This place is amazing! I had a great dining experience and definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a special dinner.
Our meal was excellent! Even though it's tiny we were able to get in with my husband's wheelchair with no issues. The shrimp and scallion potstickers were delicious, and I had the Corvina fish special and hubby had crabmeat manicotti. Looking forward to going back!
Our favorite place in Downingtown one of the best in Chester County
This small BYOB is a great place for dinner of rather rich Euro-style food. (Not sure if it was butter but the flavors are high and good and require the appropriate wines to bring things into balance). EG, the Spring menu was not exactly light and spritely. Plates are fine looking but not beautiful. The main complaint from my wife is that her vegan mix of veggies was mostly cold and cold quinoi is not so interesting. She doesn't eat the night-shade veggies so no matter how good the peppers were she would not have been happy for them to be such a large portion of the plate. (So that was not the chef's bad. She should have mentioned that...and the peppers were delicious)
This was a great find! We really enjoyed ourselves with the food. They are very accommodating regarding a vegetarian diet as well!
First time for brunch though have been dining here for dinner since the day it opened. And in true Amani’s fashion, we were not disappointed!! The Benedict was incredible with two thick strips
of meaty pork belly on each toasted English muffin half. The eggs were poached to perfection and the accompanying sauce delicious. My partner was thrilled with his pulled pork frittata loaded with scallions and cooked to perfection. His sister-in-law ordered the burrito which did not disappoint in flavor and presentation although the accompanying grits were bland. My Bloody Mary was perfect for me ... not too spicy. We splurged on dessert. The chocolate cherry tart was incredible but the key lime cheesecake lacked the zesty flavor of the key lime so was not to Amani standards. We will be returning because I will be craving that Benedict forever!!
This was my first visit and I will be back. The staff was wonderful, especially our server, Cody and the food was delish.
For what they are charging the experience needs to be better. Very very loud tables on top of each other and very loud tables take over the entire restaurant. For the money there are better options for a nice night out.
Food was very good but I remember why I haven’t been back here in years.
I ordered a strip steak entree and I ate it but it was far from what I expected. It was like seared dry and tough ham steak cured with loads of salt. I concluded that it was not strip steak. It was a special for the day so maybe it was prepared differently than expected. Amanis has been a favorite place of ours for some time but not sure I am too excited about going there again.
Fantastic food every time. Ordered Branzino and Tile Fish (on special). Both were cooked perfectly. The garlic pea purée with the branzino was especially good. Amani’s never disappoints!
The food was excellent. We shared the pot stickers, spare ribs, and coconut creme brûlée as a couple, and we really enjoyed everything. Amani’s has unique takes on foods that you think you’ve had before, adding new flavors and twists to make for an exciting dining experience.
Great service and great food at a local favorite, highly recommend.
Had Mother's day brunch for the first time at Amani's today. I had a fritatta; wife had shortrib tacos; and daughter had lemon poppy seed pancakes. All were delicious. Service great as usual. It was a packed house, so the noise was up but not overwhelming. Great time overall.
Amani's dining experience was very good. There were two parties of 8 that made talking with the person across from me extremely difficult. We had to refill our own wine the entire night, but the quality of the food and preparation was outstanding.
We love bringing out of town guests to Amani's. It's our favorite local spot!
A nice treat for our anniversary. The food was great, as always.
Girlfriend Reunion Lunch! We met halfway and found a gem! Awesome GF choices and delicious entrees and kind and professional service by Maddie! Can’t wait to go back! Thanks for the good food and fine dining.
Always good. Great menu. Highly recommend.
I've been to Amani's twice recently and the food was exquisite both times.
Food well prepared, well presented, and above all, delicious. Expensive, but really, really good. Worth the money.
Our favorite restaurant in the area we were able to book on line and had a splendid meal with the usual excellent service. Our guest thoroughly enjoyed himself and my colleague, who was visiting for the first time, was delighted. This is a really 5 star restaurant which is deceptive as the outside is thoroughly unremarkable, A gem. We will be back.
Great food! Interesting flavors never tasted before. Portions were reasonable. Service was great. Only downside it was very noisy. To be fair they were packed on a Saturday night and the guy seated behind us was a loud motor mouth.
Birthday dinner was great!!
Our dishes were interesting an delicious. I had the crab manicotti with 3 sauces. So yummy!
The service is prompt and courteous. The menu is extensive and the food is very well prepared. We have been back to Amani's several times and have never been disappointed.
It was a lovely surprise. I have passed it so many times but didn’t know we had this little gem right here in Downingtown! Great food & ambiance!
I love the relaxed feel of this place . I definitely would return to try more dishes.
The ambience was very comfortable homey and inviting. The food was outstanding from appetizers to dessert. Truly, every dish was great. The smoked lamb was fabulous the strip steak with the leak sauté and fried peppers was worth coming back for!!
The only downside, every time I looked at the cook he was putting something into his mouth and eating back there while making food!!! Rhubarb strawberry Coulter’s was perfect! Will definitely return!
Easter dinner tonight. Great as always. I had the halibut special; the wife, lamb; and daughter, the NY strip steak. All delicious. My wife & daughter split the chocolate tart and I had the cinnamon raisin bread pudding for dessert. Again, all wonderful.
Amani’s never disappoints! We had the shrimp & grits, eggs Benedict and frittata. All were delicious! My absolute favorite though we’re the grilled oysters as an appetizer! Yum!
Always a good meal here and we like that he changes up the menu enough to make return visits interesting.
My boyfriend and I celebrated our two year anniversary here on Saturday. Our entire experience was phenomenal. I love the idea of a scratch kitchen and you can most certainly tell by the quality and presentation of the food. I had the halibut which was on special and my boyfriend had the grilled swordfish. The seasoning on the halibut was a bit salty but both pieces were so fresh and cooked perfectly. It is so nice to have a BYOB restaurant close by. Our server Jose was wonderful. He made sure of experience was perfect. Their desserts are homemade and delicious. We had a slice of blackberry cheesecake and key lime pie. We also were offered complimentary lemoncello shots. Overall it was a wonderful experience and hope to go back!
Great food great service, pricey but worth it! Would recommend.
Had the most amazing pork chop I have ever had in my life. They’re good is always great and that is why my wife and I continue to go back
Always a treat to go to Amani’s. I have Celiac and they are awesome. The food never disappoints and the staff is amazing. Love this place!
Dinner was excellent. 2 dozen, wide assortment of delicious oysters. Blue Points, Irish Points, Shipwreck Selects, and Beau Soleil, all superb. New Strip steak for me and lamb chop for my wife, cooked perfectly. We’ll be back.
It has a peaceful vibe and the food is pretty good. Our waiter was efficient but not too polished or personable, which some may prefer. Portions are small, and our seafood seemed to rely on salt for flavor. Our lemon ricotta dessert soumded wonderful but we couldn't taste the lemon and there wasn't much sauce, so it was disappointing. Overall, if one is looking for a BYOB with an intimate setting, this would be a good place to try. We would consider giving Amani a second chance.
Always a great experience. There is so much to love at this place. It’s one of the best (if not the best) restaurants in Chester County. They take great care to source local and their menu is on par with the Philly eateries. Service is great. It is BYO and the food offered is phenomenal
