Amani's BYOB Ratings and Reviews
Our meal was absolutely fabulous from start to finish. Everything was on point and the fact that there is no salt and pepper on the table goes to show the chefs know what they are doing when seasoning. There was absolutely no need for salt or pepper to be added. The veal steak was cooked to the exact temperature that it should have been. Our server was very attentive and polite. We could not have been happier with our experience at Amanis. My wife and I would highly recommend to all.
Our reservations were for very early in the evening (5:15) and the tables were still mostly empty when we arrived. The ambiance was great for our anniversary. As the evening progressed the noise level did get a bit louder as the restaurant filled in quickly but it's a small seating area and that should be expected. The food and ambiance of the open kitchen fit well with what my wife and I prefer for dining experiences. The wait staff was friendly and prompt. Will be returning as menus rotate.
This is a favorite spot for special events... in general it's pricey, but $32 for their filet is an awesome deal. Just excellent, excellent combinations made by the chef. And they are very understanding about allergies. Eating out less and less due to allergies, and it's such a comfort knowing they take it seriously. Wonderful for a special event location.
This was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. I had the gazpacho which was probably my least favorite thing, but the vorn chowder was delicious. i had the mussels and could not get enough of the "sauce" they were in. The special which was time fish was cooked to perfection. and the chocolate ranch was out of this world, but you must like chocolate. the roll (one per person) was nothing to write home about...Bertuccis makes better rolls. all in all, fabulous meal and great service although it felt a bit rushed.
Small restaurant with limited table space. Kitchen is open for observation and the chef , owner came out and talked with us. A very nice touch, especially with the size of their space. Food was nicely presented and tasted very good. We both had salad, I had the crab cake and my wife had sea bass- followed by peach sorbet and a peach blackberry pie. Bill was 100 so not bad for full meal, but on the high side. It was our first visit. We would go back. Told menus changes three to four times a year.
As always good service.
We were a group of 4.
Salads and appetizers were great.Loved the new menu. One person had the beef filet and was very pleased.Another had the crab cakes and really enjoyed. The pork dish was not great.
The pork was tough but sides very good.Have eaten there before and always been pleased.Would go back .
We had an excellent meal. The food was quite good and the service very friendly. The calamari and pork belly appetizers were outstanding, as were the three desserts we shared paired with a Sauternes. One of our Party really enjoyed the veal chop special, but another veal chop was a little tough/chewy. If you prefer BYOBs, Amani is worth the trip to Downingtown.
I have been to Amani's several times but this was a first for brunch/lunch. Everything was exceptional and very reasonably priced. Chef Amann whipped up a creative custom vegan wrap concoction for my brother who is vegan and he was extremely happy with the meal. I absolutely love this place!
Have heard rave reviews but found it wanting. The decor badly needs a do-over , particularly the dirty and slippery tile floor, which caused myself and every other woman to traverse with extreme caution (including the v preggers one whose shoes I literally could see slipping beneath her with each step), and the slightly tacky looking orange wood panel walls and faux picket fence. The food was very decent - not WOW! but no complaints (other than goat cheese on too many things; I don't like goat cheese ever - how about some feta, some blue, and strong aged Parmesan for variety?) Service was decent and not in your face.
I have had several positive dining experiences at Amani's over the past 3-4 years. Last weekend I took my out-of-town "foodie" guests there for Sunday dinner, and what a deliciously grand time we had. We shared the stuffed zucchini blossom salad "special" for the table (the chef kindly divided onto individual plates for the 3 of us) and it was delightful. We each had an appetizer and shared bites of the Pork Belly, Grilled Oysters Amani, and the Lamb Ribs. All were delicious, but the Grilled Oysters won the award as "the best oysters any of us had ever eaten anywhere"!!! Our entrees of the Angus Ribeye, Braised Short Rib and Grilled Sirloin "special" were all perfectly prepared, equally delicious and consumed to their end! The pièce de résistance was the Strawberry Rhubarb Tart that we shared...it was to die for! All-in-all, it was our most memorable dining experience of the entire trip...maybe even of the year. If you have the chance to dine here, don't miss it!!!!!!!
No surprise Amani's does not disappoint. From service to meals everything was exceptional! Pork belly apps (with tear drop peppers a fun surprise for the palate) to perfectly cooked steaks our night was superb. A fun gem in Downingtown with chefs that are innovative and love for food come through in every bite.
Amani's is always a great place for a nice dinner. It works for special occasions or weather you want a great meal. Wait staff if great. BYOB makes fine dining affordable. We have not had a bad meal yet / it is always good. We usually split an appetizer and a salad, get our own main course (we sample each other's to check out unique flavors) and split a desert.
This was our first time at Amani's BYOB after a friend highly recommended it. The service was wonderful and attentive. The food was delicious. The only downside was the noise level. Though it was 'energetic,', it was difficult at times to hold a conversation. We would definitely go back again and highly recommend it to others.
