Another great meal at Amalfi’s !!!
Celebrating both a Birthday and Retirement. Excellent Food! No, above excellent there was sooo much flavor , we all couldn’t stop talking about all the great choices we made. The white Pizza is to die for !!
my company hosts a dinner every year during a high-end consumer audio industry convention.
we could take our guests anywhere in the northern DC area.
we chose Almalfi every year, and every year they outdo themselves.
family run, they make us part of the family every time we share dinner with them.
very special people, exquisite food, warm personal atmosphere.
a total dining experiance that you will only find in a handful of restaurants in the USA.
full disclosure: i spent time in the food industry years ago & very few restaurants at any price ever impress me. let alone compel me to take time to write a review.

Delicious family owned Italian eatery in Rockville.
I genuinely was misguided by the other reviews. The food was plainly poor. The customer base that night was majority elderly so my guest assessed that they must be the misleading reviewers. I had lasagna and they had chicken parm. My lasagna was in a deep dish of plain red sauce, and unbelievably unflavorful. As a lover of pasta, cheese, and meat, it was the blandest meal I’ve had. My guest had chicken parm which was pasta with red sauce on the right of their plate and to the left a baked chicken leg with melted cheese on top. They did acknowledge that their chicken was juicy but that’s the only high note of either of our meals. I finished half of my meal before giving up and filled up on bread and butter prior to leaving. I wouldn’t recommend or return.
This place is an absolute gem. Only just recently found this place for an impromptu dinner date, and I've lived in the neighborhood for years. Attentive service, amazing food, and all reasonably priced. Have I mentioned the amazing food?
Absolutely worth your time to swing by.
We were very pleased with the food, service, and friendliness of the staff. The meal was exceptional - run and get the Bronzino, it's amazing!
I've been eating at Amalfi's off and on for 18 years. Short of going back to Italy, it is the best Italian restaurant I've found.
Although white pizza tasty, very disappointed with general menu items including that chicken is not deboned.
From the warm greeting at the door to the fabulous food, dinner at Amalfi is a wonderful experience! You feel like family there. Eggplant Parmigiana and Veal Parmigiana were delicious, and the service was attentive and fast. We'll go back very soon!
Always delicious. Our family favorite for many years.
Initially, the hostess was seating my wife and me at an inside corner table around a wall with no visibility to the main dining area where there were plenty of available seats for our 6:00pm reservation. Once I requested seating in the main dining room, she had to "check" first (which was a little odd since we had reservations). It was my wife's birthday and I didn't want to be in a hidden corner when the main dining area was more than half empty. I was offered the sole table in the center of the dining room (in the middle of traffic) which I declined to request one of the windowed tables that was available, instead, where we eventually were seated.
After that initial uncomfortable introduction, the rest of the evening and meal were absolutely outstanding! Every item we ordered (chicken fettuncine alfredo, white bean soup, white pizza, sautéed kale, eggplant parmmasean, terrimisu, expresso, ….) was prepared, plated, and seasoned to perfection -- every single item, without exception. Admittedly, we were hungry, but not so starved that we would have eaten anything regardless of how it tasted. Quite the contrary, the food made us slow down to relish the flavors and textures.
This was our first visit, but it definitely will not be our last. My biggest fear is that our experience might not be as extraordinary on our next visit. What if we come on a weekend night instead of a mid-week early evening? What if we come for lunch instead of dinner? What if …….?
Imagine that -- a dining experience so uniformly outstanding that we now are stressing about going back? Now, that is most telling!
Nonetheless, we will take the chance. You should too!
Felt it was overpriced and just ok food. Was not memorable nor good value.
Wonderful dinner in a nice restaurant hidden in an industrial park. The food and service were excellent. The Italian entrees were superb, as well as the desserts. Our family had a very enjoyable and comfortable night.
We've been going to Amalfi Ristorante for years. Always good, always friendly staff. We love the white pizza, but can't say I've ever had a bad dish.
We really enjoy dining here. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. The food never disappoints and the way they prepare their chicken dishes is very unique as well as delicious. You can be comfortable either dressed up or casual. This is our go to restaurant for a nice Italian meal.
We waited too long for our food while others around us were being served. The food was on a par with diner food, fine but nothing special.
It depends. As a local restaurant near hotels and office buildings the food was good but not great.
I had a lamb bolognese dish and it was almost too salty to eat... The fried zuchini was flat tasting, more floury than anything else.
The service, however, on a weekday night was great Their wine list is respectable.
I have never had a bad experience at Amalfi. Will definitely keep coming back
Excellent service, excellent food. A "winner" for so many years!
My husband found this restaurant some years back for Valentine's Day. He found this on the internet and it was one of the best choices he has made. We love this restaurant and the coziness and the friendly people! The food is incredible; home made pasta, great drinks and the Limoncello cake is to die for! We recommend Amalfi's to all our friends.
I had the best meal at Amalfi that I've had in years. It was truly a wonderful dining experience. The service was great, and the food was beyond exceptional. Their bronzino rivaled 5-star Michelin restaurants. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting fine authentic Italian dining.
Food was good. Friendly family owned restaurant. We were using a gift certificate. Waiter for other tables was quite jovial, but too loud in my opinion. We heard every word he said.
An impressive update on the classic Italian family restaurant. The menu is wonderfully varied but draws its strength from its roots in classic Italian cuisine. Service is friendly and attentive as well as highly professional. We tried this on a Sunday afternoon, and the place filled up quite quickly. Make sure to reserve.
I had softshells which were great! Everyone enjoyed their choices but we all felt the menu was limited as far as veal dishes. Veal piccata is a popular dish but they only had veal parmesan. We also like spinach but they didn't have it and we weren't told that they did have sauteed kale. Appetizer was great as was dessert!
Always a delight to eat here and Jeremy is the best waiter ever.
This is an updated but still old fashioned Italian restaurant. Family owned for two generations. Recommended highly.
Great food and service.
Amalfi's is one of my favorite places to eat in the area. They are a family owned and ruined business and they make you feel special every time you go into dine.
We recommend that to everybody, We drive all the way from Tysons Corner Virginia to Rockville to eat their. The best white pizza in the world fettuccine Alfredo is mouth watering, A great mom and pop operation in Rockville for many years
Great food, friendly staff and management. Truly a family feel to the restaurant and not just another depersonalized corporate style dining experience!
Fine food and excellent service. On street parking available during the weekends
Thoroughly enjoyed dinner at this restaurant!
I've been eating at Amalfi's for years and it is one of my all time favorite Italian restaurants. I brought a large group from out of town for a business dinner and they were a little unsure when we pulled up to the location (back in some warehouses) but they were all amazed at the food and service. Another win for Amalfi's!!
Let’s just say I will not be back. The place is old and tired. The food tastes institutional and some had to be returned. The service was not up to today’s standards. I’m surprised they are still in business.
Good old school Italian food done right. We plan on returning soon.
Wonderful food. Very attentive service. Easy parking. Would definitely plan to return in the future.
Always enjoy the softshells . I like the specials as well. The food is consistently good.
We loved everything about the place other than the food. We thought the food was average to good. Loved the environment and wait staff. Very helpful and attentive. $100+ is a fair amount to spend and not to find the food at least good. Not sure we will return.
We have been here a few times with either grandchildren or elderly in laws. A good fit for those types. Wine list is dull. Lacked an alternative salad dressing. Otherwise an adequate meal, not for special ocasions.
