The service was awful, and this wasn't just out table but every table around us. It took 45 minutes just to get our first drink on the table. Other people actually left the restaurant during our meal because it was so bad. We stayed in AZ for five days, choosing different restaurants for lunch and dinner every day, and this was by far the worse meal on our stay.

The restaurant was perfect for Valentine's Day dinner. Our server was most attentive. We enjoyed the meal and the ambiance.

Amazing food and service, incredible wine. The gondola ride was a great ending. Went for surprise 16th wedding anniversary. Wife was completely surprised and the staff even allowed me purchase flowers that were at the table when we arrived. 5star !

We started with the bruschetta that was very well seasoned. We had the spinach salad which was good but it's a salad. Our main courses were pappardelle and black pepper linguini. Our waiter suggested adding shrimp to it(Linguini), great suggestion by Robert. We both thought the pappardelle was slightly the better meal. That was because of the sauce but the shrimp was the best part of both meals. I was impressed the chef makes the pasta daily, you can tell. For dessert we shared the gondolino, we are both big crème brûlée fans and putting the fruit in a gondola shape display was a nice touch. The shrimp was our favorite followed by the gondolino then the bruschetta. My only negative thought was the portion sizes were small for the cost of the meal. But, we did get a gondola ride out of it, too. All and all, not bad.

I had read the service was poor from past reviews, we found just the opposite with Robert and Louis.

The gondola ride was very nice but a little short to fully enjoy it. I would recommend both the restaurant and gondola ride for a very romantic evening. Just avoid valentine day itself for the ride, they double up couple in the gondola which will lessen the mood it was intended for.

Our whole experience was so memorable and lovely! Thank you to the servers and the chef. What a romantic dinner ended with a gondola ride as the moon was rising! Spectacular! Next time we plan to make it an overnight stay!

A very limited menu; service was poor; yet the restaurant was barely attended, and we had to wait forever between each course and for our bill. The butternut squash soup was very good as well as the Arancini. Three of us had the chicken entrée and none of us really thought it was worth the high price. The Pappardelle was very good. The cappuccino was poor. Overall, a poor rating for such a highly recommended restaurant where are expectations were obviously too high.

Pasta was very good. Cod was very small and swirl of purée and leaf of arugula. Steak was good but no potato option and only 4 Brussels sprouts. Shared calamari was delicious but small as were the salami and 2 pieces of cheese. If the portions were bigger the experience would be better.

Disappointing. Alto doesn't have it's own cozy space as you might expect of a nice Italian restaurant, rather it's shoehorned into the back of the hotel's southwest style restaurant.

Food was for the most part good. The one glaring exception was the pasta, which despite coming highly recommended by the waiter, was so under-seasoned it was criminal.

Love this restaurant and the serving staff is great BUT the kitchen must need staff because the times we have been there the food takes FOREVER!! We will try again in the future hoping this situation has changed but we won’t return soon.

Romantic dinner with a free gondola ride is very attractive if you are here as a date or special romantic event, however, even you made an reservation earlier and notice the restaurant that you are here for a birthday dinner, they prepared “nothing”, not even a “happy birthday greeting”. The server lack of experiences, don’t know how to introduce chef’s special, and pour the wine. It’s a bit sad with this high class (price) restaurant. I might not coming this restaurant again, but Hotel was amazing!

First date, so I had to impress. How could you go wrong with a table next to the fireplace and a romantic Gondola ride with singing Gondolier. Great service from Christoph, who was thoroughly familiar with the menu and wine list.
