Altobeli's Restaurant and Piano Bar Ratings and Reviews
Seated near the stage for singer. Noisy as they had a meeting taking place in dinning room. Spouse indicated when ordering that she was Gluten Free and order came out with regular angel hair pasta. It was removed from our bill. Indicated on reservation it was her birthday and nothing done at dessert time to recognize it.
You can smell the delicious aroma of their food before you open the door to the restaurant and it's wonderful! I had a shrimp pasta dish that was outstanding. As the waitstaff for their recommendations and try something new. The veal stuff mushrooms are a nice appetizer before your entree arrives. Don't forget to ask for an order of bread rolls. We ate so much that we had to get our dessert to go! You will also enjoy the live music. Go and enjoy this place for a lovely night out with good food, nice drinks, music, and maybe a bit of dancing if you're in the mood. They have a small dance floor!
Fabulous food, friendly atmosphere, phenomenal music by Randy Barnes on piano and all the talented singers entertaining guests is the perfect description for Altobeli's. The staff are congenial. Al, the owner, is visible and greets everyone, new or repeat customers. Dance floor is available....
Great dining experience. The management team and our server (Adam) took great care of us to allow us to make reservations for a party of 20 for outdoor dining on a Saturday evening. Adam was very attentive and kept coming back with drink and bread refills without any requests. Food was wonderful and everyone in the party was extremely satisfied with the quality and the quantity of their portions. Overall a great enjoyable evening for all!!!
Went to Altobeli's for our wedding anniversary and we were very please with both the service and the food. Found them through open table as one of the top Italian Restaurants in the area. The service was tremendous as they use the "old school" style of team waiting. We were intrigued by the menu we had seen online and it did not disappoint. Both of our entree's were excellent and we are already planning a return. A quick suggestion, don't skip dessert!
I had to wait over 30 minutes for a table even though I had a reservation. Our waiter was not very attentive. We waited 25 minutes for just the opportunity to ask for a check. I asked for a dessert to go and he brought it to the table as if we were going to eat it at the table.
Altobeli's is like stepping back into 1975 with a classic Italian menu prepared in the classic style. Whenever your wait staff is, on an average, older than 40, you have probably found a place where they can live off their tips. Service -by-team is the approach, and this staff knows how to use it to the benefit of the clientele. Not only is the food classic but the atmosphere is dark and romantic and elegant. If you like jazz the live music is another "plus" - not so much if you want to carry on a quiet conversation. However there are other dining areas away from the music that will serve the quiet conversation quite well. I always look forward to returning.
This last time I had the Veal Roma - for the first time. Very good. The Ceasar salad was good, but not the best I have had. The pasta with the Veal Roma had Altobeli's Alfredo sauce and my wife and I agreed it may have been the best we have ever had - anywhere. She had a salmon dish she could not finish (so we boxed it home!) The we split a dessert - a dark chocolate mousse. For anyone who is not a chocolate lover, you may not like the deep flavors of this dessert. But, I loved it. I suspect their other desserts are equally tasty.
So before I tell you all of the good things about this place, let me begin by saying that this is a great place for a 2nd or 3rd date, but NOT a first date.
The ambiance here is amazing, and the talent that performs here makes it a great experience. I came for a 2nd date on a Thursday night, and knew that unless they were packed, we would be there for 2 or more hours. The wait staff did not rush us, but stayed attentive. We ended up closing the restaurant down. I will forever be grateful for how kind they were, and for not being displeased that we took our time and enjoyed them. I will certainly be back.
Disappointing. Service was very slow. Food was ordinary at best. Rolls were hard and lacked salt. Red wine was served warm, although they did take it away to chill without our having to ask saying something about the wine chiller being broken. Then why not chill it before bringing it to the table? It took at least 15 minutes to get the wine at all after ordering it and then we were left with two tiny glasses of warm Pinot noir. It just seems like no one cares at this place. The waiter clearly didn't want to be there, told my teenaged sons to "get an education so you never have to wear an apron". The manager was brusk. Sauces and salad dressings were slopped onto plates and pasta sides were tiny. We didn't expect perfection but some effort would be nice. We had been here years ago and had good memories of this restaurant but it seems like they are just going through the motions now. It was also expensive for the lackluster food and service. Will not return.
A wonderful birthday dinner for my wife at Altobeli's Restaurant and Piano Bar on Thursday evening. The ambience was perfect for s titling in before the live music began. Delightful cocktails for openers, then very good authentic Italian food. Great food, great service (thank you, Sia!) and great live music! Our first visit on recommendations from several friends. We WILL be back for more (and not just for a birthday, for sure)!
Excellent dinner and time. Apps were good. salad and main course were excellent. Music was great. My wife and I had a great time and will go back next month.
I had a shrimp dish and it was great. My wife had a veal dish and it was excellent and good as her mother made. She is Italian.
Second time this summer that we went.
