Amalfi Ristorante Italiano
I have been to Amalfi many times in the past 15 years, with my work colleagues when I was working and with my family. It has never disappointed us.
Amalfi is one of my favorite places to eat, the food is always good and the service is good as well. Family owned and operated, so you know the food is always made to order.
Food was excellent
Amalfi's is the best. When we decide to go out for dinner we never discuss where.
It's always Amalfi. The owners and staff are great and we love Italian food.
Classic, consistent, always very tasty! I love the enthusiasm of the staff, and its great to see familiar faces each time we go. The eggplant parm is exactly like my grandfather made it.
We went for my son's 10th birthday since he loves Italian food. The server's suggestions were right on and the food was delicious, especially the handmade pastas. We live 45 mins away and are trying to figure out when we can get back for a delicious meal!
Wonderful birthday dinner with the family. We received a hearty welcome when we entered the restaurant and the service was great. The food is excellent as always. Cannot wait to go back.
Wonderful! Food was incredible, we can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.
It was just ok.
This is our favorite family restaurant. Ten of us have eaten there for the past several Christmas Eve dinners. The staff is very accommodating and we always feel welcome. There is something on the menu for everyone in the family. One dish everyone from young to old loves is the white pizza!
Superb food, outstanding service and wonderful and caring ownership. One of the best restaurants anywhere. Never a bad meal and great wine selection..
The food and service are good but the prices seemed high for the quality. The absence of Lasagna and Tiramisu on the menu when we were there was a miss as well.
You can't go wrong with the eggplant parm! It is always consistently delicious. The wait staff are friendly but not in your face trying to hurry you along. Nice place for a relaxing dinner catching up with friends.
This is a hidden gem that I highly recommend. The food and inviting atmosphere reminded me of Italy and the amazing Italian cuisine.
wonderful! the food was perfectly prepared & served very quickly. we would recommend & will go back soon!
Always wonderful. My favorite restaurant. Best Eggplant Parmesan on the planet.
Best white pizza in town!
We have been coming to Amalfi's for a number of years. They make one of the best white, cheese pizza's. My wife had the eggplant parmigiana which was excellent and crispy. I had the frutta-di-mare over linguine. Only mussels and clams were great but the calamari was slightly over cooked. I had the white garlic sauce with was too watery but the flavor was still good. Differently we will come back.
Always a pleasure to eat here -- with a group or just with a couple of friends.
It's local, it's been here for over 40 years, and it keeps improving.
We had the pleasure of taking 3 of our Italian cousins visiting the US for the first time here to celebrate my brother's birthday and their visit. The food was mouth watering and any special requests were honored as we had 3 vegetarians in our group of 9. Our Italian cousins had never eaten white pizza and they were intrigued by it and enjoyed every morsel. John is always attentive and the bus person was also stellar in his customer service. Although a few specials were sold out there was plenty of delicious choices on the menu. The speed and accuracy of our orders was remarkable and we always tussle over the foccacia bread and homemade whipped butter. We also recommended everyone to share a dessert as they are also exquisite. It doesn't have to be a special occasion to dine at Amalfi's however the staff always makes you feel special whenever you dine there.
I’ve never been to an Italian Rest that serves chicken parm with the bones. Usually a nice thin cutlet is served. Food was not good. Ladies bathroom was filthy.
Amalfi's is our "go to" restaurant. We've been eating here for years more than three times a month. Everything is great! And not noisy!
Excellent vintage atmosphere, you completely forget you’re more or less in an industrial park. The staff nails the tricky balance between attentive and overbearing. The food - gnocchi for me and a sausage/mushroom pasta special for him - was incredible! And the cannoli?? YUM. Wine list by the glass or half carafe was not extensive but the Chianti we ordered was just right. Multiple dining rooms so we didn’t feel crowded even though we saw several people making their way out, so there must have been quite a few tables when we arrived for our 8 pm reservation. We intend to come here again with the in laws.
Excellent food and service. From soup, appetizers, main courses, beverages and amazing white pizza.
Amalfi is tried and true Italian home cooked food. My family has been going there since 1979, and we have never had abad meal.
My wife knows my favorite restaurant is Amalfi’s and she took me there for my birthday. I had the seafood platter in white sauce and it was absolutely delicious as I’ve come to expect over the many years I’ve eaten there. So was the Cannoli.
This is an excellent family-run restaurant, a bit of a hidden gem. The service is very personable, and the food is quite good. They also are very accommodating for people who need (or just want) gluten-free options. They even have gluten-free calamari!
Fantastic food served by fantastic people. If you have any questions about a dish or suggestions do not hesitate to ask. This is a family favorite that my parents found when they first moved to the area decades ago and I would suggest it to anyone.
Another great meal at Amalfi’s !!!
Celebrating both a Birthday and Retirement. Excellent Food! No, above excellent there was sooo much flavor , we all couldn’t stop talking about all the great choices we made. The white Pizza is to die for !!
my company hosts a dinner every year during a high-end consumer audio industry convention.
we could take our guests anywhere in the northern DC area.
we chose Almalfi every year, and every year they outdo themselves.
family run, they make us part of the family every time we share dinner with them.
very special people, exquisite food, warm personal atmosphere.
a total dining experiance that you will only find in a handful of restaurants in the USA.
full disclosure: i spent time in the food industry years ago & very few restaurants at any price ever impress me. let alone compel me to take time to write a review.

Delicious family owned Italian eatery in Rockville.
I genuinely was misguided by the other reviews. The food was plainly poor. The customer base that night was majority elderly so my guest assessed that they must be the misleading reviewers. I had lasagna and they had chicken parm. My lasagna was in a deep dish of plain red sauce, and unbelievably unflavorful. As a lover of pasta, cheese, and meat, it was the blandest meal I’ve had. My guest had chicken parm which was pasta with red sauce on the right of their plate and to the left a baked chicken leg with melted cheese on top. They did acknowledge that their chicken was juicy but that’s the only high note of either of our meals. I finished half of my meal before giving up and filled up on bread and butter prior to leaving. I wouldn’t recommend or return.
This place is an absolute gem. Only just recently found this place for an impromptu dinner date, and I've lived in the neighborhood for years. Attentive service, amazing food, and all reasonably priced. Have I mentioned the amazing food?
Absolutely worth your time to swing by.
We were very pleased with the food, service, and friendliness of the staff. The meal was exceptional - run and get the Bronzino, it's amazing!
I've been eating at Amalfi's off and on for 18 years. Short of going back to Italy, it is the best Italian restaurant I've found.
Although white pizza tasty, very disappointed with general menu items including that chicken is not deboned.
From the warm greeting at the door to the fabulous food, dinner at Amalfi is a wonderful experience! You feel like family there. Eggplant Parmigiana and Veal Parmigiana were delicious, and the service was attentive and fast. We'll go back very soon!
Always delicious. Our family favorite for many years.
Initially, the hostess was seating my wife and me at an inside corner table around a wall with no visibility to the main dining area where there were plenty of available seats for our 6:00pm reservation. Once I requested seating in the main dining room, she had to "check" first (which was a little odd since we had reservations). It was my wife's birthday and I didn't want to be in a hidden corner when the main dining area was more than half empty. I was offered the sole table in the center of the dining room (in the middle of traffic) which I declined to request one of the windowed tables that was available, instead, where we eventually were seated.
After that initial uncomfortable introduction, the rest of the evening and meal were absolutely outstanding! Every item we ordered (chicken fettuncine alfredo, white bean soup, white pizza, sautéed kale, eggplant parmmasean, terrimisu, expresso, ….) was prepared, plated, and seasoned to perfection -- every single item, without exception. Admittedly, we were hungry, but not so starved that we would have eaten anything regardless of how it tasted. Quite the contrary, the food made us slow down to relish the flavors and textures.
This was our first visit, but it definitely will not be our last. My biggest fear is that our experience might not be as extraordinary on our next visit. What if we come on a weekend night instead of a mid-week early evening? What if we come for lunch instead of dinner? What if …….?
Imagine that -- a dining experience so uniformly outstanding that we now are stressing about going back? Now, that is most telling!
Nonetheless, we will take the chance. You should too!
