Though we love children, our restaurant isn't very Children Friendly. For those Children that are well behaved we will accommodate them the best we can.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with a trip to Solvang and dinner at Aly's. With the exception of a dinner I had in Belgium during the early 1980's, this was by far the best dining experience ever! Ambiance was elegant but cozy; service was perfect and the food/wine exceptional. We both ordered the tasting/food pairing chef special. Food and wine were perfectly paired. We are lamb lovers and the lamb course was spectacular. Never had lamb so tender and flavorful. We have been raving about the meal to anybody who will listen and we peaked the interest of several people who we subsequently met at Solvang area wine-tasting rooms. Highly, highly recommend this place to anybody who has plans to be in the Solvang area.

Friendly and inviting atmosphere. The owner, Aly, was delightful and welcoming as she strolled from table to table. We enjoyed our meal and will definitely return the next time we are in the area.

My Fiance and I enjoyed a very nice Valentine's Day dinner. They provided excellent and thoughtful service to us throughout. The Owner even came by our table a few times to make sure that everything was satisfactory, as did our waiter. When we were set to leave, the Owner came over to escort us out and wish us a very pleasant evening. All-in-all, first rate! The next time we are in Solvang, we will be sure to stop there for dinner.

We never go to Solvang without having dinner at Aly’s. Food and service are always excellent. I had halibut and my husband had filet mignon and they were both outstanding. Their tasting menu is always excellent as well.
Unimpressed, the food portions were very small and overpriced. a $45 steak had no flavor. Wine was mediocre. There are many other places in Solvang that are much better, will not return.
We went as a group of eight and restaurant was not that busy. Loved the homelike atmosphere. Only complaint was how poor the service was. Our young waiter may have been new. Slow taking our order, getting our wine, bringing bread, clearing our dishes , ets. Maybe needs better training?
We loved our food and each other’s company so that helped us be a little more patient.
Overpriced for what you get and food preparation wasn’t as upscale as we had anticipated. Not bad food simply not great food.
We had a wonderful meal at Aly's on a Sunday evening. Aly herself was there, occasionally stopping to chat with customers. She farms some of the food used in their menu herself which I was very impressed by. The food was so delicious, every course was impeccable. The chef came out at the end of the evening and chatted with us for a short time, and made sure we enjoyed our meal. It was a very intimate setting, very romantic, and the service was impeccable. We don't get to Solvang very often, but I will make sure to visit Aly's again.
My wife and I really wanted to like this place but it fell short on service and the food was not worth the price. The waiters were nice but they never followed up on our meal, didn’t refill our waters after we asked, and there was food missing on our appetizer that the waiter had said they would look into and never came back with a follow up. As for the food, we got the lobster Mac n cheese, which was good but it didn’t come with homemade croutons as it stated on the menu. We asked the waiter curiously if indeed it was supposed to have croutons, they never confirmed. It wasn’t a big deal to us or didn’t ruin our dinner since it was tasty anyways. Then our mains came, we got the fish and scallops. The scallops were over cooked. My husband described them as hockey pucks and the asparagus that came with it was chewy, as if it wasn’t cooked enough. The fish has good flavors but it was still gooey in the center. You can see the fish guts/slime when you pierced it with a fork. I ate the edges because I was hungry and service was slow so we just ate our food, paid the bill and left. The restaurant was probably less than half full. The ambience is quiet and the interior is cute and romantic. Based on our food and service, it was not worth the price we paid.

Wonderful spot to visit in solvang! Be sure to try their pre-fixed menu with paired wines! Wonderful! The chef came out and chatted with each table. Wonderful ambiance with appropriate noise level for good conversations and privacy. We will come back for sure!
The only problem was they had run out of supplies such as a certain wine, lemons for water, etc. our main courses were divine and if Solvang wasn’t so darn busy (yeah for tourism) it might have been perfect.

Made a reservation for the earliest seating on Christmas night. Big mistake. There was no advanced notice that it was a preset menu. Got there and the ordinary and overpriced dinner took well over 2 1/2 hours. The food was fine but completely ordinary nothing special about this place at all. The decor was bland, we had a wonderful view of a framed Open Table award. I was really surprised as the reviews were good but I was extremely disappointed by the extremely SLOW service. We waited forever to order from the set menu then it took forever to get wine then 30 mins for our salad then over an hour for the main course. Just when you thought the kitchen was getting it together you were in for another excruciating wait, It was basic food: Filet Mignon & Scallops... there was no reason at all it should have taken that long. Waiters were hiding in the kitchen so they would t have to deal with customers. It was truly a bizarre experience. To boot the 20% service charge was added to the check at the end of the meal. I get it it’s Xmas and it’s normal to have a set menu but that’s all the more reason to have everything coming out in a reasonable amount of time. The place is overrated and WAY over priced. There are so many better fine dining options in Solvang, Ballard and Los Olivos that are so much better at similar price points. Don’t waste your time here.

We waited for someone to take our order for over 30 minutes. Our salads came at least 1 hour from the time we were seated. The portion of our food was minuscule.

Went for Thanksgiving dinner. Unfortunately they ran out of fist course soup as we were last seating at 8 pm. Otherwise great food. Owner made it up to us by not charging us for wine.
Thanksgiving Day was my second occasion to go to Aly’s. I was very disappointed as the place was so noisy & I could not hear my soft-spoken friend’s conversation. The special menu was extensive, I chose the turkey, wish I’d chosen another option. It was OK, wrapped in a round shape using the skin. The service was painfully slow. It took 3 hours for 3 courses to be served. The two owners were serving & cooking & were very attentive to the guests.
We loved this restaurant and highly recommend it. Very friendly chef and wait staff. We can’t wait to back.
I have eaten here many, many times. Always wonderful and reproducible. The Chef's menu is highly recommended. I love a fine dining experience, and in my opinion it does not get better than this. I live in the Los Angeles area where we have an abundance of fine restaurants that I frequent. In a comparison, Aly's rates very high on my list and I find it worthwhile to take the 2+ hour drive to eat there at least once a month.

The traditional decore is welcoming and comfortable. The food is seasonal and locally grown. The preparation is flavorful and delicious. The wine is outstanding and made by the owners. He service is attentive. Both of the owners welcomed us and checked to make certain all was to our liking. Aly's is our favorite restaurant and where we celebrate our wedding anniversary traveling from Orange County to Solvang yearly. It's a great dining experience!

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience in October 2019. It’s obvious that cuisine and service are of the utmost importance. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, sharing insight to the local flavor of Solvang and of the menu. We had the Maine lobster tail, crab cake, and filet mignon with the recommended wine pairings. Needless to say, our selection was excellently prepared and simply delightful. To our surprise and delight, the chef also came out and discussed the preparation and menu selection for the evening. The atmosphere and ambiance in Alys made it feel like a very private and personal experience. Overall, we had an outstanding experience at Aly’s and would certainly recommend!
Service was great. We had the filet and scallops, both were delicious. Dessert was also amazing, we'll be back for sure.
My wife and I came up to Solvang for the annual Danish Day’s and decided to dine at Aly’s. Wow, What a wonderful decision that was! Every aspect from the ambience to the food was superb. The server recommended the Scallops and Filet, so my wife and decided to take her up on her suggestion...AMAZING! You can tell Chef Richard knows what he is doing, from the quality of the food to the presentation of the dishes. My wife enjoyed it as did I. If you so happen to be visiting the lovely town of Solvang, I would STRONGLY recommend stopping in for the best dining experience in Solvang!
Came all the way from Texas, and I have to say, the Collared Steak was delicious. The server mentioned that they get the Mangalitsa from a local farm which added a nice touch to the entire ecperience. Thank you Aly's!

the servers came to tell us about the menu and poured water, then ignored us for 20 minutes while they took drink and food orders from tables that sat down 10 minutes after we arrived. Not great service. There was a 20% 'service fee' tacked onto the bill which a verifyed was the tip so I didnt' tip extra even though the receipt gave me advice on how much more i could leave! It was a small quaint expensive restaurant and the food was delicious . they need to work on their staff for better service and NOT charge a 20% service fee.
The Halibut was super. Wonderful salad as well.
