Amani's BYOB Ratings and Reviews
We had a reservation and were seated right on time. Unfortunately we were sat next to a larger party (of 6) who were very loud and obnoxious (we weren't the only ones who thought so either). Initially there were no options to change tables and eventually the other table left. The staff were very apologetic. While the restaurant was still loud, it was more manageable. More importantly, the food was amazing! There were great options and everything came out perfect. I would definitely go back, maybe during a more quiet week night though. And I would definitely recommend it as what really matters, the food, was very very good.
Finally we were able to go to this restaurant. It has been the talk of many family and friends. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Th portions are very generous. the service is impeccable. And the food is fantastic. The menu is seasonal, so it does provide variety depending on what time of year you go. We highly recommend. This is a BYO and they also have mixers available if you bring hard liquor.
Dinner was wonderful. We had the Tomato Bisque as an app, Lobster Ravioli and Braised Short Rib Bolognese for entrées and the chocolate tart for desert. Only complaint is I think there was more lobster/bigger chinks in the Ravioli last year but overall very good.
Our waiter neglected to tell us that the special my date selected was spicy. She took about two bites and could not eat the remainder. I was going to order her a different entree (at my cost) but the waiter never came back to the table to check on us after he delivered our entrees. We tried to flag him down but he was too busy with other guests. When he did show up with the check I mentioned to him why she didn't finish her meal and his reply was, oh yeah, that's a spicy dish. This type of thing can ruin the whole dining experience.
The service was very good but overall very over priced place not to mention very loud atmosphere. Ordered the "jumbo" shrimp appetizer for $14 and we received 3 not so jumbo shrimp. My wife ordered the salmon which was good. I ordered the steak medium which came out rare, small and fatty. We came here a year ago and food was great but won't come back now.
fabulous meal for my girlfriends birthday dinner.
I brought the vodka and they made her an very good martini. I love BYOB's as I had some nice wine to share with her.
Food was great! We had Tuna Tartar- good, grilled oysters- amazing!!! Would go back for that alone.
pork tenderloin and swordfish were specials and were creative and tasty!
bourbon-peach tart was delicious for dessert.
A+ meal- I'm glad I gave it another try as my last experience wasn't good but they really impressed!
I dine here regularly. My experiences range from very good to outstanding. My last visit fell squarely into the outstanding end of the spectrum. Jonathan continues to make daring dishes that his kitchen pulls off flawlessly and delightfully. I can't wait to go back.
I've dined at Amani on several occasions and it is always at the top of my list for family and friends to show off the work of the chef/staff who use local ingredients and create delectable dishes without pretense. The staff are happy, welcoming, and just lovely to interact with--perfect balance of engagement and privacy from the serving staff. They all seem to enjoy being there---the attention to detail without pretense is refreshing. The food + experience make it one of our top choices. The noise level can be distracting if you want a completely quiet evening. Tables are spaced well-enough for privacy, but a bit noisy if you want 'intimate' setting.
A major disappointment in all areas. The service was inattentive. The gazpacho was good but nothing special. Every one of our fish entrees was severely overcooked. The tuna was ordered rare and came out medium. Another tuna. was ordered medium rare and came out medium well. The salmon was ordered medium to medium rare and came out well done and dry. The lemon merangue dessert was abominable. The shell was rock hard and it was all a soupy merangue with minimal lemon custard. I gave this restaurant two stars but I think I may have overrated it.
The server was knowledgable and attentive. She put two tables together for us because our party of 4 was a little cramped. Everyone enjoyed their meals: sea bass, short ribs, and salmon. Amani's is one of our favorite places. Ask for a table outdoors when the weather is nice.
Seemed to be short handed. Service was slow. We joked that normally at restaurants thy try to turn the tabl. We had to ask a few times for our check and then had to find our credit card which they forgot to return to us.
Food was good, just a longer experience than expected.
My husband & I went for our anniversary. Our first time there but it won't be the last. The food was exceptional, local ingredients, fresh. We had appetizers, entree and dessert. Everything was outstanding. The wait staff were great. We would definitely recommend this wonderful restaurant.
We had a great anniversary dinner at Amani's. I tried a few of the specials (gazpacho and swordfish), my husband had the salmon. We both enjoyed the duck flatbread. Dessert was great too! It's not a super quiet place, but we enjoyed it and the food was excellent.
Of course remember to BYO - they do offer mocktails that you can spike with your own spirits if you prefer cocktails to beer/wine.
We went to Amani's to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We have always had excellent food and service. The Calimari appetizer was delicious. I loved the presentation of all the plates too. We had a spring salad which was split on two plates at our request, so we could share. I ordered salmon over quinoa. It was good but slightly under salted for my palate, and my husband felt the same about his short ribs. All in all it was a pleasant experience.
