About Amanda's Restaurant
Amanda's has been delighting customers for over 20 years. Guests enter our elegantly restored brownstones and are warmly welcomed by an accommodating staff. Although geographically close to Manhattan and certainly as culinary sophisticated, we're not slow to smile and truly aim to please each guest. Highly rated by the Zagat Guide for food, service and decor, we are proud to have been named on their short list of the state's Most Popular Restaurants. Our popularity stems from the talents of our CIA-trained chef, Rodney Petersen, our dedication to warm, gracious service and the comfortable elegance of our dining rooms. Amanda's is the natural choice for so many occasions: the romantic couple on a "date to impress," a family brunch on Sunday or the place to enjoy pre-theater Early Dinner at a price that is really too good to believe. Sophisticated wine lovers enjoy our monthly five-course wine dinners.

Amanda's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Generous Mimosas. My husband has a gluten allergy and they were very accommodating. They even made a gluten free version of Eggs Benedict using polenta cakes in lieu of English muffins. It tasted outstanding and could be a standout addition to the menu.
Everything was terrific from appetizers to desserts. Service was efficient and friendly without being obtrusive. It was our anniversary and everyone wished us a happy anniversary. Their wine specials were affordable and offered a nice selection. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
I went to this restaurant two days ago on my 40th birthday with my Mom. I loved it :) The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere of the place is just right. I never told our waiter that I turn 40 but he still treated us like queens and recommended just the right wines. Thank you Amanda's for that lovely evening :)
Love love love my Amanda’s!!! What a nice evening for an old friend of mine, and Amanda’s, as we enjoyed the food just as we always had, and had some lovely memories !
Looking forward to our Holiday celebrations with the family upon their visits!
On Sunday, August 13, 2017, my wife and I had brunch with our very good friend. It was very good. This was our third time there. We live in Manhattan. The service is very good. The restaurant was full. The decor is very pleasant. Both women had the warm sliced grilled chicken breast with a salad. I had chorizo and goat cheese omelette. Both cars were parked at the Little Man Parking Deck. Amanda's has an arrangement with that parking lot.
Been here a few times - great food and really diverse menu.
Off night for service though as it was pretty slow. Took about an hour and half before the food came out, after it took quite a while to get the check. Eventually had to physically find them and hand them the check to take care of the bill. Overall it took just about 3 hours.
Amanda's was once a great place, but it seems to have gotten lazy or is just trying to capitalize on its reputation. My wife have patronized Amanda's for over 20 years and in the early days it did service with the best NYC establishments and was supported by a creative and first rate kitchen with the highest quality output. But Sunday's brunch was a complete disappointment. A solid omelet and eggs crab Benedict was compromised by a bread basket that was dry and likely sitting since the night before. And the sorbet seemed to sweetened with an artificial sweetener rather than letting the fruit speak for itself. Maybe an off day, and maybe dinners are still ok, but the brunch is not worth the time, and certainly not the money.
Everything was great until our waiter suddenly disappeared and the service went downhill from there. We all had the prefix menu. After we were served the main course, we basically were ignored for quite some time. It was a special occasion and the service was very disappointing.
The food was great (had the hangar steak and my date had the sea bass) and service was excellent at Amanda's. I had some dietary restrictions and the staff made sure there were things I could eat and adjusted ingredients/way of cooking so I didn't have to worry about my meal. We had come for the early dinner option which was an excellent value!
Will most definitely come here again.
Amanda's is always good for a great meal. Staff is very attentive. Menu is very good, but somewhat limited in entrée selections (maybe 10 selections). Very good wine list. Seating is a bit tight, but lively. Décor is great. Be prepared to park about 6 blocks away (at the garage), unless you are lucky enough to find a street parking spot.
