adequate parking drags down my opinion. We used to really enjoy eating here.
We have visited the restaurant and suggested it to friends. Overall the experience was good but could have been better.
First, I ordered a glass of red wine from the menu. I was told that the wine was not available. I ordered another glass and was told there was only enough left for a half of glass. Strike two! On the third glass, I was rewarded as it was in stock. It was good but not my first choice. How can you run out of wine on a Tuesday night?
I ordered the burger and it was good. Possibly a little overdone. The fries were cold. My wife ordered the pot pie which she wasn't thrilled with. Very liquidy and not a great deal of meat! Bread and music were great.
We'd still come back.
This place exceeded our expectations. We came with a group off ten for sunday brunch. We were given a reminder the day prior for our reservation. We were immediately seated in a quiet room set for ten. Service was pristine and our waiter was on top of his coffee and water refills. He was very informative about the menu and offered advice on his favorites. The four course brunch was to die for and was evenly spaced out. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. Would highly recommend. Hidden gem.
Entertaining friends from SC. Loved everything but my beet risotto was amazing.
My wife ordered her burger medium and it came out rare. They obviously took it back and cooked it longer. We take advantage of the Tuesday nite burger and beer for $10. Just realize that it is a half beer. This is a good value. I would tend to stay away from the small plates as I have found them to be very, very small.
Food and service were great, portions on tile fish entree and pot pie were lacking, especially for the price but tastes were ameazing! They left the casing on the sausage for the meat and cheese plate, bathroom ceiling is falling and the overhead light fixtures were burned. They could step it up a knocth and get 5 stars.
Used Open Table to reserve for Valentines' Day. I did not realize that it was a set menu and $65 per person. The food was just barely okay. Definitely not worth $65 per person. I think that this is a better restaurant than my experience attests to. I need to go back on a normal night. I wish that they had offered their normal menu.
Amazing menu! Always unforgettable.
Valentine’s Day dinner
The Brunch was absolutely perfect. The portions were just right and the bread basket was heavenly --- such taste morsels. We ordered the 4 course and just didn't eat everything but because the portions were appropriately sized we did eat enough of each.
Great food and great service!
We had a lovely meal with good friends.
Our server, Andrew, was fabulous!
Food, service, and company were amazing! Already planning to come back
Lots of sauces and presentation but the fish smelled a bit fishy and had no flavor
Woody was a wonderful server-Happened to go on Restaurant week.
Wonderful meals-Fried chicken and Seafood stew delightful. Love their brunch menu and
value. Neighborhood favorite
Great restaurant loved by us locals!
The food was really good. The service tonight was not as good as it usually is.
This place can be good or it can be very bad. It is rarely very good. Nonetheless, this inconsistency is very problematic for any credible restaurant. The only reason that I continue to go to Ambrosia is its location in North Asheville, very close to where I live. The options are not very good in this neighborhood, so Ambrosia is an option, albeit a poor option.
I ordered fish and chips. The fist was not particularly crisp and overly breaded. The chips were, in fact, French fries. Those French fries were amazingly oily and simply awful. My companion had a kale salad that had other additions, but it was bland.
An unexpectedly wonderful brunch! I liked having the different courses, which slowed down the eating process and made for a much more enjoyable meal. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. The service was wonderful, efficient and non invasive.
Girls night out and we had a blast. Fun, laid back environment and great friendly service. Food was very creative and fantastic. Lots of choices from burgers to upscale. Also great for brunch. We love this place. Recommend lobster pot pie, Bison short ribs, oysters, deviled eggs, and all the desserts.
Lately the menu and the food have been so-so. Really enjoyed this restaurant when we would come often about 2 years ago. Food taste might have just been off night tonight, but I really don't care for the menu anymore.
First time, loved it! Great butter salad with flavorful tomatoes even in January. Great bison Bourgogne (so?)!! We will be back. Our server, Parker, was fantastic!
We had dinner here on NYE and it was a last minute trip to Asheville. I needed to find a place quickly for dinner and we are very glad we found Ambrozia. It was a pre fixed menu, 5 courses, and I can honestly say we truly enjoyed every single course. We are very picky since we are fortunate enough to eat at a lot of great places throughout the country, but rarely do we not have a negative thing to say about any of the courses.
We also had one vegiterian in our group, two of the courses didn’t have a vegiterian option. Emailed them, they said no problem. Often you find places kind of just throwing something together for that one person but they had two amazing subsitition our daughter truly enjoyed.
Thanks for a great NYE meal!
Such a great dining experience for us during our weekend getaway to Asheville. With so many restaurants to choose from, we got lucky with this one. Great service, cocktails, flavors and options! We tried the beets/goat cheese risotto, deviled eggs, butter lettuce salad, Bar burger, Veggie burger and Cod fish. PLUS the rolls were amazing (salty) but just add the butter! Ginger beer, Rosè & Pinot Grigio rounded out our palates. We didn’t have great cell service but managed to get a enough to order a ride back to the hotel. Locals & visitors should check this gem out!!
They just couldn’t execute the special Christmas Eve menu. Food was just eh, and the mains were both cold.
The food is amazing and the staff wonderful. Will go back again.
Christmas Eve dinner was perfect.
We began our meals with a bottle of Tempernillo, it was good. We shared an appetizer of mussels, they were okay and too salty. I had the stuffed chili rileno with sides and it was okay and once again too salty but very pricey at 24.00 bucks. I felt it was worthy of 12.00 bucks. My husband had the chicken and dumplings and enjoyed it very much but again very pricey at 24.00. Honestly I would not go back. Overall it was just ok and too expensive for such dishes. I am not opposed to spending money on good food.
Wonderful food and service!
Great small plates, which easily make a meal, along with full entrees and a bar menu available at tables. Smart friendly service. Innovative food - with rifts on the everyday such as deconstructed Chicken and Dumplings - a whole leg and thigh - more chicken with gnocchi and whole baby grilled carrots - wonderful.
The food was delicious, service outstanding! We enjoyed our meal very much
Truly enjoyable experience with great service and good food.
Fantastic meal! Excellent service. Quiet with really nice ambiance.
The menu was quite interesting and the food did not disappoint. Atmosphere was lacking on the night we dined but the food quality more than made up for it. Kudos to the chef and the kitchen team. Great waitstaff, too.
Close to Grove Park Inn.
The Brussels sprout appetizer was very good and the salmon and lamb main entrees were excellent! This is a neighborhood gem...quality food creatively prepared. Had a very enjoyable meal. Would recommend Ambrozia and plan to be back soon.
Great food & service in the neighborhood. We leave nearby.
