We are pleased to offer you a traditional style dinning experience; where you may enjoy your food, wine and company un-rushed. We allot between 1-2 hours for you to enjoy each other in this experience. If you desire a quicker pace please let us know and we will be happy to accommodate you.
Though we love children, our restaurant isn't very Children Friendly. For those Children that are well behaved we will accommodate them the best we can.
We loved this restaurant and highly recommend it. Very friendly chef and wait staff. We can’t wait to back.
I have eaten here many, many times. Always wonderful and reproducible. The Chef's menu is highly recommended. I love a fine dining experience, and in my opinion it does not get better than this. I live in the Los Angeles area where we have an abundance of fine restaurants that I frequent. In a comparison, Aly's rates very high on my list and I find it worthwhile to take the 2+ hour drive to eat there at least once a month.
Pretty good food, it’s was expensive, limited menu items, very nice atmosphere with a very attentive waiter.
The traditional decore is welcoming and comfortable. The food is seasonal and locally grown. The preparation is flavorful and delicious. The wine is outstanding and made by the owners. He service is attentive. Both of the owners welcomed us and checked to make certain all was to our liking. Aly's is our favorite restaurant and where we celebrate our wedding anniversary traveling from Orange County to Solvang yearly. It's a great dining experience!
Great food and service! Our second time there and will be back!
Service was great. We had the filet and scallops, both were delicious. Dessert was also amazing, we'll be back for sure.
My wife and I came up to Solvang for the annual Danish Day’s and decided to dine at Aly’s. Wow, What a wonderful decision that was! Every aspect from the ambience to the food was superb. The server recommended the Scallops and Filet, so my wife and decided to take her up on her suggestion...AMAZING! You can tell Chef Richard knows what he is doing, from the quality of the food to the presentation of the dishes. My wife enjoyed it as did I. If you so happen to be visiting the lovely town of Solvang, I would STRONGLY recommend stopping in for the best dining experience in Solvang!
Came all the way from Texas, and I have to say, the Collared Steak was delicious. The server mentioned that they get the Mangalitsa from a local farm which added a nice touch to the entire ecperience. Thank you Aly's!
I love Solvang, but the best of come here it is have to have dinner at Aly’s Restaurant! Do not miss the best restaurant in Solvang !
the servers came to tell us about the menu and poured water, then ignored us for 20 minutes while they took drink and food orders from tables that sat down 10 minutes after we arrived. Not great service. There was a 20% 'service fee' tacked onto the bill which a verifyed was the tip so I didnt' tip extra even though the receipt gave me advice on how much more i could leave! It was a small quaint expensive restaurant and the food was delicious . they need to work on their staff for better service and NOT charge a 20% service fee.
The Halibut was super. Wonderful salad as well.
It was so nice after the day in the sun at the car show
Whenever my mom and I visit Solvang, we would go to Aly's Restaurant. The service was slow. The waiter poured less than 1/2 glass of wine for my mom. Usually the glass is 3/4 filled. The greens were not fresh. The Risotto was cold and the only veggie used was brocolli. The steak was good. My mom and I agreed that we would not go back.
Enjoyed everything about this restaurant. Service was great, as was the food. No bar.... wine & beer only.
The service was slow......which is OK but it was slower than ideal........wonderful staff, good food.
The service of the waitress was excellent. It does seem we waited quite a long time for our meals.
The portions served were extremely minimal, though the price of the meals was very high. We were still hungry after the meal. The quality of the food was good.
Upon arriving at table side our server did not introduce her self, and announce the we would need to
"bear with her" as she had only worked there a few weeks ( was she also new to serving ? ). We were served water and rolls, and had our order taken a few minutes later. My wife ordered Salmon ( which was very good ) and myself a New York steak ( prepared Medium to perfection ) The sides; garlic mashed potatoes ( table spoon portion ) and broccolini ( 1 stem ) were very skimpy at best for a $48.00 entree. Our server unfortunately, had almost no wine knowledge ( which was evident ) and a disappointment for an up scale restaurant in the Sanya Ynez Valley. Other than House wines by the glass, there were no other choices. An observation I would like to offer that might help the wait staff, would be an additional bus person. At one point there were 5 emptied dirty tables which meant the while the (2) only servers were clearing them, other tables were not having their orders taken and new parties at the door were also waiting to be seated. My comments are offered from a constructive view point.
Not an exciting dining experience. The hour and a half wait between the salad and bland bread and the main course was excessive. The salad was uninteresting, the dressing tasted like frozen orange juice with very few nuts and a sliver of orange. The main course of 3 Scallops were good but very small portion of sides. Overpriced and over rated.
Well done...will be back...nice touch that the owner chef came out to check on us at the end of the meal.
Our fish was perfectly cooked; our server was terrific. I understand the decor choices but personally don’t love it.
Superb, well exceeded our expectations. Server was friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. Chef/owner was very gracious. Came out to talk to us several times showing an appreciation for his clientele. My wife and I had the tasting menu. Portions were small but at the end of the meal were were very satisfied so taking into account the four courses it was perfect.
Wine pairings were excellent, so much so that I purchased a bottle of the red that was served.
Only one negative comment is that we each had a glass of chardonnay to start and it could have more chilled, same for the pairing with the lobster tail.
Decor was beautiful, very small quaint room and quiet.
I also appreciated the "adult friendly-no kids" atmosphere.
Would highly recommend to anyone.
The food was amazing. Some of the best scallops, lobster, lamb and filet ever!!!
Went here for my 1 year wedding anniversary. Adorable fancy place in the cute town of Solvang. We told them it was our anniversary and they gave us free champagne! Food was delicious and very friendly staff
The food was good, but not great. For the prices and inflexibility of the menu, it should be great.
Food was very good but there were only two people serving the whole room. Host was lovely but a little inundated. Also pricey ....
Had Chefs special food and wine pairing. Excellent
Service impeccable and ambiance beautiful. Perfect wedding anniversary with no kids making noises.
Will go back again.
Great food. Great service. Aly's was the perfect spot for my anniversary dinner.
Maybe it has great food, but for a place with restrictions and add-on fees galore (split plate charge, min consumption, corkage fees, split check fee, and god knows what else), the service is sadly laughable. Don't waste your time.
Made a reservation to come in with my husband while in Solvang over the weekend for a date night out. 15 minutes after seating and asking for a drink, not a single server stopped by. Meanwhile, the owner busied herself cozying up to a bigger group near us introducing them to literally all the decorations hanging around the restaurant while they're probably trying to read the menu.
Maybe it's just me, but maybe prioritize tending to your customers instead of chitchatting? Was looking forward to the tasting menu, but sorely disappointed and won't be returning. I guess they didn't want my business anyways. I'll get my fancy dinner fix literally anywhere else.

The owners were outstanding!!!!! SOOOOO nice! The food was excellent! Best scallops I've ever had!!

The food stands on its own.... excellent!!!!
This is the best restaurant in solvang with no doubt.
I’m a I am a daughter of a fisherman, I know a little bit of fish and I can guarantee this place only serve fresh seafood. And if you never had you will don’t think is fish.
This is real food, chef was so nice and we get to see the kitchen my big surprises there wasn’t microwave. I work in the industry no microwave in the kitchen is a Big deal!
Thank you all!
It was definitely a great experience and would visit again!
Had a wonderful experience. The waitress was very nice. Food was great, and the atmosphere was quiet and welcoming. Highly recommend to anyone interested in a good evening dinner with their loved one (s).
Aly's is one of the very few restaurants in the Santa Ynez Valley that offers a classy, sophisticated dining experience with a much-appreciated quiet ambiance. Many of us who live in this area have grown dismayed over the number of restaurants that have adopted a "louder is better" environment. Trying to converse with your table mates above the din of a packed room designed with sound-reflective hard surfaces detracts from the entire dining experience. Aly's is wonderful in all ways: a lovely dining room, gracious and caring service, outstanding food and wine - just the place to go with friends and family for a most enjoyable evening.
Good food, service was terrific, our waiter extremely knowledgeable about everything food, wine and area
Went for Mother’s Day. It’s not really a place where you bring you kids but they accommodated us and were wonderful. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in town!
Excellent way to celebrate our anniversary! We are big fans of Aly, the propreitor who waited on us, and her husband's food was phenomenal. Locally grown food and sourcing makes such a big difference and it showed.
It was the best NY steak of my life ! I have been in Michelin stars restaurant. This restaurant it is for sure the best restaurant in solvang. The server was just perfect!
It was very good
Good food and great service
