Amaranth is located just off Madison Ave on 62nd St , between Fifth Ave and Madison Ave, in the heart of the most famous shopping strip of the Upper East Side of Manhattan and few steps from Central Park.
We credit our success to a very honest approach to Mediterranean cuisine: a fusion of original Italian food and French food, great hospitality and the highest quality of ingredients that we use in our recipes. A large portion of specialty items that we serve are imported from Italy and France.
Our famous Focaccia Robiola, our super fresh and tasty Seafood, creative Pasta and perfectly al dente Risotto, have attracted a dedicated fan base of New Yorkers, Europeans and celebrities, who are looking for a home away from home.
Our Mediterranean Bistro has a really charming terrace during the warm season, where you can taste our delicious food or enjoy a cocktail (try our famous Frozen Cosmo!) before dinner.
prepared to your taste and served with french fries
Grilled Atlantic Salmon
roasted asparagus and dill creme fraiche
served with tricolore salad and lemon wedge
Dined outdoors. Service was not as good as it should have been. Very pricey for what you get. Outdoor area very nicely set up.
Lovely ambience .. the worst rack of lamb that I have ever eaten .
As always what we enjoy at Amaranth is the regularity and the constancy in the quality of the food they serve not tomention theperfect service
Excellent meal, excellent service
Has the Tina Nicoise as usual. Love their salads and the bread is delicious. A lot of birthdays happening around us.
Excellent food, great ambiance!
Reception not very helpful to get you a table. I would have liked a better treatment. When you talk to receptionist is as though he is doing a favor and instead I would have liked to feel special and thankful that I chose to have dinner at Amaranth.
The waiters are excellent, amazing treatment and food excellent.
I would have like a better Malbec wine. Suggestion: Catena Zapata, DV Catena, Trapiche Medalla, Rutini.
The food and service were excellent. As the temp drops and it is darker, earlier you need more heat lamps and brighter (or more) candle light on each table.
Yes, it is expensive, but the Veal and Dover Sole were delicious, the wait staff excellent, the outdoor space lovely with tables well space. A much needed night out during COVID couldn’t have been better.
Going out with the wife, and sat in the outdoor seating area. The food was great, I recommend the zucchini garzpacho which was amazing. Everything was fantastic, and we look forward to heading back.
It was a very enjoyable outdoor dinner. Food was excellent but a little pricey. Loved the singer but felt that walking around with a bag looking for $$ was a bit tacky.
Amaranth was very good but jt was much fancier and much more expensive than expected.
To say the food is mediocre and tastes exactly like deli food would be too generous. Greens were old, salad lacked flavor, entree is just what I used to eat on campus when I had no money. Very disappointing:(
We had a great experience.
Delicious food. Great crowd. Love the outdoor seating environment they created.
We just felt that for a few hours that everything was 'normal', just like old times. Keep up the good work. I'll be back!!
Wait staff is lax
Plenty of outdoor space (on 9/26/20). Live entertainment. Food and service were top notch.
We are outside during COVID and they did a great job setting up tables etc. it was a beautiful summer evening and the food was delicious! I recommend the lobster salad and the Branzino.
Veal chop was tough I had to send it back. Although they did refund me which was nice. Chicken salad was good
Service was terrible
Restaurant was a crowded disaster. Host was rude and it was impossible to know when we would sit. We were early for our reservation and were not seated after 45 minutes plus of waiting. This place seems to just take endless reservations and ignore people when they arrive.
I love their pasta dishes!
Great local restaurant, be back soon.
Thanks for your attention Amaranth.
The cous cous with shrimp
Is to die for! Favorite spot in the city!!
Excellent value for NYC current outdoor dining. Menu best of restaurants in area
So much fun!! Delicious food and nice service!
Great outdoor setup and wonderful food as always!!
I’m Still in shock how everyone was having to make the best of this ridiculous law that wont allow us to dine inside like human beings.
Cuomo please drop dead!
Service, food, atmosphere, safety all top notch
I went there two das in a row and all was perfect.
It was as delicious as always! Loved the alfresco dining!
My experience was a very pleasant one. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice peaceful dining experience in the heart of NYC.
It was a magical evening!
This review is somewhat specific to dining in the time of Covid, but covers the service and food. We had a party of 6, and I was happy to find a restaurant that is seating people outside and also would take a party of 6. Amaranth is on a lovely Upper East Side street, so there were interesting buildings and townhouses to look at. It felt like upscale cafe dining in Europe. I had Branzino, as did one of my other friends. It was very fresh and cooked perfectly. I don't know what my other friend had, but her plate looked like it was literally licked clean. She said it was wonderful.
Service was what it should be for an expensive restaurant. The inside dining room looks like it would be a lovely place for a romantic or celebratory meal when dine-in eating is allowed again. I recommend this restaurant with no hesitation.
Awesome night outside!
Service was great for outdoor covid summer dining .Aperol Spritz good, crabmeat small and dinner portion with avocado and grapefruit delicious.
Wines by the glass good.
Music across the street added a lot to the experience!
This place was so great. Ample outdoor seating. Good was great, staff was great. Would go again!
Always a pleasure
