Reservation was canceled by Amadeus after we had received a confirmation. They closed restaurant for Thanksgiving prep. Not very coordinated.

Made reservations with OpenTable for dinner for two at Amadeus Manor. Reservations were confirmed by email. My wife and I arrived, on time, at the restaurant to find an empty parking lot and a long walk up hill on a roped-off driveway to the restaurant. The lights were on, tables set, no one in the restaurant, door locked, and two nice, well-fed cats at the door. My wife called the restaurant's phone, and an answering machine offered to take our reservation, but nothing else. Called one more time with the same result. The restaurant is in an odd, quaint location and is hard to see in its entirety, so we drove around the neighborhood to see another entrance could be found - nope.
This was a very planned, rare, and special evening with my wife. The drive to the restaurant was long.

Truly enjoyed eating here. The prices were high but the quality of food matched what was paid for. Would definitely recommend, especially on a Summer night. Beautiful view over the Willamette River.

Had a real nice experience at Amadeus Manor. This was a late mother's day dinner for my wife and I. Real comforting location. Good service in the bar and the dining room. I would recommend and plan to return with friends and family.

Mother's Day brunch was a big disappointment. The food was cold and mushy, there was only one dessert option, and we were seated in a random upstairs room with no view. My elderly father has limited mobility and was forced to climb 3 flights of stairs with a cane. Definitely not worth the money. The staff all seem to be running around like chickens with their heads cut off and service was awful.

Amadeus Manor is so beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous. The house is beautiful. Mothers Day brunch was way too expensive for the food choices. The buffet was full of lovely comfort food, but there was no price listed online. It was almost $100 for 2 people to eat and have two mimosas.

Amadeus at the Fernwood delivers the ultimate, elegant, slow-food experience! We've been celebrating special occasions and treating visiting family and friends to this rare treasure for over 20 years. The food is always remarkable, and the ambiance is unparalleled. How we love to wistfully imagine what it was like to live there! Simply put, this is classic fine dining at its best.

This was an ideal setting for a romantic date night out with my husband. The fireplace was beautiful and large. It was quiet and perfect for conversation. The view of the water was amazing. In my opinion tips should be based on service, and we left a large and well deserved tip. The wait staff was informative and friendly and we got our food in a timely manner. Speaking of food, the authenticity was superb when it comes to Austrian cuisine and it was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Don't rely on their website. New owners, as of 7 months ago, and they haven't been able to update the website. Went in for the "Thurs 17.95 3-course Austrian meal" OR the advertised "$10 early bird special from 430-630 daily". Neither existed. Meals were $25-$40. Ordered the $16.95 escargots for an appetizer. They took forever and half the dish came charred. The butter was literally blackened and hard. Had to wait for a new dish to be made. The owner kindly gave us complimentary desserts to make up for it. The rest of our meal was "so, so". Beautiful view. Gorgeous fireplaces. But their menu needs revamping & the restaurant needs updating. Bathrooms were freezing cold. This restaurant has potential under the right management.

Continental/Alpine style fine dining in a beautiful, historic setting with an amazing view. The food is classic Euro cuisine beautifully executed. The service was lovely and the ambiance can't be beat with absolutely spectacular hilltop views of the Willamette. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous fireplace, beautiful fresh flowers on the table, river views, and delicious food. The from scratch sauces on the entrees were quite yummy and everyone loved the bread. Seemed like service was more put together than a previous trip, think the owners have some good ideas about improvements to the restaurant.

The former Fernwood Inn is magnificent, the new owner Sydney is very gracious and accommodating. The views from each room are unbelievable, there is history in every room. Her chef is a master...the oysters were perfectly prepared...and the chocolate torte was sublime. Even the mashed potatoes were a masterpiece!

We booked a reservation for Valentines dinner at 8 pm, and were seated at 8:15 pm, which is not bad considering how busy it was there. The food was amazing, and the ambaince was spectacular, but they really failed on the service that night. Which is unfortunate, because this was our first time visiting, and first impressions are everything. Our servers were working very hard, they simply were understaffed, and I fault the management for this oversight. There are 3 levels, a bar downstairs, and 2 dining areas on the 2nd and 3rd story, which each of the wait staffers had to walk up and down all night. We waited about 20 minutes before somebody even came to our table to ask us for drink orders, then I had to ask this person to find us a server, which is pretty bad. Nowhere on opentable or the Amadeus website did it mention there would be a 'special' menu...so we only had three entree options to choose from. Again, delicious, but perhaps advertise next time there will be a special menu. And we didn't get our bill until 10:30 pm for an 8 pm reservation, on a Tuesday night. Unacceptable. I look forward to giving them another try because it is close to our house, and loved everything else. But this really put a damper on our Valentines date.

My wife and I went to Amadeus Manor for Valentines Day this week. While the food was superb, the service staff was completely unprepared for the volume of patrons. We found it most concerning that when we arrived, we informed the hostess that we had reservations for 7:30PM, she sent us downstairs to see if we could get a table there, after sitting downstairs and being ignored for 30 minutes, we returned to the seats just inside the main entrance where the hostess would have to see us every time we turned around. While our strategy to get a table worked in only an additional 20 minutes, we felt as though it was a waste of time to make a reservation since there was no waiting list being used whatsoever.

Once we finally were seated, we were treated to moments of good service and excellent food separated by long periods of time being ignored. Our dining experience lasted 3 hours. Amadeus is under new ownership and the quality of the food leaves us willing to give them another chance on a non holiday with the hope that they quickly get everything figured out.

Nice building but the owner knows nothing about service. We went for Valentine's Day.
We had reservations. They did not have a table for us and they told us to go downstairs and find one ourselves. There was no greeting, no direction, food was cold and very late - drinks took forever. And the worst part was the bait and switch on the menu. The website made no mention
of a set menu that cost between 50.00 - 65.00 each. That was a shocker ...especially since the food/service was not worth the price. Too bad the new ownership has not improved the service/food. The building is very nice and has a terrific view.

They did not honor my OpenTable reservation. There were many other problems with this bizarre, ridiculous restaurant...but that's the main one in this context. How can you participate in OpenTable if you don't honor a reservation? To paraphrase Seinfeld, anyone can just go around taking reservations -- it's meaningless unless you actually HOLD the reservation.

We went here for Valentine's Day and made reservations in advance. When we arrived they informed u they were running behind but that there was extra seating downstairs. We weren't early we were there on the dot and we weren't the only ones there were at least 7 other couples who had reservations placed in the same situation. The extra seating lacked the ambiance that was the reason for coming and when we went down there only 2 tables out of 6 were set and ready for guests.

There was only a single wait staff who was in the middle of setting the tables and found herself trying to take care of four tables at the same time while still setting up the other tables. She di her best alone but it was a full hour before she got help with the tables which meant she often forgot things and missed taking care of some of the guests ourselves included. It was a busy day and don't fault her but do hold the place accountable for putting and keeping her in that situation.

We had looked online at the menu and the selection looked good and prices reasonable with an average of $25 a plate. What we were handed was a special limited menu for Valentine's Day with only three selections File Mignon, Salmon, And Chicken in Mushroom sauce, with all the sides being identical. On top of this the prices ranged form $50 to $60 per plate a huge price differential. When the food came out it was clear they had been made in advance and waiting to be reheated.

I have never felt more ripped off in my life. While I can forgive certain aspects since t was an extremely busy night and tables weren't turning fast enough there was obviously no effort to manage reservations or ensure that the overflow tables received the attention they deserved. I felt completely ripped off considering the price I paid versus the quality of the food and could not even recommend the place on a non busy night. It was a complete waste of time and money.

We had dinner at the Amadeus Manor for my wife's birthday in February. They had the Valentine's menu available. They were unfortunately out of a couple of other items, but the seafood stuffed filet was excellent. Service was a bit underwhelming (the owner is new, I'm not sure about the staff), but not bad.

Unfortunately we dined at Amadeus during an "off" night. They were celebrating the pianist's 92nd birthday and filming the restaurant as well. When we've been there in the past it's been a calmer, quieter evening.

The new owner doesn't have restaurant experience but she's been working closely with Kristina (the previous owner). She's very friendly and has lots of new ideas including changing the name back to Fernwood Inn which was the name of the restaurant in the 1970's. I hope she makes it successful business.

The food was very good however, I was disappointed that the Steak Madagascar was New York Strip when Kristina owned the restaurant, now it's Top Sirloin. Still very tasty. Our favorite dish at Amadeus was the Chateaubriand and that may be leaving the menu. Jury's out all in all but my husband and I will try the restaurant again in the future.
