a.Lure Savannah Ratings and Reviews
Outstanding three courses: lamb carpaccio with blue cheese ice cream and shallot pure/reduction, shrimp with grits and adoulie sausage and pecan pie a’la mode... best three courses I have had in years. Wonderfully attentive and enthusiastic staff - great suggestions!!! Loved it, a truly memorable meal.
Our dinner at a.Lure on 12/4/17 was the highlight of our trip to Savannah. Our server was funny and entertaining, as well as extremely knowledgable on food and wine. I was especially impressed with the Bordeaux blanc he recommended.
When given the choice of so many restaurant options, I'm so glad we decided on a. Lure. I highly recommend it for foodies.
Service was good, except waitress brought red wine glasses for us to use with a bottle of champagne. We asked for the appropriate glasses she brought them. Servers seem to be very conscientious.
The smell of bleach lingers in the air, which isn't pleasant while you eat. We had the blue cheese fondue chips, which were delicious. Two of us had the soup and sandwich combo. Soup was just warm and the sandwich small, but delicious. My friend had the Caesar salad, which was iceberg lettuce instead of romaine and a little droopy. We waited outside for a pedicab and the people walking by made is a little nervous. We always try a place twice, so we will try again.
The waitress was a little pushy and the food did not live up to expectations. except the "Braised Rabbit Open Ravioli" which was superb. My wife's pork shank was good but the meatloaf was terribly over rated by our server. I should have had my delicious appetizer and dessert instead. Good but no WOW factor. Somewhat disappointing anniversary dinner.
Amazing food, cozy ambiance, and excellent service. I can't say enough good things about our server, Mackenzie. She was sweet, attentive, and well-educated on the menu. I especially appreciated how charismatic she was towards us being on a time-crunch for the ballet after dealing with Christmas parade traffic. Fried green tomatoes and crab cakes were excellent starters. Both our entrees, the pork shank and duck, were absolutely delicious.
We celebrated our granddaughter's college graduation at a.Lure. Absolutely the best food we've had at any Savannah restaurant. We each had a 4 course meal and everything from the appetizer down to dessert was wonderful. We had a wonderful time. Will come back.
Wonderful food - Rabbit appetizer was outstanding! Liver appetizer was very good!
Service is A+ - Curtis is one if not the best waiter I have ever had the privilege of having.
Can not wait to return to Savannah so we can return to a.Lure - a 5 star restaurant!
An early Sunday nite dinner while in Savannah one night made for an excellent experience. John Earl took excellent care of us with knowledge and recommendations. The burger and roast chicken selections fit the mood exactly. When back, first choice will be a.Lure.
I should paid more attention to some of the reviews. Specially the ones that I know that they know what they are talking about. This place is nice but it is on the more on the lower side of my scale. They fell short with their versions of southern classics. I did like their lamb carpaccio but it was 12 bucks for 4 small pieces. I moved not their version of low country boil. It was some collard greens with a bunch of vinegar. The grilled shrimp all 7 of them were over cooked. Their house made sausage was sliced thin and also hammered. The crab cake had some good flavors but was mostly fillers. The star of the dish was the corn flan. It had great flavor and was cooked properly. The house old bay hollandaise was pretty tasty also. I finished these dishes and went all in and ordered their chocolate pecan pie with a bourbon caramel. This was tasty but required a steak knife for which I was served. My service was good and the young lady was very accommodating with my meal.
We were referred to Allure by our hotel concierge. The entire dining experience from the minute we walked in exceeded our expectations. The food was unique and incredibly tasty, the service was exceptional (and it was her third shift!) and the prices were completely reasonable. Try the deviled eggs, fired green tomatoes and the meatloaf. To it off with the chocolate pecan pie. Wow! We were treated to complimentary Champaign to celebrate our anniversary. Classy touch. Exceptional value and great food. You won’t be disappointed.
Great service. The portions were a great size and I️ definitely didn’t leave hungry. I️ ordered a burger and fries green tomatoes as an appetizer. My only complaint was everything was too salty, and this is coming from a person who likes salt. The ketchup was even salty.
Our waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable, although he over-did the Sothern charm a bit. The menu was creative and expansive and everything we ordered was excellent. The noise level was excessive and distracting due mainly to a group nearby that did not adhere to normal courtesy and regard for fellow diners.
Food is good, presentation nice. I ordered meatloaf---fantastic!! My husband ordered Low country boil--- very disappointed, thought would be more traditional. We got there early so pretty quiet, but do Not like how tables are so close together. Not sure we would return
