Amani's BYOB Ratings and Reviews
My family and I went to this BYOB restaurant for the first time on a Saturday night. You can park for free in the public parking in the back after 5pm. There are several gluten free options on the menu but vegetarians may want to come prepared with ideas as to what to order. I suggest getting the cheese board to share. The best entrees appear to have been the duck and octopus. Several of us enjoyed the espresso creme brulee for dessert. The service was excellent.
We went for Amani’s NYE prefix meal. We’ve been to Amani’s a few times and were impressed so we invited friends to join us.
Needless to say we were disappointed. For $85 pp, the food was sub par. Scallops were sandy, soup was bland, and I couldn’t even tell you our server’s name. I was very disappointed for such a steep price (plus tip).
Amani's offers great service with a friendly staff and nice table spacing. The glassware and silverware are nice appointments to the service. The food was good and nicely plated except for a miscue on the grilled chicken sandwich which was dry and totally overcooked. We enjoyed the lunch very much.
The food was excellent, the best we have had all year. I highly recommend this BYOB for its eclectic and delicious menu with beautiful presentation on the plate. They also have a martini list so bring your fav vodka or gin as well as wine. We went in the day before Xmas for “date night” so we knew it would be crowded and it was. Our only complaint is that we felt very rushed through all the courses by staff so that they could get to second seatings even though we asked to slow down when we got our bread and appetizers all at the same time as we received our drinks.
The food was very good. The service was professional. The ambience is fully satisfactory.
The prices are a little high. When we arrived for our reservation, the front desk staff was a little disinterested.
Individuals in our party of 6 had shrimp, halibut, black bass and steak. Each was very good. The cheese plate was OK.
The layout of the restaurant made our table for six a little cramped.
Overall, very good and we would recommend to friends.
First time here and overall a very good meal. Price was fair and appreciate the BYOB and available mixers ($3.50 per) if you bring liquor. Riccota cheese cake for an app was a highlight.
Butternut squash soup was tasty but too whipped and felt like I was eating air - tasty air but still air. Don't think this mentioned in the menu. Entrees of crab cakes and halibut were very good.
Waitress was nice and attentive. Tables were very close to one another which made it difficult getting to our table and felt like I was backing up to the guests at table behind me. Also, sat very close to the front door and everytime it was open we received a winter blast of cold air. Just don't sit up front at this time of year.
Have been fans of Amani’s for a couple of years. This visit and the last we’re a little disappointing. Food was not quite up to the past greatness. My husband had the salmon. It was so over salted and over cooked. I had the Lobster Ravioli. The ravioli was cooked perfectly and the lobster was delicious but a few too many added ingredients on top like sundries tomatoes. I found them to be unnecessary to this dish. Sometimes simplicity is better. Probably the most disappointing was the loud group of 8 sitting behind us. They were so loud that our waitress had to yell over them to tell us specials. This restaurant is very small for a group like that. Very disturbing to all around. You could see other patrons rolling their eyes and also being annoyed by them. Our waitress was great. Always there when we needed something.
I have enjoyed Amani’s quite a bit but think it’s time for changing things up a bit. It’s freezing when the door opens in the winter. No block from the cold temps outside and many table are near that door. I hate feeling a draft when I eat. Also I noticed that the owner hasn’t been acting as Chef when we have been there. Maybe that is the reason for the standards dropping a bit in the food. Not sure about that but there is definitely a change going on.
We first went back in June for my wife's birthday. We were impressed by the quality of the food and service. We invited our friends from Delaware for dinner last Saturday. Not only were we just as impressed as we were last June, but our friends thought this was one of the best restaurants they had ever dined in. Great job!
Server was rude- talked about us to other staff after we asked her to take a picture.
Peanut allergy was discussed when ordering the calamari- still came out with nuts which is fine but the server never came over to apologize or let us know a new one would be made.
Food was delicious- new to the area coming from Philly so I have high standards for BYOs. The ambiance was a little cheesy with the white fence and flowers. Would love something a little more cozy rather than picnic style.
Fantastic experience from start to finish. They have delicious cocktail mixers so they can make you a tasty cocktail provided you bring the booze. Additionally, the server walked us through the specials and made solid recommendations. My seared duck breast was the best duck I've ever had. Would highly recommend!
We had a great meal- party of 4. The food is really delicious- great halibut special, wonderful short rib meal. The restaurant is small and there was a party of 12- the noise was just too much. But they moved us to a nice outdoor table on a beautiful night and that worked. We will definitely be going back, but we’ll be on the lookout for a large group...
Had lunch there. The choices on the menu were wonderful - something for everyone! Everything so fresh and delicious! The server Matt was very congenial and knowledgeable about the food and its preparations. Going back for Dinner in Two weeks! Can't wait to see what's on the fall menu!
