Amberjax Fish Market Grill at Trinity Groves Ratings and Reviews
Waitress, Britanny, was very good, friendly and accommodating. It was too noisy and we were sat next to a rather loud group. My husband wear hearing aids and it was still difficult from background noise. However, my nephew, who needs gluten-free fare, was surprised at the number of options.
Amberjax was a wonderful meal as usual, but I doubt I will go back to Trinity Groves. They have taken the huge parking lot on the West End of the property and made it valet, which is very irritating! I refuse to be forced to valet just to get a decent parking spot.
I had to park across the street in the calechi (gravel) parking lot, so that was my last trip to TG. I I will only stop by for a quick pick up from Kate Wiser Chocolates and German Chocolate Cake from Cake Bar, other than that -- I'm done with TG. If I had not been meeting friends, I would have left. There's plenty of good restaurants that don't force people to valet.
This was our first visit to Amberjack, but won't be the last. The open, light decor was inviting as well as being pretty. The service was prompt and professional. She was able (and most willing) to answer all our questions. We each ordered something that we were not familiar with, but we were all delighted with our food. I had the seafood Cobb salad. It was outstanding. They were more than generous with the crab and the shrimp were hugh. We will definitely return.
I have dined at Amberjax on several occasions. For this birthday celebration the restaurant was more than accommodating. Our group was allowed to dine late; it was as if the restaurant was open just for us! The staff was not bothered one bit and they made our experience memorable.
Very disappointed in the food. No seasoning and very bland. Hated the board which was difficult to see without standing. Pitcher of water on table was from other customers, I didn't realize it was for refilling our water until the server said it was I the table. Uggggh. I asked for a new pitcher. I will not go back again.
Unbeatable service is always willing to customize the chef's amazing award-winning fresh food creations in an upscale yet trendy environment. A little noisy for business lunches but totally worth the experience for clients, internal meetings and team lunches.
2nd opportunity to dine at Amberjax (dinner) and my experience was even better than my first! From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable and most attentive. Our server, Jack, was outstanding! He helped tremendously with recommendations and suggestions from beer to trout and he was genuinely interested in ensuring our party had a memorable experience. The food was delicious with perhaps the fried oysters being the most enjoyable. I highly recommend Amberjax to anyone wanting great fish, outstanding service, and a casual and comfortable dining adventure!
Seated immediately with a 7:45 reservation. The food tasted great. The portions were right sized to a little small for the price.
The main negative was the noise was bad. We were seated at a small table in the back room, away from the serving and coming & going noise. Still could not converse easily. A group of ten loud people was echoing off all the hard services.
I would recommend more for a group than anything romantic. I would enjoy eating there again but it is not a place I will return to quickly.
I was here in June 2015 and the meal and overall experience was excellent. Not so one year later. For the money they charge, the fish portions are small. They also run out of fresh fish on the "Board" (which they claim is their specialty) by as early as 7:00 pm. Please don't tell me there are no more Red Snappers to be sold in Dallas by 7:00 pm! I was also disappointed that I made a request in my OpenTable reservation for this special occasion and it was totally ignored. Onward.
Our table service was excellent by Kate. The food was extremely tasty. We had a party of 10. Several fish dishes and sides they were all good...notable were the jalapeno cheese grits, red beans/rice, and cole slaw. Very fun and delish chalkboard menu. We were seated in the back room on a long rectangular table. There were a few other large parties in that room and it was loud...high industrial ceilings, not so good acoustics, but we made it work. We will be back.
