Eaten here several times. Food is creative and excellent. This is where I take out of town foodies.
Food is good, but the prices require more. Not a good value for money
Arguably the best restaurant in Seattle, in my opinion. The food is locally sourced and inventive, and delicious! This is a special occasion restaurant that is worth it!
One of the best dining experiences in Seattle. Inventive and beautifully presented cuisine. A very special place.
Perfect food and amazing service. Can't go wrong with Altura.
Arguably the best restaurant in Seattle. If the michelin guide were to release a Seattle guide, Altura would certainly be included.
so Good! In our top two special occasion restaurants in Seattle!
One of the most memorable dinners I've had in my entire life. The food was spectacular. So much creativity and love. It was just spectacular!
An Overall Fantastic dining experience. Most professional. Dinner took 3 hours and was well worth every minute. If you want M-3star without the cost and pomp. Go see Altura. Better experience, value and quality
Great service, food and wine. A little pricey for what you get, but a nice experience overall
As always, the most fantastic meal in Seattle. Delectable. Perfect in all regards.
This was one of the best dinner experiences I've ever had. And it is an experience. Not only was everything delicious, it was different and the presentation was amazing. They took very good care of us and it's clear they really pay attention to the details. This was a dinner I'll remember always.
Great ambiance, the food was very creative and the service was impeccable. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion.
Everything about the experience was fantastic. The chef and his team work in such a calm and precise manner it was such a delight to sit at the counter and watch all of the courses come together. Every bite eaten was delicious. Wouldn’t change a thing, loved everything eaten. Also they were so so good at accommodating allergies. If you’re considering definitely go!!
If you want the wine pairing be sure to ask. We were not told there were two levels of wine pairings and were sold the classic which is more expensive than the meal, for the most part we were disappointed with the wine selections however the food was amazing!
Outstanding creative cuisine in 13 courses which do not overwhelm you. Enjoy at a nice pace as you experience various flavors. Excellent!
Absolutely fantastic experience. Everything was as perfect as could be.
I have been a member of OpenTable since, like, the beginning and I have yet to write a review... until now. I have also eaten a many, many multi-starred Michelin spots as well as a hefty number from the Pelligrino best list (I'm looking at you DOM, Central, Blue Hill @ Stone Barns, Cosme, Astrid y Gastón - to name a few). But I will tell you this - Altura is RIGHT UP THERE! The food, the experience, the chef's interaction with clientele... Michelin and Pellegrino World's best should really branch out.
I always search for the best restaurant in whatever city I visit. I use the Michelin/Pellegrino lists as well as Eater and other sources. I can't say enough about this amazing restaurant in Seattle and I think every foodie should GET THERE NOW!
Amazing food and service. Unique dishes with excellent presentation. Would definitely come back. Come hungry!!
This is one of the most creative and inventive restaurants I have been to. We enjoyed the variety of seasonal ingredients and the unique flavors in the tasting menu. We sat at the counter where we could watch the preparation of all the dishes. The staff were attentive to my partner's allergies and seamlessly served him something else that was equally delicious.
There were several courses of food, but almost all of them were hits. The somelaire paired the wine with the meals very well. Price is a bit high for a resteraunt with shared tables. Would recommend this establishment for "once in a while" dining experiences.
Weekend getaway from LV. Restaurant was recommended by a friend who now lives in Seattle. Other than the lengthy time it takes to eat every dish prepared, the presentation, innovation, and of course taste was absolutely delicious!!! My boyfriend didn’t understand most of what was being described or served...
Wonderful 11-course surprise menu with superb wine pairings. We had a wonderful evening and it was on par with our previous anniversary dinners at Le bernadin and Victoria & Albert’s. Top notch.
Altura did an amazing job accommodating us (pregnancy restrictions) to make it an amazing meal. We had an amazing experience and will definitely be back!
So amazing. Completely worth it. Made our 5th anniversary even more memorable. Outrageously excellent food, impeccably orchestrated wonderful service.
Creatively prepared food presented with excellent service and beautiful plating. For foodies it’s one of those restaurants that you must go to at least once (but bring your platinum credit card). That said, it was a bit too precious and over-the-top for my taste.
The food was great but they need a new bakery chef. The desserts were pretty bad. Ending a meal with a nice desert really closes the meal in a good note. The pastry bread was unimpressive and the infuse it with alcohol which was too much. Someone got carried away with the booze
Overall it was very good, I like that almost everyone that worked there came to our table a part of the presentation. I had the Classic Pairing and although it was expensive they were also very generous with the amount and offered other items that weren't included. The only downside for me was I thought the main dish was a little disappointing, I had the duck and it was the least of what I ate. I would definitely go back.
Everything was delicious. We got the modern wine pairing which was great. Our servers were all very personable and explained the dishes and pairings well. Not quite a special occasion for us, but I'd definitely recommend it to anyone for any occasion.
Super expensive even for this type of dining.
$748 bill for two people. That was with bottle of wine and not wine pairing. Gulp.
Food was fantastic.
First off this was our first time celebrating our anniversary. Amazing experience, it took about 3 hours to finish up the ten course meal. Flavorful and super tasty but this is for us special occcasions only type of venue. We u fortunately both got sick an hour or so after we got home. Not sure which of the 10 dishes it was but we are recovering
This place was amazing. Took my wife there for her 30th Birthday and everything was excellent. The entire restaurant service staff was involved in the service from the greeter to the head chef. The food was excellent and the Kobe was the best tasting food I’ve ever eaten. Definitely recommend this to anyone for a special occasion.
The food was delicious and they were well-prepared to accommodate our request for vegetarian options for my wife with modified versions, substituting beets for beef in a cannoli, for example. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was comfortable. The volume levels made the place feel alive but not so loud you couldn’t hear across the table. The staff was polite and professional.
This was my second time dining at Altura and it is definitely one of the best restaurants in Seattle, possibly THE BEST. The food is the star here. The wagyu main course was so good I literally wanted to cry after my first bite. Every dish was delicious and the wine pairings were creative and complemented the courses extremely well. This is definitely the place to come in Seattle for a truly special culinary experience.
This was a one-of-a-kind meal and we had a really good time.
This is as my third time at altura and it was as unique as the last two times. I was blown away by the new dishes and taste explosion. This is my favorite restaurant in Seattle.
It was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. Superb on every level: the artistry, the taste, the finest ingredients. We sat at the counter and got to watch the magic happen. Truly a peak life experience
I have mixed feelings about my experience at Altura.
First off I will say that most of the food my wife and I had was excellent. There were good flavor combinations and a variety of presentations that were all fun to look at and eat. The serving staff was very friendly and we felt taken care of. The dinner starts off with several bite sized eats that are diverse and mostly very tasty and represent a myriad of things I would never think about making or ordering elsewhere. Its the type of experience I come to restaurants with fixed menus for, food that isn't my norm. This builds to a entree (we had 2 options) and then cheese plate then desert.
The things I didn't love. Even knowing the dinner would be ~3 hrs long, I feel like I was getting tired of waiting in between dishes for the next one. It felt as if the gap in between was 5-10 minutes longer than it should have been, which adds up with that many courses. Next, I left feeling hungry. This isn't something I would've expected and am frankly kind of upset about. Yes, plates are small and are meant to be, but I don't expect to leave a restaurant that has such a high price tag hungry still. Unfortunately, to my wife's chagrin we did not get a pasta dish which is the unpredictability of their menu (which we understand but she had hoped for still since they are 'italian').
The atmosphere as many have noted is close. The serving staff are very good at trying to be out of the way but despite being nicely lit and decorated the nature of it being such a small, noisy space detracts from the romantic aspects considerably.
What this restaurant does, it does very well. For me, the price was not worth the experience. It isn't a place I would never go back to, if my wife would like to try it again for special occasions I'm all for it- but it isn't my kind of place. Remember the price tag is mostly going towards the taste and experience.
Just absolutely amazing experience.
