Excellent servers. lovely setting on sheltered patio looking at the gardens. Food was delicious
Magnificent experience. Loved the tribal dancing. The food and the service were incredible.
Great open air atmosphere and lovely staff. Food was yummy!
Excellent ambiance!!!! Truly a Southwest experience!
Will go back and go back. We live here full time too!
Entrees were somewhat limited but the food we ordered was VERY good and served hot, which is often lacking at many restaurants.
The included corn muffins were also very tasty.
Staying nearby for a week, it’s been convenient to eat at Amaya a number of times, and at different meal times. The food is fresh, and prepared well. The menu is varied, Southwest focused, and uses a lot of local ingredients. The beer and wine list is extensive, and cocktails are well crafted.
Serving staff are attentive and helpful.
The comfortable bright, attractive dining room is partially open, when weather permits,
Because I rated Amaya very highly, and I should make it clear that this is not a place you go for a glitzy experience. Though I occasionally enjoy that, Amaya feels solid and knows what it is and where it’s going. That said, it’s a restaurant that’s appropriate for families, but won’t disappoint for dates and special occasions.
The variety of food choices is what drew me to this restaurant. We had two vegetarians in our group and they had multiple choices on the menu. The quality and preparation of our meals was fantastic.
Beautiful setting, quiet, relaxed service, excellent food
Best steak quesadilla ever, great margaritas
Great food regional options great value. This is mostly for the food and conversation with friends. It is not intimate warm or fussy.
If you read the menu online you will be underwhelmed. Descriptions do not nearly describe what their offerings are for dinner. I had the roasted poblanos with rice and it was the best ever. Every bite was a taste treat. The almond mole sauce was not bit like some l have tried and even though it was a vegetarian meal l loved it. Also had their green salad with strawberry and grapes and everything was fresh and crisp. Everything was so good that this was our second dinner at the restaurant in 3 days. Highly recommend as there was something for everyone on the menu. First night l had the Ruby trout and it was also outstanding.
Nice restaurant, excellent food! I was traveling with my husband, mother and father, local friends recommended the restaurant, it was the best restaurant we ate at in the area. It was not inexpensive, but worth every penny!
Food and service were fantastic. Courteous, timely and great ambiance. We really enjoyed a "no problem" dinner! Thank you!!
The decor in the restaurant is beautiful and the service was excellent. Ate dinner and breakfast here and both meals were delicious. The waiters were very friendly and helpful. They gave us great suggestions of things to do during our stay.
We had a great meal. The medium plates were reasonably priced and big enough to satisfy our appetites. Thoughtful service and a cracking fireplace added to the ambiance. The guitar and flute player in the adjoining bar was fantastic!
Excellent dinner, from beginning to end. Service was very attentive, and the food was delicious. Every dish we ordered was superb (lamb chops, salmon, chile relleno). We will definitely return the next time we're in Santa Fe.
My husband and I enjoyed our meal at Amaya. It was very busy and seemed understaffed but the people were all friendly and the food was excellent. We especially loved the musician who was playing the classical guitar and Native American flute. He plays Friday and Saturday nights and made it a memorable evening for us.
The food was great, along with excellent service! The food is priced amazingly and I would definitely go again!
Disappointing. The only dish worth discussing was the tenderloin, which was excellent.
Fish (in fish and chips dish) were way over battered, batter was undercooked inside crusty layer and fish was not very good. Colesalw was mediocre. I usually like the food here but this was not a good lunch.
Usually love Amaya at Hotel Santa Fe. This time we had a server who was alternatively down right rude, then suddenly overly solicitous, and back again to brusque.
The foos, ordinarily delicious, was mediocre.
It was Valentine’s Day, so one had to expect increase crowds. Menu choice for the Price Fixe was excellent. Quality of good was very good. Conversely, the service suffered a bit due to it being crowded and a majority of people were in the lounge, which limited the staff on getting the food into the main restaurant. We had asked that the vegetables be switched on our entrees, but they blended one veggie into the sauce on one plate and didn’t bother to change mine. Also asked for ice tea (driver one rainy night). No ice tea delivered. Servers were a bit eratic and there was a very tall man who appeared to be the evening restaurant manager who “hovered” against various spots along the walls of the restaurant and was a bit obtrusive. Pretty noticeable to the patrons. Dessert was scrumptious. Might try the restaurant on a normal night. Very limited parking.
Nice place - will be back.
My companion and I enjoyed a delicious respite at Amaya. The dining room is elegant in a Southwestern way. The fireplace added warmth to an already appealing ambience. Service was topnotch, the food was delicious and I can't wait to go back. It is not inexpensive, but there is value in excellence.
I love the atmosphere of this restaurant in the winter with the cozy fireplace and the Christmas light. The food is wholesome native American, the elk is well prepared in a traditional native way.
Always pleasing to dine here. On this occasion we enjoyed the special Native American dishes of elk and quail Delicious!
Beautiful dining experience, excellent food, and good service.
The food was somewhat ordinary, and a bit pricey relative to the restaurant's location to downtown Santa Fe, but the ambience was nice and the waitstaff was outstanding!
Always a pleasure to be at Amaya. Well-managed, consistent, welcoming.
Food was low grade, overpriced and an overall let down. Online reviews very misleading. Would not go back.
My wife and I had dinner at Amaya the other night, on the occasion of our marriage anniversary. The restaurant is within a hotel, so you use any of the hotel parking slots which are all first come first served as we were told by the hotel personnel. The place was relatively empty, so that no one asked us about reservation. The food was outstanding, and the service was great: very fast and very efficient. The place seems to be great for bigger social events like corporate or birthday parties, etc., perhaps not quite so for small private parties like ours was. For its outstanding quality the food is priced very reasonably. Last (but not least): their margarita was perfect. Overall: Five stars, no questions asked.
We very much enjoyed dinner experience and chose this restaurant for dinner in anticipation of the Indian flute and classical guitar. All a treat!
Excellent Elk and steak. We very much enjoyed the food.
My "Elk" special was great! About 6 ounces of tenderloin; $35. My wife's Venison was quite good, but only about 3 ounces; $32. Seemed like a lot for a little.
I would recommend the restaurant but only after inquiring about serving size when ordering. (the Venison was more of an appetizer with a lot of vegetables)
Great after a long day of travel. We ate there twice!
Awesome atmosphere and food and drinks and service. Highly recommended!
We came here for drinks and dinner. The service was horrible - we were one of the only couples in the restaurant but had to ask multiple times for drinks, water, for our food to be ordered, etc. Drinks and food ended up being tasty but the service was not good.
The lamb chops were spectacular. Lovely ambiance, great food and great service.
The food was great and the service outstanding. Sitting on the patio in the cool afternoon was a great find.
Really enjoyed Amaya! My girlfriend ordered the salmon and I ordered the bison; both very good!
