Another delicious brunch at Ambrosia! We'll be back!
We always try to dine at Ambrozia when we plan to be on the north side of town. We have never been disappointed but this time out was exceptionally creative and delicious. We are pescatarians so we shared a seasonal salad, a fish dish and an eggplant dish. Everything was on point.
Pre race dinner for the Ville to Ville relay race. Good value good food nice people.
Great find. The food was very good and the service was excellent. If you go, sit on the bar side and ask for Elijah. He was an excellent server, made a great wine recommendation and was very personable.
The burger was great, but the fries were way to greasy.
As always worth the short drive north of downtown Asheville for an excellent menu - lots of variety, innovative preparations expertly cooked. Knowledgeable friendly service and tables spaced a respectful distance apart. The huge soft shell crab was simply lightly floured and sautéed to perfection, the scallops and grits superb.
Ambrozia has a fantastic staff with congenial service standards. The food is interesting and extremely tasty. We went for Easter Brunch and loved the creative 4 course menu and great Bloody Marys. The Bloody Mary Deviled Eggs appetizer was awesome. I highly recommend.
Wow, what a surprise! Pulled into the parking lot and thought “swing and a miss,” after the dining experience I was reminded “don’t judge a book by its cover!”
Easter Brunch was very tasty. Slightly pricey.
Hidden gem. Worth the short drive outside of downtown.
Ambrozia was excellent at handling our large group! They provided a kids menu and even made an effort for our ketogenic members. The service was prompt and they custom crafted drinks for several of us. Definitely will go there again.
Sunday brunch with live music is a not to miss. Farm to table . Food +++
Great all the way around! Great food, great service, great value for a 4-course brunch. Served smaller courses so the whole meal could be thoroughly enjoyed and not leave stuffed. Courses well spaced apart; not on top of the previous course and not a lag in receiving the next course. Quiche was wonderful! Would return again in a heartbeat!
Always great food - unusual food but always great!
Service was good. I got a burger and it was literally to tall to fit in my mouth. It tasted fine, but was so uncomfortable to eat and messy since I couldn’t get it in my mouth that it was difficult to visit with my friend.
Special attention paid when staff found out it was a birthday celebration. A lovely meal without being rushed.
Quickly becoming our favorite restaurant in Asheville. Just north of town - easy parking. Always an innovative menu. Bison short-ribs with cauliflower "risotto" is a large "small" plate - wonderful. Chicken and dumplings with a braised breast and wing, grilled carrots, butter-beans and gnocchi - splendid riff on a country favorite. Great friendly knowledgeable service.
The greeting, the table, the food and service were all positive experiences. We will definitely return.
Chose this gem for an early pre concert meal and was delighted with everything. Creative menu, lots of small plates and bar menu to allow ample sampling. Super nice and efficient server. Side room with the small bar is intimate. A delightful dinner experience, recommend highly!
Great spot for brunch. Will most certainly be back.
On my birthday I took 5 other folks out to Ambrozia for dinner. We had champagne and red meat and cake and a really fine time. Our waitress April was attentive and lovely and extremely personable. Thanks for a great evening.
We showed up for our lunch reservation and couldn’t find a parking space. I ran inside leaving my husband to look for a spot and the desk person shrugged and said they were busy and offered no advise.
Food was good but the restaurant has become over loved. The floors walls seating and general decor are tired.
Their food is still very tasty but the ambiance and lack of adequate parking drags down my opinion. We used to really enjoy eating here.
We have visited the restaurant and suggested it to friends. Overall the experience was good but could have been better.
First, I ordered a glass of red wine from the menu. I was told that the wine was not available. I ordered another glass and was told there was only enough left for a half of glass. Strike two! On the third glass, I was rewarded as it was in stock. It was good but not my first choice. How can you run out of wine on a Tuesday night?
I ordered the burger and it was good. Possibly a little overdone. The fries were cold. My wife ordered the pot pie which she wasn't thrilled with. Very liquidy and not a great deal of meat! Bread and music were great.
We'd still come back.
This place exceeded our expectations. We came with a group off ten for sunday brunch. We were given a reminder the day prior for our reservation. We were immediately seated in a quiet room set for ten. Service was pristine and our waiter was on top of his coffee and water refills. He was very informative about the menu and offered advice on his favorites. The four course brunch was to die for and was evenly spaced out. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. Would highly recommend. Hidden gem.
Entertaining friends from SC. Loved everything but my beet risotto was amazing.
My wife ordered her burger medium and it came out rare. They obviously took it back and cooked it longer. We take advantage of the Tuesday nite burger and beer for $10. Just realize that it is a half beer. This is a good value. I would tend to stay away from the small plates as I have found them to be very, very small.
Food and service were great, portions on tile fish entree and pot pie were lacking, especially for the price but tastes were ameazing! They left the casing on the sausage for the meat and cheese plate, bathroom ceiling is falling and the overhead light fixtures were burned. They could step it up a knocth and get 5 stars.
Used Open Table to reserve for Valentines' Day. I did not realize that it was a set menu and $65 per person. The food was just barely okay. Definitely not worth $65 per person. I think that this is a better restaurant than my experience attests to. I need to go back on a normal night. I wish that they had offered their normal menu.
Amazing menu! Always unforgettable.
Valentine’s Day dinner
The Brunch was absolutely perfect. The portions were just right and the bread basket was heavenly --- such taste morsels. We ordered the 4 course and just didn't eat everything but because the portions were appropriately sized we did eat enough of each.
Great food and great service!
We had a lovely meal with good friends.
Our server, Andrew, was fabulous!
Food, service, and company were amazing! Already planning to come back
Lots of sauces and presentation but the fish smelled a bit fishy and had no flavor
Woody was a wonderful server-Happened to go on Restaurant week.
Wonderful meals-Fried chicken and Seafood stew delightful. Love their brunch menu and
value. Neighborhood favorite
Great restaurant loved by us locals!
The food was really good. The service tonight was not as good as it usually is.
This place can be good or it can be very bad. It is rarely very good. Nonetheless, this inconsistency is very problematic for any credible restaurant. The only reason that I continue to go to Ambrosia is its location in North Asheville, very close to where I live. The options are not very good in this neighborhood, so Ambrosia is an option, albeit a poor option.
I ordered fish and chips. The fist was not particularly crisp and overly breaded. The chips were, in fact, French fries. Those French fries were amazingly oily and simply awful. My companion had a kale salad that had other additions, but it was bland.
An unexpectedly wonderful brunch! I liked having the different courses, which slowed down the eating process and made for a much more enjoyable meal. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. The service was wonderful, efficient and non invasive.
Girls night out and we had a blast. Fun, laid back environment and great friendly service. Food was very creative and fantastic. Lots of choices from burgers to upscale. Also great for brunch. We love this place. Recommend lobster pot pie, Bison short ribs, oysters, deviled eggs, and all the desserts.
