Fantastic as always - food is first class and service is great.
And to top it off the prices are very reasonable...
I thought that the Fried Calamari appetizer was very enjoyable. The Fettuccini with a Ragu Sauce was good but I have had much better. I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the my waiter's level of understanding of ENGLISH as it related to my questions of items on the menu. With the high prices they charge here they should offer a waiter who can have the ordering process go smoothly.
Our first time there and it was great. We were there with friends and from the time we went in we had a wonderful time. Everyone was very attentive, the food was excellent, the music was just right and it was perfect having the parking garage next door!!!
Reliably delicious, friendly and professional. A neighborhood treasure.
Great experience - love that the owner spends time with his customers. Soft shell crab was amazing
We had a terrific dinner. Great service, good food and well crafted wine list
Great food. Great service. Great everything. Eat often often for years because it is great.
Would and have recommended to friends. The food and service are solidly good and well priced.
Excellent service, not intrusive but just right!
Beautiful spot—happened to be a gorgeous day so we sat in front with window open. Ahhhhh!!!
Never had a bad meal here for years!! The service wonderful. We are always treated like family.
Wpnderful experience. The atmosphere was welcoming and the service was excellent and professional. We enjoyed our meal and plan to return soon.
Very good experience. Service attentive
Food was delicious. Portions perfect. Bread amazing. And service lovely. Just a neibirhood gem!
The food was absolutely delicious, came out fast, and was hot and fresh. The pork chop was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The spicy cherry peppers weren't too spicy; it had just the right amount of kick. My colleagues had the ziti and another pasta dish. Both said the pasta was al dente and flavorful sauce.
The service was great and is a perfect spot if you're looking for a quick and yummy work lunch.
Nice neighborhood spot with solid food and excellent service. One surprising standout: they make a great martini.
We both started with ceasar salads, then my colleague had the chicken parm and I had the scallop special. While the scallops were cooked well, there were super small, almost bordering on bay scallops and definitely not the u/10 or u/15 solid in most NYC restaurants.
Other than the size of the scallops the meal was very good.
We were a group of four for dinner. We were quite surprised when we asked the waiter what a particular entree came with. He stated that ALL the entrees came with roasted potatoes we did not want roasted potatoes. We could not get pasta with our entrees. Ridiculous. As far as service, several people came to our table at different times. We were not sure who the waiter was. In addition, one person had scallops, which she believed were frozen, not fresh. Unfortunately, she got sick that evening. We ordered a dessert, which was very small. Not worth the money. It was a disappointing experience.
Great place. Good food and quiet. I would highly recommend this place. The service was very good and the atmosphere comfortable.
Food consistently good. Service attentive.
Good dining experience.
Date with girlfriend
Excellent dining experience!
Amata is like family to us. Great service..great food. They care.
I don’t give 5 star reviews. But I would give Amata 4.5 stars if I could. Was our first time dining here. Anniversary with family. Service was excellent, food was excellent. Try it.
We both loved our entrees - they were delicious. The service was attentive and the room is cozy if somewhat noisy. Clearly lots of regulars - a neighborhood standby.
Amata was delicious. We celebrated a family birthday and everyone enjoyed what they had. I want to particularly point out that the veal parmigiana was tender and delicious. This is a talent to have it so tender. The salmon was also delicious and finished in a light sauce. Appetizers and desserts were also amazing. We were allowed to linger and talk after our meal. I highly recommend this restaurant.
This was our first time to the restaurant and it was amazing . The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was very delicious. We will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you so much for an amazing experience:)
A good Italian restaurant serving the classics (parmigiana...eggplant, chicken or veal), mozzarella caprese, meatballs, and fried calamari with sautéed mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and arugula in a mildly sweet, tasty, non-red sauce (a standout). The pappardelle with crab, peas and tomato was also a very good dish. The atmosphere is warm, not frenetic and so pleasantly low key. The host and waitstaff are professional, accommodating and attentive, but not intrusive. The food and atmosphere are more old-school Italian, and dinner is relaxing, not rushed, and not a scene. We enjoyed our leisurely evening at Amata and will definitely return.
We went there for my dad’s bday. The staff was very nice, the portions were generous and the food was good. I would go back in the future.
What a great early New Years dinner we had here! Very friendly, casual, but not too casual - the service and the food were great. We will definitely go back!
Amata is a neighborhood treasure, and worth going out of the way for as well; superb classic Italian food, gracious staff and elegant but low-key ambiance. You won't be disappointed.
From start to finish our service and meals were fantastic!!! The service was excellent, the food was delicious. I was dining with 2 children and the waiter made sure to offer us something for them. Also my mom is in a wheelchair and the staff was so helpful and accommodating in helping her in and out. We will recommend to our friends and be back soon!
It was just ok,
Excellent food and service
Will be back next time in ny
Excellent, as always.
This was a delicious place to dine. We were happy to have found it on our NYC trip. We enjoyed it very much.
We were there during the Christmas season so it was very busy. Despite that, the wait staff was congenial & attentive. The five of us ordered different appetizers & entrees & we enjoyed everything! Would definitely go back. If you like dessert, the Tiramisu & cheesecake are wonderful.
Classic neighborhood italian. Fresh fish, veal, soups, pasta. The range allows everyone to find something they like. Multiple visits, consistent. Excellent dining at the bar, great bartender (Olga) makes the experience even better. Will return.
There was a wedding going on during our time there, but it was completely fine, and they treated us extremely well (we were a little rowdy ourselves). Would definitely return. Food was delicious
