Very disappointing we went there for Easter With our family our reservation was in the afternoon and the restaurant said there was going to be a buffet by the time we got there they started cleaning everything up the food was not good at all literally the only thing they had was breakfas with our family a reservation was in the afternoon and the restaurant said there was going to be a buffet by the time we got there they started cleaning everything up the food was not good at all. The selection was minimal I do not know how they classify this as a buffet this was the farthest thing from a buffet I’ve ever seen if you were looking for a classic style buffet this is not your option even though the description says so. Way overpriced and not worth the time or money
Was a great place for our large family for Easter Brunch!
Food was great! Would recommend it to hotel guests, people in town for the convention and even locals! Reasonable prices and the service was phenomenal!
I took my mom to see Hamilton for her 70th birthday we went there before the play I told them before that it was a special occasion the hostess made sure that they were aware that it was a special occasion it was my mom 70th birthday the waitress came over and asked about my moms birthday and that it was her 70th birthday and yet when it came time they never did anything I kept waiting for someone to bring her cake anything they did nothing I was very disappointed we had theater tickets so we couldn’t hang around and wait for them to remember what they confirm three times !
Good food, great staff, good location.
The Mexican buffet was a great value. I like the space of this place, plus it is quiet so you can talk.
excellent waitress; reservation was right at 5:30 when they opened; so no crowd. Had prime rib special, well worth it
At first we were excited to try Altitude as they promote that the restraint has a great view however, it was misleading as it is full of windows with a street view not a skyline view.
Upon receiving our food, my spouse shrimp tacos arrived with cold tortillas, and my $15 hamburger was about the size and quality of a McDonalds quarter pounder. The bun tasted like a grocery store bun. It was also the same size as the kids meal burger which was half the price. The only difference was mine had the fixings. Then I tasted my sons turkey burger which had a taste of plastic and seemed to be a microwaved product as it was rubbery and difficult to cut with out a knife. This place is way overpriced for the quality of food . Edible? Yes, but I could take the Family to a fast food restaurant for a 3rd of the price for better quality food.
Finally, it was slow day there, but service was slow. You had to ask for the basics, and wait and wait.
Ordered the tomato soup, brussel sprouts and the lamb lollipops. Brussel sprouts were terrific! Atmosphere was nice.
Lovely restaurant and the friendly staff even sang Happy Birthday to us in English and French! What a treat. Made us feel super special. Excellent food, and chocolate mousse dessert. Will definitely come back
Nothing fantastic but solid service, nice ambience and good food at a reasonable price for a major downtown hotel. Wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here, but would be glad to return. Nicely located right across from the Convention Center.
Made a reservation weeks prior, but still had to line up for 10 minutes with people who did not reserve?
Service staff seemed very stretched, no water , no waiter to take order.
Kitchen was painstakingly slow.
Ended up putting ourselves and our client behind schedule for 9:00 am meetings.
Quite embarrassed and disappointed as you might expect .
The prime rib special ($25) on Fridays and Saturdays was great - a nice value and a great meal.
The chicken picatta was as hard as a brick and just as tough. The desserts were still half frozen. Our waiter was inattentive.
We went before a matinee at the Buell. It's very handy to have a meal at the Altitude restaurant in the Hyatt before going to the DCPA because it's a short walk to the theater. It's nice to get a little walk in before sitting for the show. I expected to have the lunch buffet, but they weren't serving it that day. The website had indicated it would be available. They gave us a free dessert because of the error on the website. We each had a burger that we enjoyed. We ordered two desserts and shared, but that was too much. The peach and pomegranate cobbler had a very sweet topping on it so we didn't finish it. The chocolate dessert was fabulous and in the future we'll just share that.
Food was good but not great for the price. The buffet was the best value
Paid a lot of money, and we feel like it was a waste. Definitely not worth what we paid. The food was "blah", the buffet was ok. No hot vegetables at all, which was surprising. Not much of a selection. My daughter got a pasta dish, that was just ok. She didn't finish it. It was soooo cold in the restaurant, we were literally shaking. We definitely will not be back.
The service was good. Our waiter Sehel (sp?) was very nice friendly and made good conversation. The food was just okay. As we were grabbing plates from the buffet- someone from the staff said they were dirty. They had just opened. There was prime rib, but the guy cut a huge chunk and didn’t know anything. The back bar of hot food was delicious. They had veggies, mashed potatoes, and 3 different types of meats.
The dessert bar was mildly disappointing. The coffee cupcake was more like a chai tasting rock.. the orange brownie- same thing. The mousse cup was amazing along with the cheesecake. I’m not sure what they were thinking with the raspberry chimichanga but you can miss that one.
We went for their Christmas dinner buffet. It was all very delicious! My 7 year old also loved it! Will be back for sure !
My family has celebrated Christmas Day for two years in a row with the dinner buffet at Altitude. It’s relaxing and quality family time during a hectic season of the year.
We went for their Christmas dinner. We are fairly early and had reservations. They were very accommodating. Excellent Christmas dinner with prime rib, turkey and ham at the carving station. It was busy but did not seem crowded or loud. We were able to have a very nice conversation and were not rushed. We will definitely keep Altitude in mind for next Christmas and when we are in Denver next.
It was wonderful to enjoy a Christmas buffet dinner without the hassle of home prep. In addition to the featured turkey (w/ stuffing and gravy), prime rib and ham, there were additional selections of seafood and other entrees. Although the salad offerings were outstanding, I did miss having a selection of cooked vegetables, other than mashed potatoes. The variety of enticing dessert selections was almost overwhelming.
Our family of four went to the Hyatt hotel for Christmas dinner and were extremely disappointed with our meal. We do not have a problem paying $55.00 a person for a special occasion but that being said this meal was anything but special. All of the meat items offered were cold-each of us tried something different with the same result. There were absolutely no hot vegetables offered to go with the meals. There were cold salads and meats for the main offerings. Given the price of this buffett we all felt like the menu was very limited. A few hours after the meal two of the four of us became ill with stomach issues which did not go away for two days. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice warm dinner. Very disappointed with the entire experience.
This was the third year we went to the brunch on Christmas day. Everything met our expectations except our server. He took a very long time to serve our drink orders and then did not come back to offer refills, accept additional orders or even refill our water for the rest of our meal. He was inattentive and indifferent towards us and we did not feel welcomed or appreciated by this server.
Christmas Brunch with family and friends
It has been a Family tradition for the last 5 years for us to eat Christmas Dinner at the Altitude Restaurant. The food is great and the service matches.
The Friday/Saturday night prime rib special is fantastic! It's tasty, has a great price and the service was excellent. It was an excellent meal and we were glad we ate there. The 3 course meal is $25 per person, a steal in downtown Denver.
I ordered the harvest chicken... and it was a rotisserie chicken. Potatoes were salty. Kids chicken fingers were microwaveable. Our ticket was over a 100.00 for this food. Very disappointed. We won’t eat here again.
I have never given a negative review on Open Table - until now. Very overpriced meal. Mediocre food, especially the turkey and prime rib, both over cooked and dry. Slightly better side dishes and a respectable dessert selection.
Not much different than what you could get at Golden Corral or Country Buffet. Add the fairly stiff valet parking - $20/hour, $10 off card given, wine and even a 10% tip and you're looking at a $165 tab for a couple.
Great Thanksgiving buffett with many amazing choices and healthy options including vegetarian options.
Food on buffet was excellent. The only disappointment was the dessert buffet. With the main dishes being so well done the expectation was the same for desserts.
We came for Thanksgiving, our second year doing so. I enjoyed it as I did last year, though in both cases there were not numerous vegetarian options. The vegetarian options that were there were good, but only about five or six choices, which means I had the same plate twice. More vegetarian creations made for us (versus assuming all vegetarians want to eat at the salad bar) would be wonderful. Also, while the stuffing was vegetarian, I had to ask to find that information. All in all, worth the experience, but it could be better for people with dietary variations.
great thanksgiving dinner! Our second year and will go again!
Great atmosphere, great food, clean facility, excellent service, friendly staff. This Hyatt is one of our favorite places.
We have gone here for the Thanksgiving brunch 3-4 times. It is really great.
Lots of options. Would recommend it for large or small families. Love the staff here.
We see the same people every year. This says a lot about the establishment.
We have been coming to The Altitude for Thanksgiving dinner for the last 7 years & the food has always been amazing. This year however, not so much. The stuffing was mushy & tasteless, the desserts were not as good as past years & overall, the food just wasn’t as good as previous Thanksgiving buffets. Maybe add a coffee bar to the dessert bar & better desserts like classic cheesecake, chocolate cake, carrot cake & pumpkin cheesecake. The staff was amazing though!!! If the food continues to go downhill, we will no longer be celebrating Thanksgiving at your restaurant, sadly.
Our server, Tio was awesome. She was attentive, detail-oriented and very friendly. We really had a great meal and the service was amazing.
Chef came out to check how we liked the meal, which was excellent, especially the brussel sprouts appetizer. He emailed us the recipe.
I was very impressed with Altitude Restaurant with excellent service and food. The staff was flexible with allowing us to wait for late arrivals plus I LOVED the fact I could make a reservation for both a lunch meeting and a lunch meeting.
