Love Amanda’s! So glad to be back! Have had dinners, brunches, and parties here they never disappoint. Had dinner here again for the first time in a long time it was great. They now have nightly music too!
Never disappoints. This place always brings it’s A game
Wonderful. Service was top notch, the food was terrific, drinks very well made.
It had been years since I had been to Amanda's and it was as amazing as it was the last time I was there. The food was so incredible. The service, the decor, the atmosphere... absolutely perfect!
Food was delicious. Pasta was not homemade unfortunately. Jazz musicians were very loud during dinner.
Great food very good place to take a date for Valentine's day or special occasion
Amanda’s is consistently delicious! So happy to see them doing well during a difficult time. I went on a Wednesday evening and they had a pianist which was lovely.
The food and the service was 10/10 per usual.
Decent selection....live music too...street parking easy...
I am happy to write a review...could not have been more pleased. The owner was a especially hospitable. Felt like we were in his home.
Always consistently a fine dining experience
Wonderful food and staff
Went for brunch. Great service and food. Piano player. Quiet space. Fettuccine was amazing
It's been more than a few years since we were there last, but we were glad to find the restaurant surviving intact despite the pandemic and still offering the great ambiance with live music, having guests seated with a distance apart, and fantastic food!
Been meaning to come here since moving to Jersey City a year ago. It was everything we dreamed and more. Service was amazing, food was delicious, wine selection was great, live music was incredible and the feeling the owners and staff give you is one of being invited into their home. Book a table, you will not be disappointed!
Excellent!
Always a good evening at Amanda's. Great food, ambiance and the staff are excellent. There was a duet playing the night we were there which was just the right tone. Good social distancing made you feel safe. All in all another great night out at this lovely neighborhood staple.
Beautiful restaurant. We went for brunch, they had live music which was lovely. Food was good, but not amazing. Would certainly go back again!
The food and service were excellent and the owner could not have been more gracious. Amanda's is a neighborhood gem that will hopefully weather the pandemic.
I am definitely coming back before the holidays! Loved the winters feel with the musicians playing some Holiday Classics!! Awesome for Date night
I have been to Amanda’s multiple times but this was my first time having brunch there. I was pleasantly surprised as everything we ordered was perfect.
It was a great night out with friends and we all enjoyed our fabulous dinners
The food was excellent, the service was quick and pleasant, and the ambiance was great. The best part was the live smooth jazz, upstanding bass and keyboard.
Chopped salad was bland and simple.
The restaurant is very cozy, the music playing in the background was lovely. My friend and I wanted a quiet place to catch up and not be disturbed or rushed. We were not even finished with our appetizer and the entree was served. We had mentioned to the waiter we were not in a rush. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant. Amanda's is not a fast food restaurant. While our server was nice, we did not appreciate the food being served so quickly especially in a restaurant such as Amanda's.
Excellent food and service all round. Warm and cozy and perfect fir an evening out together. Will definitely be back.
Noise level really isn’t relevant since they had a piano and bass combo playing. Cole Porter mostly. We went on a Thursday evening and it wasn’t crowded, maybe three other tables. Many interesting dishes on the menu. We settled on a trio of empanadas for the appetizer, then shared a bean, sausage and cavatelli cassoulet, a beet salad and an eggplant parmigiana. Split and apple fritter for desert. A very nice evening. We’ll be back, I’m sure.
The food was horrible and the room was freezing. Will never return.
Wanted to say more about my dining experience here on a Saturday night but unfortunately couldn’t. First there were no heaters for outdoor dining patrons. Ordered the Seafood Tagliatelle and Sautéed Spinach - both relatively blend. The Argentinian sausage was OK. Best thing of the night was the Flourless Chocolate Cake which was quite delicious.
We dined outside for the first time in many months. The table was properly distanced, the service was attentive and the meal was so good.
Amanda’s was truly a stellar experience from start to finish. Aside from the great food and solid wine list. It’s the people there that make the experience so good. I called ahead of time with a special request and for flowers to be set up at the table for my girlfriends birthday, and they did so! The staff who I spoke to on the phone even came by to check in and made sure everything met our standards. It’s that type of personal touch that will have me recommending Amanda’s to just about everyone.
Every aspect of our dining experience was amazing- apps, entree’s, service, ambiance. Will definitely be back
The venue has a really cute atmosphere. There were only 2 other tables on a Sunday evening which surprised me as the reviews here seem pretty solid. Ordered their most expensive white wine which was only $48 for a Sancerre. Ordered the mussels appetizer which was good. The server said we needed to order bread for $7 to dip in the mussel’s white wine sauce so I said sure. When the mussels came out, it already had its own bread so the girl server was totally leading us on. since we already told her our entrees first she knew we ordered more than enough food and didn’t need the bread. It was 3 pieces of Focaccia that was obviously old as the middle was stale and hard.
The menu was an odd mix of Argentinian, Italian, and steak and potatoes. It was REALLY difficult to decide what would go well together. We ordered the steak, chimichurri grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, garlic spinach, and mushrooms. All of the food was good but average; definitely nothing to rave about. The dulce de leche cake for desert was awesome.
The bill came to $156 and some change. I ALWAYS tip the standard 20% which would have been about $31. It took 15 minutes to get the server’s attention and I placed 2 $100 bills in the bill folio. When she came back I said were ready and I’d like a little change. She opened the sleeve saw what was there then scoffed at me that do I really need change then mumbled something under her breath while walking away. 10 minutes later she return with 2 $20s and a few singles then says that all of my change is there counting even the pennies in a very condescending tone. Then stormed off. Now I’m stuck with 2 $20s and I just wanted to give her the $31 and leave at that point. Another 10 minutes pass and I tell her I need change of one of the $20s. She seemed extremely aggravated and inconvenienced and even stated that she didn’t know if she could even get me change. When she returned she literally threw the money on the table and stormed off again.
Worst server!!
Amazing dinner, the service was phenomenal and the pianist really set the mood. Will definitely be returning!
This place never disappoints! Always great food, great service, and fair prices. Definitely recommend!
Quality food
Waiter was great
Liked the music
Prices were VERY fair
Definitely go back
AMAZING EXPERIENCE ALWAYS!!! It’s my second home!!!
As is ALWAYS to be expected at Amanda’s, the food and service were outstanding. Thank you!
Dinner was excellent!!! Thoroughly enjoyed. Seems the wait staff was a bit thin that night which is probably why the service was a bit slow. No worries. Already booked Easter brunch because the offerings and food were so delicious!!👍
Absolutely lovely! Will definitely come back!!
Great Brunch. Fast service. Parking as always an issue but luck out and found free Sunday street parking 3 blocks away.
