As is ALWAYS to be expected at Amanda’s, the food and service were outstanding. Thank you!
Dinner was excellent!!! Thoroughly enjoyed. Seems the wait staff was a bit thin that night which is probably why the service was a bit slow. No worries. Already booked Easter brunch because the offerings and food were so delicious!!👍
Absolutely lovely! Will definitely come back!!
Great Brunch. Fast service. Parking as always an issue but luck out and found free Sunday street parking 3 blocks away.
Amanda's was AMAZING! Very professional and friendly staff and food was outstanding. The waiter suggested items that were popular when we asked, but was not pushy. Decor was also beautiful. Best meal so far in Hoboken.
My wife and I had dinner with our three adult sons at Amanda’s. Can’t say enough good things about it. Food, service and ambiance all excellent. Not cheap but not ridiculously expensive either. Indeed the quality of the food and service more than justifies the price.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Amanda’s. Starting with the light, rich homemade ricotta and prosciutto — which tasted like Spanish Jamon, and was delicious — and dining on the grass fed strip steak with Chimichurri sauce and seeing our friends’ duck breast and pork main courses, we were all delighted by everything that arrived on the table. Our server, also named Amanda, was particularly attentive. We had a great evening and will return.
Vegan prix fixe available nightly!
Top notch service and experience with a reasonable price
Always amazing food whenever we go to Amanda’s!
Sat us in the windowless basement when the upstairs was empty, service was terrible, food was worse...the desert was inedible...then cost $200...never ever again, I’ll go spend that at DINO AND HARRY and love everything about it
Amanda's is a great restaurant, our waiter and host were also very kind. Great food!
I usually love amanda’s. I am not sure if there was a hangover as it was day after Valentine’s Day or what but the dinner I had felt uninspired. Took us 15 minutes to sit despite a reservation (while I watched another couple who came in after us sit), the waitress while nice was sort of off, we had to send back a side because it didn’t come with what it was advertised to come with (bacon and cheese) and the sauce on some of the items was very bland. I will come back because I have had great experiences here but I have to say I am sort of on watch going forward.
One of our favorite restaurants in Hoboken.
Food and service was amazing. Had a nice night out with my girlfriend for Valentines day.
I did not enjoy the Valentine’s Day menu this year. I was really disappointed with the eggplant appetizer just because it had 4 small pieces that just did not live up to expectations. My fiancée and I love Amanda’s but this time around it was just poor- also it might have just been an off day in the kitchen it happens.
Valentines Day Is always tough. Overpriced and trying to serve as many as possible. Felt for the price the experience was not personal and too restrictive.
Also being seated in the basement was a surprise. We have eaten here before and the main rooms are quaint. I did not know there was a basement. I would have never booked it and paid that price if I did. We were in and out in under an hour. So sad as I doubt I’ll go back.
Romantic ambiance. The house like interior lends itself to a private feeling in the dining experience. Great food and great service.
Hubby and I went to Amanda's for our Valentine's Day dinner. Service was friendly and efficient. Food brought out quickly and was delicious!
I think the quality of the food and the service are just ok. Some dishes are better than others. The place is very cozy but pasta and the risotto we ordered were not as good as we have expected. The flatbread was very good and the cocktail. Overall mixed experience.
I have been coming to Amanda’s for 10 plus years. This particular night we were interested in partaking of the prix fix menu. We arrived early for our reservation and sat at the bar for a few drinks and “appys”. I ordered the salmon tartare for dinner....delicious. My entree, cod stew, was inappropriately named. There was virtually very little to no cod. The more appropriate name would be mussel stew. I expected a nice piece of cod sitting a top this dish. My husband had the key lime pie for dessert which was disappointing. The texture was dense and the flavor not true key lime. I had the flourless chocolate cake and the cake was dry. I’m not sure if there has been a change in the chef or perhaps we touched on an off night. The restaurant business is far too far intense in this area to have off nights.
My boyfriend and I went to Amanda's on their last night of restaurant week- also in celebration of my birthday. When making the reservation I included that it was my birthday and the staff at Amanda's went out of their way to make sure I felt extra special. They made sure to seat us at what I consider the best seat in the house!
Everything we ordered was incredible. We even added an order of the lobster dumplings in addition to our restaurant week selections. The dumplings are a must try.
The ambiance is quaint, warm and energetic. And the dirty martinis was one of the best I have ever had. We will definitely be back sooner than later.
Came in for a 3pm reservation and after ordering our food, we asked to keep the menu in case we decided on anything else. We were told the kitchen was closing and we wouldn’t be able to put in additional orders. Very disappointed that we were pretty much rushed out. I suggest not taking reservations at a certain time if the kitchen won’t stay open for guests. Overall an OK experience. I usually like coming here but was very turned off by the service this time.
Nice, comfortable ambiance. Immaculate & clean. The servers, owner, bar tenders & waitresses are all extremely nice.
Menu changes occassionally
Amanda's is always a great meal! And the restaurant week menu was amazing as well.
This restaurant lived up to all of the positive reviews we heard!
Welcomed on arrival. Delicious food. Great service.
What a great place! I went there with my hubby for rest. week and absolutely loved it. Food was so tasty, service was impeccable. One tiny bit of a remark is the fact that they took some time to bring each course, but it’s probably because of everything is so crafty and well made.
The food was great as was the service! We had never gone before and will definitely be returning.
We felt the service was not up to what we would expect from this caliber of restaurant. Very good service but it could have been excellent but it just missed its expected mark.
Perfect!! The D’Artagnan meat was sensational.
One of our favorite Sunday brunch spots in North Jersey! Great food and warm and cozy atmosphere! Love Amanda’s
Fabulous place to celebrate our moms birthday! Everything was fantastic. Amanda our server was the Best!
Food was excellent, service was fast and friendly. I have nit been to Amanda’s for a while. Went this time because friends went and things have inproved a lot. I wholeheartedly confirm!
I’ve always liked Amanda’s. But during my last visit, our waiter was very cold and unhelpful. He didn’t make eye contact, he appeared irritated, and he gave very short and abrupt answers to our questions like, “Are there any specials tonight?”
We ordered the cheese plate and it was dropped on our table without any explanation on what kind of cheeses were being served.
Our reservation noted that we were celebrating a birthday, and the waiter did not make any recognition of that.
Tried the early bird special at Amanda's for the first time. App, entree and dessert for one price - an outstanding value. Very attentive staff. Highly recommended!
Just a wonderful dining experience for ladies and gentlemen being served by ladies and gentlemen.
Quaint in a good way
My girlfriend’s birthday dinner. Was great. Exceeded our expectations. Thank you.
I have been to this restaurant many times, and had prior good experiences. Unfortunately, this time it was a complete miss. Never again will I book a reservation at 2:30pm on a Sunday. The brunch rush just passed and all the service was having lunch at the bar. Our waitress was asking in between bites and while sitting at the bar, if we needed anything to let her know. Our bread arrived when we ordered the check. The service was just terrible, as soon as the owner left when we arrived, it was like they were waiting for him to leave, so they could not pay attention to the customers and they could enjoyed their lunch without care.
Fabulous! We ordered three different brunch dishes and not a morsel was left on the plate
