Fantastic food and flavorful
We hosted a dinner fir 9 to celebrate a graduation and the people who made it possible. Ambrosia offered us a “private dining room”. They failed to tell me that it is oddly shaped with a table at too low a height to comfortably dine at. They “lost” the order I called in so that there would be food at the table as soon as guests arrived. I called it in again when they told me it was lost. The food was not still ready even close to when we arrived. The meal was served in a piecemeal fashion and we could not eat as a group. There were 2 dishes, one that I’d preordered, that were unavailable on a Saturday night. The food was fine, but the service was so bad as to be humorous. It was embarrassing to have invited guests. I would not return, and not recommend Ambrosia.
This place is a hidden gem! They had a customized table card with my name, which was a sweet touch. I was celebrating an recent engagement and there were others celebrating their birthdays. The energy was vibrant but it was not overwhelming. THis place is great for a romantic night out or a evening out with friends. The food was absolutely delicious and I cannot wait to visit again.
Went here on a team business dinner. Food was very good and creative. Wine list was small, but well chosen.
The ambiance leaves a lot to be desired at Ambrosia. Inside is gloomy and the patio, although it is outside, is so walled it that it almost doesn't feel like it is outdoors. There is also a strange odor to the place, probably some kind of incense, that is not appealing and conflicts with eating food there. It also didn't feel particularly clean. Although the menu looks interesting our group shared several items and nothing was that great. The Ribeye Tataki and Wasabi Shui Mai were both fatty and not particularly flavorful. The flash fried brussel sprouts were over fried. Most of the entrees we ordered were overly sweet. The service was well intentioned although some of the drink orders were wrong but everyone was friendly. There is nothing here that would lure us back considering all of the other options in town.
Food, drinks and service were amazing! The restaurant is cozy and eclectic! Try this one!
Came here to celebrate a birthday, and I must say Ambrosia didn't disappoint. Great food, great service, and an overall awesome experience. Everything was good from the cocktails to entrees. We ordered wings, samosas, fried rice, steak, and much more. By the end of our dinning experience, there was no left overs. I would highly recommend.
Wonderful food, great service and terrific atmosphere - we will be coming back!
We ate here for our girls' weekend and it was a fabulous experience. Everything was so good and the service was exceptional. We'll definitely be back!
Quite an interesting mix of spices and ingredients. Our first, but certainly not our last visit to this unique if not somewhat hidden neighborhood jem.
Wonderful shared plates of lamb chops, flatbread, steak, bok choy all well prepared and flavorful. Somewhat noisy ambience but energetic with young and old couples and party groups. Enjoyed and will return.
Valentines evening diner. They didn’t have enough food to serve there fixed multi course diner, the drink pairing was never on time, either early or late. The 2nd course was fish, which I informed the waiter I needed to substitute for due to allergies. It took nearly an hour for the 2nd course to make it to the table and it was fish. So another 25 minutes to substitute. 2.5 hrs in we received our 3rd course which was obviously a failed attempt at covering up they ran out of the steak, we were then told they were out of the 4th course. And to just pick something from the menu. Told them to make it to go. 3hrs in and didn’t make it through the serving and not a single pairing served together. On the brighter side, the food had good flavor, just horribly managed. Valentine’s Day diner shouldn’t include your date giving you the eye about a horrible experience:
Ambrosia was absolutely amazing! I celebrated my wife's birthday here and we absolutely loved it. I highly recommend it to anyone!
Great food for great prices. Somewhat eclectic combinations of ingredients and spices to achieve an interesting culinary experience. Definitely will go back. Also, good with honoring reservations. Room is a little noisy, but that's because there is so much great conversation going on!
First waiter was not very friendly and seem agitated when asking for recommendations. He got the first drink order wrong. When asked if there what was the other cocktail with coconut in it that he recommended earlier he proceeded to say there were no coconut cocktails, which the first wrong drink he brought out was a coconut cocktail. He kept disappearing into the restroom. He never came back to see how we were doing. Another waiter who was Asian came to help for the rest of the night. This restaurant need wait staff that has better customer service. If your wait staff does not want to be in the service industry then they shouldn't be there. It completely ruins the mood for everyone one making the likelihood to return is slim to none.
Delicious dishes you just can’t find anywhere else. Great service too. We just miss the curry fries!
Wonderful Christmas Day dinner! Totally enjoyed the ambience and food.
I had such high hopes for this place. After spending over $200 on dinner I was so disappointed in the wait times on food. I ordered two appetizers and four meals for all four of us. I specifically requested that the appetizers be served first then all of the meals together after....
the appetizers were indeed served first but then one meal was served a couple of minutes after.... then another about 20 Minutes after.... then another about another 10 after and the last one (which was for my son) was served about 45 Minutes after the first one!!!! This was not meant to be family style..... all thebwaiter couldnsaybwas that he is new and he agrees that the wait time on many dishes were too long....
The place was a little hard to find, the address is listed wrong. The waiters are slow, but the food is worth the wait. Prices are good and lots of veg choices. Drinks are creative. Definitely worth the drive
We Loved our experience here! Food was absolutely wonderful from main course to desert. We made a reservation and they place a card on your table with your name on it a nice touch!! We were there early so it wasn’t crowded so noise level was good but I can see it could get a little loud since it’s one open room. Overall it was a great experience!
Decided to dine here for my fiancé birthday because it was so amazing on Valentine’s Day, but little did I know we were in for such Disrespectful service. Our inattentive waiter Jax accused me of having had ordered three drinks in the 15 minutes we’d been there. Mind you he had only been to our table once. There was a mix up with our table and the one next to us but he was very adamant stating it was my third drink and wanted me to be aware. I initially thought he was joking, but he wasn’t so I told him he need to go figure it out. Needless to say he returns and apologizes for the mix up but the embarrassment had already affected our dining experience. Service was even slower after that, the crab fried rice was mushy, and our lamb were next to torched. Avoid this place, the new management has really dropped the ball. Our special occasion was absolutely ruined!
Service was really slow, even the waiter accepted saying you don't have to leave a tip.
Really wish they would go back to original menu!!!
Good food and service. Great ambience.
The waitstaff was amazing!! Food was good. My friend really enjoyed her bday!
Our favorite place to go for about last 3 years! Flavorful food, excellent service. Love smaller portions during happy hour so you can taste different foods. Brussels sprouts and shishito peppers are absolutely amazing and a must to try!
We will definitely be coming back again.
Everything was so delicious from the ribs, curry potatoes, brussels sprouts, to the chicken samosas. The drinks were hand crafted and creative. I dinned with a group of six and everyone enjoyed food and the excellent service. We will be back.
The taste of the food was amazing. The environment was great. The drink menu could use improvements. The waiter was very nice but overall service was slow.
This was my first visit Ambrosia restaurant and I was blown away at how great everything tasted. My daughter was in for work and I searched OpenTable for a new and interesting restaurant. My daughter and I ordered about six dishes and the risotto with tiger prawn shrimp was my favorite. The cocktails complimented our meal so well. I look forward to my next visit...
Service was impeccable, but the food was mediocre. Food is overpriced and happy hour menu was a bit disappointing. Tried regular menu food and few of the dishes like the ribs and flatbread were great, but others were not worth getting.
Ambrosia is always a treat, Tuesday evening steak night was no exception.
Excellent service and food!!
I love the food here!!
We arrived early, but there were only two other tables with guests, so we were seated immediately. After we were seated, we were greeted by our server, who brought water for the table and menus, but did not come back. We waited 15 minutes, and we didn't see him wait on any table but a larger party across the restaurant, that arrived after we did. There literally were 4 tables at any given point, and one two person party finished and departed while we were waiting. There appeared to be another waitress in the restaurant, but I observed her on a cell phone and never saw her wait on a table. We left after waiting 15 minutes. The server saw us leave and looked confused, but we didn't see any good reason for there to be that long of a wait to even order a drink. Four tables of diners does not mean a busy restaurant, and perhaps I understand why it was so empty. We will probably not be back. Such a shame, too. The ambiance there is lovely, and the last time we were there it was very good food. And busy.
Food was underwhelming. The prices were much more than the food was worth.
Ambrosia is a neighborhood gem with great Italian cuisine that is on the lighter side. FYI: though listed as being serviced for reservations, IT IS NOT! Our "reservation" was honored by the helpful host who said that Ambrosia has been trying to have Open Table remove their name from their listing. Go to Ambrosia; you won't regret it but use a different online site to assure you really have a reservation.
Always a great time at Ambrosia... went from go to date spot to a restaurant for special occasions
I went for my birthday and was able to share with friends all of the different plates. It was delicious! Service was outstanding. Thanks for making my birthday dinner awesome!
We loved our service and our food. We had a party of 5, and even though the noise level was off the charts, we enjoyed our food and had a fun time. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday and sat at the bar while waiting for our table. My daughter pulled out her credit card to pay for our drinks, and when I asked the bartender to please use mine instead and explained that we were paying for a fun birthday out, he refused...twice and rudely. He had not swiped it yet so that was not ok with me. It just did not make sense. Other than our less than perfect bar experience, the rest of our evening was perfect. We will be back for food, but will skip the drinks next time.
The small plates are very good. It’s a great place to share with friends. The cocktails are really good!
