a.Lure Savannah Ratings and Reviews
It was a great experience for Valentine’s Day. I’m not sure if it was because of the holiday that the tables were closer together and the wait staff kept walking in between the tables and bumping everyone. Other than that, it was nice. The food was delicious and came it fast. We were on a time crunch and it was perfect. We had an hour and 20 minutes and we were finished before the time was up.
My friend and I decided to treat our wives to a couples weekend in Savannah. We chose this restaurant based off of previous reviews and it did not disappoint! The service was excellent all the way through. Then there is the food, it's to die for! The flavors were blended well and we all loved the dishes we selected. Overall this restaurant will be on our list of must do's when in Savannah!
I had heard from friends that Allure was one their favorites so I was happy to find that Allure was participating in Savannah Restaurant week. Everyone in our six person party was so pleased by everything and said they would definitely come back. The food and service were excellent. We are all over 45 and noticed that the noise level was such that we could carry on a conversation easily. Very happy. Definitely will recommend
I dined during restaurant with a friend and enjoyed the prixie meal. The Beef medallion were cooked to perfection and the risotto with hopping john was a delight. What sealed the deal was the amazing strawberry sauce in the strawberry pie. Our waiter was super attentive for a busy friday night. kudos. it was a great experience and I look forward to the next visit.
My dining experience at a.Lure was horrible! After waiting almost 30 minutes to have server come to our table....it all went downhill from there. We should have taken the hint and left but we hung in there and proceeded to try and order after having some questions about the menu to address my nieces allergies - which took another 10-15 minutes. We received food that subpar and had little flavor (a caesar salad that was wilted and overdressed, two of us had the same seafood pasta dish that was lacking seasoning). My niece's burger (sans bun and cheese and other garnishment due allergies) looked like a hockey puck but was medium rare when she cut it - what a disaster. After being asked if she wanted another burger and declining, the manager stated he would comp the burger (how generous of him considering that it as inedible). I was visiting on business and so far had had two great meals with excellent service so its not Savannah...its a.Lure.
The server apologized for the lack of attention citing staffing issues but at no point did the manager...
We love having dinner here whenever we are in town. The service is great, the food is wonderful, and they are very accommodating and knowledgeable about food allergies. Another plus is that they are open on Monday evenings and located in a cute neighborhood.
We are regulars at A. Lure. The service is always excellent as well as the presentation. We sample different entrees from time to time but usually come back for the `Peas and Carrots', my wife's favorite.
This time we brought local friends visiting for the first time. They will also be back.
First time dining there. Nice room ambiance. Dinner menu was attractive. Swordfish special was excellent as well as lamb carpaccio and rabbit ravioli appetizers. The risotto under the chicken liver appetizer was wonderful. My wife usually won’t eat bread but she ate both the focaccia and biscuit rolls and thought they were delectable. We were not overly impressed with their meatloaf with foie gras. The only down side was that their wine list was relatively poor selection but they did have some interesting cocktails.
Visited on NYE and had a late reservation to bring in the New Year. Bar service was excellent. However once seated we had a very poor experience. First they were completely out of all 3 specials. In addition to running out of two of there standard dinner menu items. This was very disappointing, and shows the venue was not prepared for a busy evening. Rabbit app was very good, but the other apps we ordered were ok at best. Steak was extremely over cooked after ordering the steak medium rare. The second steak came out raw, cold center, could not even consider it rare. Overall a very poor experience.
After seeing that both Elizabeth on 37th and the Olde Pink House were booked full, my girl friend and I "settled" for New Year's Eve dinner at a.Lure. How pleasantly surprised were we to learn that we'd stumbled onto the best of the three! Service was perfect. Quick, friendly, but not hovering. When we needed our waiter, he was right there. It was like he knew. When we didn't, he wasn't. Not intrusive at all. And the food. THE FOOD! Magic with sauces!! Do yourself a favor. Give a.Lure a try!!
Order the roasted garlic appetizer, ask for more grilled bread and goat cheese. It is AMAZING.
For dinner, my guest had the deconstructed low country boil -- very very good, not your typical bowl of butter and broth. More modern and gourmet. I ordered the rabbit pasta appetizer as an entree. Its like an open faced lasagna -- thyme cream sauce, butternut squash, absolutely delicious.
For dessert, we ordered the frozen goat cheese souffle. Wow, custard filled, subtle fruit, not too sweet, really spectacular presentation.
