We didn't know what to expect during the unique time, but the fish was great. The service was very good. The waiter had a mask on. The tables were far enough apart. The menus were disposable. It was great.
Outstanding service did not eclipse average food with above average prices.
Delicious food, glad to have it back open. We were there for an anniversary dinner
They did an admirable job of serving the 25% of the restaurant that was allowed to open. Good food as usual.
We are trying to be conscious of distancing but also wanted to spend our money at our local favorites to keep them going! This place is an old reliable, fish is fresh and delicious, well cooked, and creative. The service is, as usual, awesome. We were all alone in the modified dining room so I’m sure that we had extra attention but we have never had a bad experience here. Please support our local restaurants if you’re able and can be use safe practices when out! They need us!
Great food, atmosphere and experience. Will go again!!!
Our waiter was more of a drive by server. Was not eager to answer questions etc. the food was amazing
Took my guy for his birthday...he loved it! I’ve been coming since they opened, but only for special occasions now bc I live 50 minutes away. Everything was superb!
Several of us had the Flounder and really enjoyed it. They should add beer on tap and more importantly, turn up the temperature in the room! most of us kept our coats on during the meal which is uncomfortable.
I took two business colleagues to Amberjax for a discount, not realizing how loud the room would be. Our waitress was fairly attentive and the food was good. My colleagues liked their entrees, as did I. The star of today’s show was the lobster bisque - it was probably the best I have ever tasted.
My date and I sent the Fish back to be cooked a little more. It came back the same way. (So the fish was a no go). However the boiled shrimp was amazing.
The waiter was excellent
Have a great time celebrating my birthday here!! We close the lunch hour out! Shout out to Gary and Manning for the great service, and we closed the lunch hour out. The food here is always great; The service was exceptional nation point!
It's pricey, but you're getting top notch seafood and top notch service, everyone there was super knowledgeable and super professional.
John (GM) and Carla (Server) was excellent. Thank you!!!
Nice lunch with family. Excellent service. The Star was the yaya gumbo.
Amberjax is always a great choice for our family. Their seafood is fresh and delicious. They also have a great selection of veggies, sides and desserts. Good wine list, too. My only complaint is the sound. With concrete floors and lots of open space, it can get very loud, which makes it hard to visit with your table guests. But I am middle-aged and have hearing issues so this is more my problem than theirs. Amberjax is a great seafood restaurant so I am happy to encourage others to dine here. Make sure to try their Ya-Ya Gumbo! It is awesome!
Good seafood option in Dallas. Enjoyed the crab cakes and the dynamite scallops. We would go back.
Awesome food!! Great experience. Wonderful atmosphere
Fish always fresh and tasty! I've come twice in one week hoping to have the clam chowder but it wasn't available so second time I settled for their lobster bisque and it was delicious!! It's now my second favorite soup there!! Henry's Pecan Praline ice cream is to die for!!
I took my office team to Amberjax for our holiday luncheon and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The food was great, and we especially liked the steamer bowl special, which included clams, mussels, shrimp and seared scallops in a wonderful broth. The jalapeño mojitos were also extremely tasty. It’s expensive, but we will definitely be back on another special occasion!
Amberjax has a menu, but the best items may be on the blackboard, which can change daily. I had a wonderful Parmesan-crusted flounder, and my companion had the Ora salmon. Both entrees were top notch. I wish I could have tried the key lime pie, but I was just too full. Recommended! I got my reservation on Open Table.
The price and amount of food is not so good. The size of the entree such as the flounder is very small.
The bartender seemed more engaged in talking than making our drinks.
Great food, fast service.
Overall, the dining experience was very good. Initially, there was an issue with the quality of service provided by the waitress assigned to serve our table, however we addressed our concerns with a manager who apologized and quickly made accommodations to provide our table with a higher level of service. We received a different waiter who provided excellent service for the remainder of our dining experience. The food was excellent and I will not hesitate to dine at Amberjax in the near future.
Wonderful experience! Friendly staff. Great food. Hope to visit again.
Our server was Daniel, and his service was excellent! He was attentive, knew the menu well and he was very personable. The food was excellent. It was well seasoned and presented nicely.
Excellent food and service! No wait. Very pleased!
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The portion sizes were generous.
Very small portions for the price. Ordered crab cakes appetizer for $18 and received 2 cakes the size of golf balls.
I took a small group of coworkers to Amberjax this week - it was our second visit. The food is simply outstanding. Seafood is fresh and flavorful, and the cajun/creole dishes are very authentic. Highly recommend... and enjoy what has to be the largest selection of Abita Beer outside Louisiana!
The disappointing service throughout the night was ridiculous. After waiting 5 minutes at the hostess stand to be seated, it took another 11 minutes before anyone took our initial order. At the end of the night, our waitress disappeared . . . meaning I had to take my check to the bar just to pay the tab.
Thinking about the food, we were relatively pleased with salmon and shrimp dishes. Unfortunately, the poor service completely overshadows the food-portion of the dining experience.
We had high hopes for this restaurant . . . especially since it’s roughly a mile away from our place. Needless to say, we won’t return.
Our server was very attentive and personable. I'd request him again if I could remember his name. :-)
Delicious food. Perfectly cooked scallops!
Nancy was great and the meal was really good. Would highly recommend.
The food is what you go for here. The place is loud! If your going to have pleasant conversation, forget about it! You'll have to raise your voice to be heard across the table... Nothing intimate about it at all 😔
We have always loved this place. You could always count on an excellent meal. Not this time. Everything was just okay this time. Very disappointed in the serving sizes. The mussels were just okay, the broth seemed thin and not as robust as before. The lobster bisque had no visible lobster and tasted more like tomato bisque. The swordfish was good, but very small serving. The sides did not wow and the ramekins were only half full. The Cobb salad had very hard pink hot house tomatoes. Very disappointed we expected better because we have experienced better in the past. Maybe they had an off day, but disappointed because we brought another couple who experienced Amberjax for the first time. Daniel our waiter was great, very knowledgeable. Hope this is not a trend with them. Again wry disappointed.
We went with a tween but we were apparently sat in the "families" filled with small noisy children.
Fish was overcooked. Service was slow. Our server forgot our drinks until after our starters were already consumed and we had to ask where they were.
Overall, highly overrated. Although reasonably priced the value for the meal and service was only fair/leaning on poor.
I would go back only if someone really, really wanted to go. There are better options much closer to home.
